A theme with Marlo's crew I don't see discussed enough is that they are almost entirely hostile to femininity as a concept. Chris plays the gentleman to assassinate a woman alongside a song about a woman's worth, Marlo sexually mutilates a woman with bullets, and Snoop is incredibly butch to the point she behaves in a stereotypically male manner sexually (the jail talk where she says she's thinking about pussy too) up until she dies asking Michael about her hair. As much as I hate the term "toxic masculinity," they really embody it within the context of the gangland environment

Chris killing that innocent woman, is one of the most heartless murders I've ever seen on TV. It actually bothered me. The least Chris could have done, is brought somebody who was a problem for Marlo Stanfield's crew, and murked them instead. I know that's kind of cold-blooded too, but that comes with being in the game. This woman was just doing her job, making deliveries. And Chris killed her like it was nothing. I got the feeling that if Marlo asked Chris to murk his own mama, he might not do it. But he would probably give thought to it, because Marlo asked. Heartless bastard. 💯

@Honesty First Yes, I know it's a TV show. Duh. You mean you've felt real and genuine emotions, from watching a TV show or movie? Good or bad? If not, then that's you. And know that The Wire is one of the best of all-time. If not the best ever. 💯

@Honesty First You're missing the point. There are moments in entertainment from tv shows, movies, plays, books, etc. that can make you feel all types of emotions. Happy, sad, angry, wanting to laugh, etc. Some of them may come from stories of fiction or non-fiction, but it doesn't make the feelings less valid, if it comes from fictional books, shows, movies, etc. The killing of this innocent woman, bothered me because while this is just acting on The Wire, I know these type of unfortunate things happen in real life too. That's not to say I took the scene to heart after it happened, it was just disturbing to see, that's all.

@Honesty First I didn't dwell on what happened in this scene, it just bothered me to see this innocent woman getting murdered so cold-blooded when I saw it. But I didn't stay up all night unable to sleep because of it, because I know it was just acting on a TV show. You seemed to think I didn't know that, and realize this show is for entertainment. And that fiction in a lot of cases, is influenced by real life. Which I did and do, of course. I was just explaining to you, why I felt bothered by this at the time, since you didn't seem to understand it. But your if say this scene of the woman getting shot didn't bother you, ok fine. That's you. That's your reaction. We all have our own ways of reacting to situations. But it's not that I took this scene to heart, because I was bothered by it. It's just a disturbing scene, even now. That's all.

What makes this scene worse, is that if Marlo and his crew did just a little bit of homework on Omar, they would've known killing a delivery lady in a corner store doing her job wouldn't make sense to the police, and therefore would be unnecessary. Everyone in Baltimore should've know that Omar HAD A CODE. He even revealed this to the world when he testified against Bird. i think chris screwed up here, it showed that he didn't really know what omar was all about. he made the whole robbery seem amateurish and killed an innocent lady which omar would not do. now he didn't know that omar had bunk to look out for him but any quality detective would've seen through that shit. p.s. i remember in season 5 chris was worried that omar might go after his family. again chris just doesn't get omar.

Chris wasn’t evil he just had a programmed mind set, he also tortured Butchie and killed the security guard that confronted Marlo “ you think it’s one way”. What ever the order was, as cold as it was, he would see it through. Most likely was military trained.

This was crazy to me. I stopped liking Chris after this scene. I thought there was a little bit of honor with him over any one else in marlos crew but he was exactly like all the other hitters there. She was just some woman doing her job. It could've been anyone who walked in there.

@tcmfan124 they were looking for dead bodies. After the fall of the Barksdale Organization is season 3, Marlo became the new drug kingpin. Unlike the Barkdales, Marlo thought that killing and disposing people in the vacants would bring less attention from the police. The police were clueless as to where the bodies were found.

@goceltics339 To me this is even worse than the security guard; because he smiled right in that lady's face while helping her. Then just a few seconds later shot her for nothing. That is just to evil for words.

Man I'm glad Chris saved Andre at the last second before Omar was about to shoot him. I'm sure Andre would've included that part in his police report but Chris is too humble and wanted to give Andre the credit for trying to save her life.

Chris is an emotionally damaged sociopath, in part because of being abused as a child. It's interesting though that Michael, while also having been abused as a child, maintains a moral compass. The Wire really creates realistically complicated human characters. Many similar none the same.

Micheal probably let his brother be his moral compass. Chris should have used his daughter as his moral compass.

@@andrebryant5081 that’s a very good point. Michaels with Bug every day taking care of him, it’s sort of implied chris only stops by his kids for visits

@@dylanhom58 Yea but sadly it implies at the ending scene for Michael he becomes ruthless since Bugs with their aunt now. Meaning Michael might only visit whenever he got money to give his brother. So Micheal might get money by any means.

He shot her directly in the heart she was dead before she hit the ground. No head shot so her people could give her an open casket funeral. He tells her she's good to go, when people say the term to go they are referring to death,I'm not ready to go,I don't want to go like that. He was like the Grim Reaper in this scene

I know this sounds random but a character like Chris Partlow would be an intriguing fight in the Dexter series. Imagine a trained psycho trying to find/kill the other. Dexter was taught by his cop father. Chris has speculated military experience. That showdown would be a barn burner. Real shit?

@PlaceholderName9 But, yes I do understand that Omar did break the rules of the game by falsely testifying against Bird and snitching to the cops. But, that was Omar, not Avon. Avon was true to the game till the end. Avon was still a killer, but at least he had a code that he never broke. Omar had a code too but he didn't abide by it fully. However, Marlo had no code. It was all his reputation and his name on the street. Being a kingpin and rich all reinforced his thirst for power.

Yes, I do understand these things. I'm just saying that Chris was even more of a sociopath than the usual run of the mill sociopaths. Another soldier could have done the same job, but maybe he would have felt some guilt about it. You can see that Chris felt nothing over killing a bystander.
