The Ultimate M.U.G.E.N. Iceberg EXPLAINED - Tier 2 

Well this took far too long to come out, sorry about that. Foolish me thought I could finish this before the new year but i at the very least I technically got it out before February (it is currently 11:41pm January 31st). This video was cursed I swear, the amount of time I have spent sick between starting and finishing this video is just ridiculous. I had the video almost entirely finished barring the music for over a week while I was dying from the turbo plague my city got recent (read: unusually awful flu, I was vomiting every 30 minutes). Thank you to everyone who commented on the last video and especial thanks to those who offered their assistance. You'll all likely come to regret that come future tiers when I'll be completely lost about some topics. If I never responded to you or your offer know I appreciate it and I will be keeping it in mind I'm just awful at interaction. I'm extremely happy with how this turned out. Despite all the problems I ran into and the feeling of burnout I was getting I didn't release a half-assed product (I have no idea how this ended up almost double the length of the last one, either). If you notice any mistakes though (and I'm sure there are some) please let me know in the comments and I'll add a correction to the next video. I make no promises on when the next part of this iceberg will be, I still want to stick with my One-Mugen-One-Other video schedule but with how taxing this one was to make I may end up doing a two-to-one at least for the next one. I don't think the next tiers will be nearly as long this one just seemed particularly bloated, and visually I have way more to work with for the later tiers. One more note about JS's Peter Griffin: There's a video of JS Peter Griffin that actually ended up being featured on the G4 TV cable channel back in the 2000's when it aired. The show hosts were genuinely convinced that the video was showing an elaborate MvC ROM hack, and commended the work done on it as if it were a ROM hack because they had no idea what MUGEN was. For awhile I thought this clip might've been lost media, but thank god the original upload still exists. The "my car has air conditioning" review is a reference to meme in Higurashi community, I couldn't explain it properly no matter what, you just have to read first arc of Higurashi. Also, as a fan of the VN, I'm kinda disappointed you didn't even mention the name Higurashi in an entry about a crossover that involves Higurashi.

Maybe Chuck Norris being a sprite edit of Joseph from JoJo represent how they are both a trickster/fun character.

Fun fact about Madoldcrow1105: He had a whole concept of a Nick vs. CN screen-pack that's based on Marvel vs. Capcom 3 with updated and new characters. He did say he wasn't taking the project seriously tho, which is why it never got past the concept stage. I think he's still active in Deviantart now last time I checked. Mordecai is his most popular character actually lmao

Dude subbed I was a MUGEN Nut after I discovered it completely by accident while looking up a sprite package for Jedah. Way back in 2007. I spent YEARS on Mugenguild posting, submitting and downloading. Hilariously I discovered both your channel AND this super informative awesome ass video while searching for BBHood Variants. Pretty much almost full circle.

I'm gonna post this here as well for other people to see. Hi! I'm the one formely known as GaelikTheWarrior (the same name still redirects to my YT channel though). To explain, I wasn't familiar with JoJo at all at the time, heck I didn't even play the Capcom game until after I've made the Joseph palette swap. I just saw Joseph's sprites, was like "I could just make him a ginger and cheap as fuck" and boom, Chuck Norris lol I was always too ambitious at the time and ended up making only shitty characters, but this one is still my favorite for having the most fun making it. But yeah, he was quickly dethroned by cheaper characters as I quickly moved on to other projects. Thank you for featuring him! It's nice to look back at my old creations. I've left MUGEN a long time ago and now I'm mostly making Blender stuff. Could be interesting to come back and make a completely original character now that I have all the tools and knowledge to do so.

Nice to see acknowledgement of my Iceberg. Slight correction with PotS Style: It's CvS style without grooves, not with. It's, for the most part, a fusion of mechanics from each groove, such as Parries, Dodges and Rolls, Power Charging, and Custom Combos. I think Hyper DBZ PotS style also just comes from Hyper DBZ and PotS Style being close together on the chart. Pretty good coverage, though. I'll be intrigued by your coverage of the lower tiers in the future.

Thanks for making these videos! I don't have a ton of time to explore MUGEN in my day to day life but this is a great way to get a glimpse at it that feels up-to-date and personal. It's also nice that your iceberg videos tend to respect people's time and not waste a ton of minutes explaining really surface level stuff. Also your roblox avatar is sick!

my memory might be a bit foggy on this but I was around during the whole gurospooo stuff and the sprites for the intro that were changed were specifically of mugen youtubers favorite characters who went out of the way to doggy on that character and the creator put them in as some form of revenge.

Ayyy my mugen roster is at 12:07 xD niceee but yea I do have to say something about the eve mugen screenpacks for me I don't use it to cram so many chars I use it for fun and because personally if I feel like playing a pretty stacked mugen I just play it or make a roster which is why I make large rosters but ofc I'm not stingy I share my rosters with my subscribers and any mugen player/fan that wants to mess around with it ofc. I believe mugen is for anyone and anybody so I always let people know in the description they can add, remove, replace, and etc..the characters on the rosters I make and will continue to do so. c:

Its Kinda Curious How the None Used the Melty blood Characters Hisui Appearing In One of the Giygas Minigames having his jumpscare (the one you mentioned) Kohaku bein mentioned in the old Dink Smallwood Arcade mode ending Cutscene (the one made by the none when he has most mysterious) And Kouma Kishima Bein And Actual joke Character That Can basically transform into other the none characters like Dopefish, Omega tiger woods, Skullman 2nd form or Segalow ( the rugal bernstein Edit) Btw, A Usser named Xbrosion Made an edit Of that Kouma Adding Giygas as one Of his Victory Animations ( to be more specific the one Of Heita and the one of "Now its safe to turn off your computer") + some new attacks

I know that the iceberg is good, but there are some things that needs to be mentioned more about. The dark donald that the iceberg is referring to is actually the kishio and donalddesu version. Which is the dark donald everyone knows about. This version of dark donald basically gives him the ability to litteraly spam projectiles and can infinitely combo his opponent. As well as the newer version where he can use more projectiles and have a health regenerating system. The newer version of dark donald is also famous cause of the fact that its nearly impossible to kill for 4th div to 2nd div chars. Since he have 2 counters. 1 for refilling his health and heavily damage the opponent, and the other is the black hole move which is an insta death reversal. So yeah. That dark donald is what everyone kind of recognized. And as for chuck norris in mugen, he has became such a classic meme in the mugen community for being one of the stronger characters in its time as you mentioned. But sadly, he would lose that throne later on once hes been beaten by other cheaper character's. And im hoping thst you'll mention some of them soon. Cause i have a lot of knowledge about mugen characters ranging from all types.

is it stupid if I ask for a Colonel edits segment in a MUGEN iceberg? Ik they're pretty much like a counterpart of the Donald edits being more underrated, but maybe it could be interesting to add that considering the existence of Colonels such as...: Killer Colonel, Unknown Colonel 2nd, Period Time and etc. (yep, I'm asking this as someone who made like 100 Colonel Sanders edits throughout the years)

13:39 I’d imagine it says “safe version” because 聖櫻幻血’s GIYGAS_XXX has multiple versions, and “safe version” is being used to refer to the internal null version. There’s also at least 2 external versions which remain fully private, as far as I know: one which 聖櫻幻血 says is a “γ / Anti-Malware” tier, which has videos of it on their channel being used against another external and against the MrsMajor virus, as well as one they say is a “WAN/Dragon” tier which according to them cannot be made into a video. On another note, 聖櫻幻血’s GIYGAS_XXX was inspired by Helltoast’s Giυgas, but I don’t recall it being a direct edit.
