Vehicle insurance is out of control. We have to have it legally so they have us. If we went to a non-legal requirement we would then be paying for the uninsured claims. The whole business needs tighter regulation and control.
I got rear ended on a pedestrian crossing by an uninsured and unlicensed driver 2 years ago. Still waiting for a payout. I lost one whole month of pay and eventually lost my job as i was too injured to do it anymore.
Sorry to hear it ! Unfortunately there is no justice when the insurance is involved! It's wild wild west and you can't do anything ! That's why any time you can get advantage of them do it like pulling tricks to lower your insurance etc ! You catch my drift ! The amount of vehicles with no insurance is crazy, usually some bmw,Mercs etc !
Returning back to bikes after a 10yr break. last bike i had was a 125 2T sport bike planning on buying a 600 sport and doing my full license, dreading the insurance quotes for a gixxer
It's not always about the bike ! It's the postcode and the type ! For example they didn't have any issues for me to ride a sport touring like a Kawasaki Z1000SX but they didn't quote me for a R6! It's very random ! Check many bikes before you buy. My Tracer 700 had expensive insurance compare to the vfr which is bigger and faster but falls into the smaller insurance bracket as its more rare, less accidents, less thefts etc !
@@zidisrider so a cbr900 from the 90s could be cheaper to insure than a gsx/cbr600 from the 00s?. Im going to have to run a list of different bikes and compare before i pull the trigger.
@chrisgermann6658 It's very random . Has nothing to do with the HP or engine. Your postcode, your licence held years,no claim bonus, bike rarity, type of the bike. For example for me as an experienced rider, they did insure me the vfr800x but they didn't accept at all the 800f which is the exact same bike but with a different title ! I'd say find 5 bikes you like, take the licence plates and run them through , it's the only way. If you aim under 999cc would probably be easier as many insurances ask for 2 years no claim bonus for anything above 1000cc ! Good luck and let me know how it goes!
@@zidisrider is there such a thing as seasonal insurance as im only going to use the machine during the summer for leisure. Yes the largest i would go with would be the cbr900 as they are becoming quite collectable. Ill keep you posted thanks
@chrisgermann6658 Unfortunately not as this was one of my biggest complaints! I used to live in Germany and you could insure things for a weekends or few months but here there is no such a thing ! The cheapest is to do yearly 1 payment, not even monthly. Its pretty bad! Imagine I have 2 bikes and 1 of them I only use it every 2 weekends but I pay for every single day. Sad
