To be honest, Elijah was my best character in both TVD and TO. He's hot and does not abuse his powers. When the less powerful vampires attack him, he does not fight them cause he'd beat them. Elijah is up there.
Also a much more interesting storyline watching how basically omnipotent beings act, manipulate and strategize to stay on top, than having always a catastrophe before you that threatens the lives of the protagonists. Only few series do that; the "Overlord" novel-series is among those.
Elijah doesn't fight for nothing It is not that he doesn't abuse his powers He is the one that created thehierarchy of vampires He is not the OG leader of the strings for nothing He killed like 6 vampires for some precise reasons and he put damon in his place without even trying just in like less than 5 episodes because he was on a mission Most of his battle is because for the sake of his family

Well "originally" Elijah dated a double mortal who is Tatia We can deduct that elijah didn't really forget her Its kind of dark That all these vampires are seducing a 18 yr old girl Because of a past love centuries ago Hmmm Oh i can see that subtle approach of seduction that you "Anglophones" see as a ship This little thing isn't present in the french Dub Elijah keeps a more mature vibe and elena naturally is just a child infront of him
His character has changed so much since he was first introduced up till now in The Originals. He doesn't even have an accent until later on in the series.
natali dep that's because the originals still had some mystery to them during those early introductions. i mean, they're still scary on TO but seeing them and not knowing what they could do in TVD brings that uneasy feeling.
Ikr? Season 2 was like a parallel universe. They were very happy living in New Orleans until 1919. Klaus daggered Rebekah in 1922, but he’d daggered her so many times before too and never would’ve thought about throwing the coffins into the ocean. In fact, Klaus hadn’t been as serious about permanently killing Rebekah until “The Originals” where he’d learn she and Marcel brought Mikael to New Orleans... so, the question is: what was the reason why Elijah seriously thought Klaus dumped them into the ocean, so as to be 100% serious about killing Klaus himself and ending him permanently?
The originals are so old that they are experts at adapting. His voice and accent here is so modern and natural. Compare it to his first scene where he sounds so other worldly.
That little "shh" elijah does to elena sent chills down my back first time I saw this scene love elijah and elena scenes together I still believe they should have ended up together as a couple
Def, I feel like they tried to pair up Nina and Daniel because they had so much chemistry, but they paired them up as Katherine and Elijah, not as Elena and Elijah which I feel is where they went wrong, they def have more chemistry together when Nina is Elena
I know this is super late but its possible he didn't have them very loud so that he could hear other sounds. Mythic Falls isn't exactly a safe place to be unaware of your surroundings.
Am I the only one who feel this scene have same vibes as in books when Damon first visits Elena's house by using her aunt and how even he used that threatening voice despite acting sweet. Elena's reaction is also same in here.
Not a plot hole, Elijah never seemed concerned with Rebekah's fashion or anything she owned. Why should he bother to pay attention to his baby sister's favourite necklace? Yes, it came from their mother, but that was over a thousand years ago - Elijah isn't guaranteed to recognise it from a cursory glance. Also, why would he be looking that low when Elena's eyes are in her eye sockets, not around her neck?
GOSH! I miss the noble Elijah. He always tried to keep his promises and he actually cared more for others (like Elena) than Klaus. Now in Season 4 of The Originals, Klaus is all he cares about. He's such an asshole now.

I don't think so... He always cared about Klaus. At this time in TVD he wanted to kill Klaus because he somehow belived that Klaus had killed all his family (Rebekah and kol) and at this point Elijah thought that Klaus was so damaged that he can't be redeemed but Hayley's pregnancy gave him hope...but he always cared about Klaus even when he was going to kill him for his own good so that he shouldn't do more wrong things. And he cared about him from season 1 of originals till the end when died by his side believing Klaus had redeemed himself.
The question now isn't if Elijah's gonna kill Elena (he's not, he needs her alive), its whether or not he'll kill her friends for what she did. And we KNOW he is at some point gonna come back to life.
Elijah had a soft corner for elena because he Loved Tatia which of course was role played by Nina Dobrev.. they looked alike so that's why Elijah couldn't harm Elena even if he wanted to..later in season04 he dated Katherine(which is also elena's Duplicate, the evil onE) for a while😂 but again Hailey came and he was blown away
Did they ever explain why Elijah wanted to kill Klaus at this point in time? I couldn’t remember any moment in all of the episodes from both shows where they clarify why Elijah wanted to kill Klaus in season 2.
Kate Reilly - but that’s just it ... Season 2 is like a parallel universe. We see later on, they lived happily in New Orleans until 1919. We see that Elijah CHOSE not to help Mikael kill Klaus. He’d always choose Klaus over Mikael. Elijah had always been dedicated to Klaus’ redemption. And no matter how mad or angry Klaus got, he never would’ve dumped their bodies into the ocean. It’s not even brought up again. So, as far as retcons go, it’s a humongous retcon from Season 2!Elijah wanting to kill Klaus with 100% seriousness.
@@winterblossom9546 Klaus mentioned in the originals to Camille that after he daggered Rebekah for not letting her being with stefan in 1920s...after they left New Orleans they split away so that Mikael can not chase them all and so..he continued writing letters to Elijah about their well being by Rebekah's name and when Elijah found out. Klaus told him that he had buried them into the ocean all of them so that they don't ever cause any problem of bringing Mikael to him. After this time Klaus dissapeared like a myth and Elijah's anger grew more and more to kill him.. In the entire century.

I like The Vampire Diaries more than I like Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Which is kinda sad. BTVS has Spike, and TVD has Elijah. If I had to choose between them, I'd choose Elijah. He is so hot and amazing.
