curveball idea: halfway through the battle introduce an ingredient they then have to incorporate

Curveball: A single teaspoon of any spice in any other persons dish. Curveball: 5 minutes of not touching anything, if its on the stove/ in the oven pray it doesn't burn. Curveball: after the ingredients have been supplied change dish from savoury to sweet or vice versa (change the flavour to the opposite of what was planned) Curveball: No stove / no oven, cook using only the mic or any other gadget (like the sous vide, or an electric slowcooker/ pressure cooker/ rice cooker etc)

curveball; make all of them change stations; So they have to make what the other person was cooking.

Curveball idea: throw actual balls at them while they cook

Maybe the next time they do a Banh Mi battle Jamie will accidentally make a traditional Philly cheesesteak?...

Curveball idea- give the lads some of those beer goggles

I misread the title as cheesecake battle and was really confused about their dishes for a while...

Curveball: Part way through the battle, they blind pull a nation's flag out of a box. They then have to make their dish incorporate flavors and themes from the country's cuisine.

Hey, why don't you try traditional food battles? You pick a random country and the three "normals" each have to make a different traditional dish from that country's cuisine. If you like the idea I would love to see some Bulgarian dishes on the show ^^.

Curveball idea - the winner of a challenge gets to sub in a chef for the next battle

Next time you could try swapping dishes for the curve ball so that they have to finish someone else's dish

I’m so happy these are back! Would love a ‘free from’ battle (gluten, dairy etc) making something traditionally hard to meet those requirements!

I think it would be more interesting for the curveball if the chefs suddenly give an extra task for them in the time limit. For example: 1. Ask the three to plate the dish in certain way; 2. Ask them to make drinks that will go well with the dish; 3. Give them an extra ingredient that they have to use in any way; 4. Ask them to incorporate both chefs' favourite ingredient/flavour/anything. So I'm basically asking for a curveball that is not all about ruining each other's dish. They have been doing it without the curveball anyway, no need to give them more platform to do it hahaha. I mean, sabotaging the main ingredient? That's a bit too much, Jamie. Haha. Bread is the key ingredient in making Philly cheesesteak, no? Well granted, Barry took your chilli flakes which is a key ingredient for a Korean dish, but then again this is a Philly cheesesteak battle and not a Korean dish battle. :p

Curveball: Each chef is given a milkshake. They cannot cook while drinking it, or vice versa. They must finish it before the timer ends. Replace with a pint for extra fun!

I had to pay respect to my hometown city's most prized invention but I do appreciate you guys spreading the cheesesteak love. Next time you lads are in town you should definitely try another spot for redemption and then come over here for another battle! -Mike

The curveball almost defeated the purpose of the entire challenge, as bread is essential to a cheesesteak dish...

I don't like the sabotaging of main ingredients. Taking the bread away was lame.

Curveball: Actually they are supposed to cook something completely different. Transform it for example into a soup.

Curveball:They are given blindfolds and a table of ingredients, the first one they touch is the one they must incorporate.

Loved the episode! The new twist was fun and seeing James made it all the better. Can't wait for the next episode.

Curveball idea: can only use equipment that would be found in an average student kitchen so maybe 2 pans, one frying pan, one knife, one baking sheet etc

Found these ultimate battels about a week ago. Most entertaining cooking videos I've seen on RU-vid. Please don't stop making them!

#sorrynotsorry I gotta give it to Jamie for this one. Even compared to the original (well even that’s debatable ) out of all the cheesesteaks I’d want to try is the Korean style bulgogi cheesesteak. (Maybe cause I’m asian but still.) Barry, good job for making do and spending precious time to go get bread from the deli. Curveball for me would me who ever loses a rock/paper/scissors battle has to physically leave the kitchen for x amount of time.

the juice that comes when you dont leave it time to rest, is not actually blood, but a mixture of myoglobin(red coloured protein in muscle cells that is similar to the protein that gives blood its red colour) and the moisture within the cells

Consider this for a future battle: The Ultimate Normal Swap Battle in which Mike, Jamie, & Barry make 2 dishes each in an attempt to replicate the cooking styles the other two are known for. (ie Mike and Barry handling a good bit of chorizo like Jamie)

As a Pennsylvania resident I believe that had Barry’s been on a sub roll, it would have been closest to traditional.

The main reason why I love these videos is the different takes they have on the dishes but a true *Philly* cheesesteak is such a specific thing that it’s hard to stay true to it while doing these challenges

I've been waiting for a new ultimate battle for ages!! This is awesome :) would be awesome to see a gluten-free battle or a stirfry battle. Also, a curveball: they have to use only one hand for the next 15 minutes of the battle.

Curveball idea: bring in kids to take over for the guys for the second half & the guys can’t touch anything (unless there’s something unsafe like deep frying), but only can coach the kids on what to do. Then the guys come back in to plate. Extra curveball - give the kids sweets and fizzy drinks before bringing them in!

Curveball Idea: Change the target dish. For example, have them start off making meatloaf, but halfway through change to tacos. No new ingredients.

I love how, Pass it on, is all about teamwork and Ultimate Battles are full of sabotage.

If Barry hadn't won that, I would have rioted. Mike made a french dip. Jamie made Korean BBQ on a roll, though he used the proper cheese. Everything except the cheese, and the replacement bread that Barry used, was perfect. Life time Philadelphia resident. Good job Barry.

The curveballs are going to make these very interesting and stressful. But I am so excited Ultimate Battles are back! They’re my favorite! I think I’d like to see an ultimate omelet or breakfast battle.

1. Barry - No such thing as too much garlic and cheese, but wish it had different bread 2. Mike - Needed more cheese and some more browning to that beef 3. Jamie - love bulgogi and kimchi, but not so sure about putting it on a sub roll with cheese

Curveball: swap recipes halfway through, so you have to cook what the other person intended.

Curve bull idea one hand behind there back for the rest of the episode.

When somebody wins one of these competitions, I would like to see them draped in a red cape with ermine trim, a tiara placed on the top of their head, and give them a dozen roses! We used to have a very old television show here in America called “Queen for a Day” that did this. You can still pick it up on RU-vid, it’s a hoot! 😂

The outcome of this battle was like a redemption from Barry's cloud eggs. Yes, I still haven't gotten over that laugh. Curveball suggestion: On the last minute of their battle, they can only use their non dominant hand. Or they have to randomly pick a random ingredient from a secret list and add whatever it is to their dishes.

Curveball idea! They have to answer questions on the dish that they are making. Like country of origin or history of the food or something.

Clicking the notification bell was worth it! Also, if anyone form Sorted sees this, I tried the baked chicken nuggets and they were DELICIOUS! I have to make them with the sauce next time, but literally two trays went just between two people. Keep up the amazing work, hella proud of you!

Curveball idea: at some point in the battle, maybe halfway through, have them step away from their dishes for 5 minutes. Maybe give them a quiz related to the theme and if they get it right they can go back to their dishes

Rapid Fire Curveball ideas: -Pass it on crossover! Contestants must switch dishes halfway through the battle and finish the dish as their own -They must incorporate an easily recognizable pre-made ingredient (Think Cheetos, Fruit Cereal, etc) -They can no longer use the oven for the second half of battle

Ooooh I miss this format! I'd like to eat all of that whether or not they are not 'real' philly cheesesteaks. I have never thought of mixing gochujang with butter before. I like the outcome of this battle. I'd like to put mushrooms on my cheesesteak.
