hRdLNE _CEO Now that’s some on the hunt shit, you ain’t lying big Brother, it’s alot of dudes out there who so on the hush with it and you wouldn’t even know
😂😂True but Weebay and Bird was for the dumb shit. Omar changed his whole shit up and left town though. And to the homies point about the Chi, it's like that in New Orleans. Cats use to put hits out on you, or creep solo, catch the body snatchers trying to get low on somebody(s), dude come from the cut, hit the driver first and clean up the rest of them. It's no gang banging, more like ward/project clique claiming.
Jacque Renee Bey applied a whole lotta pressure to Omar’s shoulder though! And then Omar ran to po-po for protection while he was getting Bey’s bullet removed!! Bey made Omar leave town for a while. LOL
@@deb7457 they both kings but avon he has fallen if u watch the show he told u he need to get back right omar he took ppl shit killed them n never got got by anyone
..and the very second before Omar even opened fire, his face lowered knowing he got tricked; might be a little Easter egg to show how quick Avon is mentally
Death Rager you literally plagiarized every line of what you wrote. 😂😅😂 "glorified crew".... you know where that one was nicked from.... don't you? 😏 edit: Oops, I meant Frank Castle. sorry Death Rager.
Only people you really have to worry about from marlo crew are Chris and snoop which I would say wee bay and cutty would of handled that situation , and with stringers smart ass mentality , barksdales crew would of smashed marlos with out a doubt
I think there's only one scene with Marlo and Avon, and no scenes with Marlo and Omar. That's funny considering a huge part of the show was about their drama.
Just goes to show how elusive Avon was to Omar. Omar more so had access to String than A after this attempt. Sure, Omar found out about the funeral home but that was mostly Strings office and the main stash. By that time Avon and his soldiers where mostly holed up at the weapons safe house turning the tables on the war with Marlo.
Chiraq Cmoney so we gonna act like when chris snoop and micheal had him playing spiderman he wasn't shook honestly both times I dont think he was shook I just think it was tactical that's how omar rolled brother had him dead to rights and there was no fear in omar's eyes
It's funny how Wood Harris went from Ace Boogie to Avon Barksdale. Two different characters but still King Pins lol. I miss the WIRE.Avon over Marlo any day
Any day. What would've made this show better is if Barkesdales beat Marlo's crew. Also, his brother Steve Harris was on my favorite show: The Practice.
He loses the basketball game along with his money, gets his product stolen from him, and at the end, he gets shot at. Sounds like the day in the life of a drug lord.
Celtic Dave oh fam i definitely feel you, i was giving wee-bay his props, for hitting the shot with his own injury. (not fan boying out or anything, i remember it's still just a show, LOL)
Celtic Dave Don't forget when Weebay and Omar had the shootout when stinkum got smoked. Weebay's aim was all over the place, that's whey he ended up getting up shot.
If this was In a Movie, people would have been calling this one of the greatest movie scene in history The wire best show off all time. No show captures all of Human personality and instincts as this show
When a gangster slip up. Usually a gangster looks over his shoulder at all the time. He looks both sides of the streets after coming out of the door. Avon didn't do either.
Nah he did look around the first time and then went back inside. Only came out again when he got the second emergency ping. And it only took him a second to realize what was up when Weebey showed back up
Compare how Avon is as a person compared to Marlo. Avon is always friendly enough until you cross him. Offers Orlando a burger. Talks softly "you got my fifties with my fifties and my hundreds with my hundreds?"...not in a threatening tone. Says "goodnight ladies". Seems honestly concerned about Weebay's well being when he gets the 911 call. How would Marlo handle any of that stuff? He would be acting like Orlando will get murdered if the money is wrong. Wouldn't say shit to the ladies. I doubt if he would deep down give a shit about Partlow or Snoop except that theyre valuable to him. If one of them had decided to quit the game, I have my doubts if Marlo would care if they lived or died.
good comment! thats why I think the Marlo is more fit to that game, i mean it goes "only the strong survive" and marlo was that type of character, cold hearted, only using his mind and focusing on making more money and self "survival" if you will. While avon is using more heart, he is still dangerous, focused on money but somehow has more love&respect to ppl that are surrounding him.thats why Avon is more "vulnerable" in some sense in the game than Marlo. Marlo is raw.I watched the whole series and if i can remember Marlo didnt die and continued to stay in the game, while rest of them are dead or in jail. what i mean to say is that ppl with characteristics like Marlo´s have more "chances" to go to the next level in that devilish street game... but I like avon and his crew more, personally!
marlo "chris wont talk as long as i take care of his people" it wasnt shit but business with him..when he invited chris to atlantic city..chris was facial expression was like "yea w/e nigga"
Marlo would have recognized that it was 07(wee bay)code, that Omar used...Which only prop Joe they had gave to!!!Prop Joe should have been dead that night!!!
Big R Marlo had a Gangsters Heart. Always showed love to his inner circle. Recruited and identified NewTalent ( Michael). Took care of his Peoples...just enough.
And he gave him Wee Bey's code. If he would have given him anyone else's code Avon would have went outside immediately . It's amazing how many ways this show can be analyzed lol
If you remember Omar blackmailed him into it. He threatened to tell Marlo who put him on to the card game unless he gave up the number and Wee Bey's code.
I thought the same thing. Back then, where I'm from, you might get a bunch of payphones right next to each other & then none for miles but never two separate ones a hundred yards or so apart. Was this normal in The States or just a plot device?
Dose anyone else get the irony of come at the king you better not miss by the end of the show omar's dead and avons running his prison avons the real king in this situation
sitdowndogbreath Avon stays the king. Omar was a WildCard. He was a thief who messed with the wrong crew. And NONE of their lives were the same after that.
@@deb7457 Messed with the wrong crew? He was surviving the beef with Barksdales and Marlo's crew. The way he died is to drive home how random it all is. Omar was always careful, but he didn't see the shot coming from a little kid.
Everyone is talking about the shooting. The title is incredibly accurate I'm rewatching the series again and I just watched this episode. You see it starts off with Avon and Stringer recruiting a college player to be a ringer in the basketball game between East side and West side. However not only does his team lose because Prop Joe had 2 ringers, on of which was semi-pro, but he also lost 100k to Prop Joe. Then the police tailed him. Then Omar took the stash from the low rise. Now at night he almost gets killed. It really was his rough day.
You can tell by the hungry expression on his face at the end of the episode that that's what he was really worried about, he was like "damn, the tanginess of that sauce combined with the crisp outer layer of the fry and the soft potato-y goodness on the inside as well as the delectable way it gives off little bits of steam and shit after you bite into it is the only thing keeping a true gangsta like me from wigging out from the stress of the life, but if I step out of cover, Omar is going to blast me. Hmmm, cheese fries, Omar, cheese fries, Omar, cheese fries...." I bet when the episode cut and faded he was just about to call a truce, a cease fire, right then and there with Omar where they would both walk to the middle of the block, set the bag of cheese fries down, stow their weapons, and get down the real business of eating those shits, because they know that their petty squabbles over drug trade violence are as nothing when you're dealing with a big bag of fresh, piping hot, homecut cheese fries. But that's a level of social realism not even David Simon had the courage to face up to.
LOL, yeah I'm good, I've been on it now since Feb '17 and went from 285 to 203 currently. I was just joking around there. It's weird though, I still feel fat, or rather as fat as I was, it's like my mind still hasn't caught up to my body yet. I'm "spiritually obese".
you ever notice that the music on the wire was the best when the barksdales were in power? For example, in this scene it sounds like The Roots, and in others i recall Talib Kweli and Blackstarr......Cut to season 5, and Chris is bumping Ay Bay Bay and Lean Wit It Rock Wit It...
@@aa-.-477 Omar didn't want no problems with Bird too, that's why he played the police on Bird. That was smart of Omar because he knew he couldn't deal with both Bird and Wee Bey after him.
2:47 - aww...even those that's meant to be comedic relief, that is a seriously tragic scene. Boss man is trying to make an important call but was a few seconds too late. Meanwhile, his subordinate but also friend, struts up all excited that he could surprise his friend with some cheese fries. He was so thrilled about it you know there was a reason for it - was probably Avon's favorite. He knew that and was happy he got his homie the sort of gift only someone who was a true friend could - or would even know to- give him - a grip of the grub Avon most favored yet wasn't expecting - a genuine surprise present. But the game is the game, and excitedly busting out of your car to announce to your friend you were surprising him with one of his favorite snacks...nearly got him merced on a corner. We're all people - well, 90% of us. There are some soulless m****f****rs...but generally? Soldiers, civilians, junkies, gangsters...we're all people, man. And we're all trying to do the best we can for our friends at the end of the day. And that's what's so tragic about what the Wire portrays - it's mostly genuine human beings killing genuine humans beings - all have flaws, all make mistakes, but there are only a few real monsters in there. And this scene, at least to me, demonstrates the innate humanity present in everyone...but in this sort of environment acting like a human, even by doing something as minor as being kind to your friend and being a bit excited to give him the fries you bought him...can get everyone you know and care about killed.
Definitely. I would have loved to see Week Bey and Bird take out Chris and Snoop. Even though I didn't particularly care for Chris I liked him a little bit more when I saw that him and Wee Bey actually started kicking it in prison.
Bey and omar had a cupple shootouts!1 woulda loved if bey had stayed out a little longer.. him and slim charles woulda been serious muscle for barksdale.. woulda loved to see bey smoke chris n snoop
Bey, Slim and Cutty would’ve been a formidable team. Even though Cutty was basically a good guy, he could’ve kept them out of shit like shooting up Kima.
Looking back on it, Wee Bey and Mouzone the only ones who could actually catch up with Omar. Wee Bey may have been late to the spot but the fact he even had a clue where to find Omar is hella decent enough and Mouzone was smart enough to know track down a member of his crew without knowing Baltimore that well.
