Two rare and exotic gems. Betty and Johnny I used to stay up on public school and high school nights to watch him and my parents would chase me to bed but I wanted to watch this guy just because he is who he was and there will never be another like him. Betty White was another gem starred in a different bunch of shows but I think you see before you two legends that will never be ever replaced sadly missed but never forgotten.
They will never be equaled. Betty White was unparalleled and Johnny recognized his own comedic skills mirrored by her and together they were simply the best
She was in her late 60's or early 70's here yet she was still quicker than a whip. This woman was an absolute titan of entertainment and I'm so glad multiple generations appreciate how amazing she is and was.
@@joe-zj8js And Sanford & Son and Jefferson's, I even watch old school Groucho Marx "You Bet Your Life" 1949-61 funny. Nothing today could touch these old shows
What a gem of a performer. Always spot on, whether doing MTM, the Golden Girls, or just as a Carson guest. Few will ever reach her stardom because she was just one of the best.
I grew up looking at the Golden girls rest in peace Betty White now you're now you're with your husband forever and ever thank you for the Golden girls and I still see this program yes I'm in my 70 I love the show 💖
I used to date Johnny funny on air..as long as he didn't drink..took him que yrs to consumate my British pridish was.. but he could be a demon if drunk ..never with me though I have a great photo with him .I d Should por it if time allows..I Bed right now ..sorry maybe next time..R.i.p.to TWO of the BEST0
To be around such a person elevates the spirit. We should try as much as possible, given the special DNA we've been given, to perceive the world as warm as Betty White saw it.
I wish i could percieve the world like that, but the world is not as warm as Betty White saw it. When i came on RU-vid this morning, the first thing they showed me were some animals (evil heartless people) hitting poor, defenseless kangaroos to death on the sides of their trucks and hanging them on hooks on a car, straight trough the back, while they were still very much alive ffs!! What's wrong with the fairytale world Betty seemed to believe in? Well, i can tell you... It's in the hands of the evil one (1 John 5:19) and that means there is nothing warm, cosy, cute or sweet about this world.
Its amazing she has been on TV since the initial focus group testing to figure out if people would want to watch content on a screen. She also was a civil rights advocate without even intending to. She was told she needed to reduce the screen time given to a black entertainer. She responded that he was talented and his color didn't matter. They would have to get rid of her if they wanted to reduce his exposure. The career this woman had is beyond what anyone has experienced in one lifetime in any industry. Absolutely amazing person.
A genuine good person sweet caring and talented!! She was one of a kind so glad to have seen her many times on the " golden girls " she had a heart of gold and a personality to match!!!!!
She always started n finished with a little sleight about herself. Dolly Parton too. To me it shows confidence and class. Eg, Betty playing the lecherous cougar. 🥰
Betty White was the antithesis of what most people think of as the stereotyped 'vacuous' Hollywood actress/comedienne throughout the decades, and her multifaceted talent in the arena of 'double entendre' has been rarely surpassed, especially in the series, The Golden Girls. We could watch her on the game show, Password, with her late husband, Allen Ludden, and see that she was definitely not a shallow or superficial human being. Personality plus.
Rip miss white you will be remembered forever as such a wonderful woman and a tough woman as well. Heart if gold 💛 Betty could hold a reading of the phone book and id buy a ticket!
This is when TV was good and comedians like Jay Leno were funny. This is the best video clip that I have ever seen! Betty White and Jay Leno: doesn't get any better than this :)
Gosh I get so tired of reading dumb comments like yours. I don't mind reminiscing but seriously, Jay Leno WAS host of the Tonight Show for years and was just as funny and Betty White was the Betty White of old. Stop saying dumb s**t like, "this was when...". You obviously haven't seen much classic TV. Try looking up some of the out takes from the Carol Burnett show. Find the one where Vicki Lawrence was playing mama, Dick Van Dyke and Carol Burnett were trying to keep a straight face while Tim Conway went off-script about the two elephants. Or, all the appearances on the Tonight show by Richard Pryor, Steve Martin, Robin Williams, Dana Carey, Garry Shandling, David Brenner, Jerry Seinfeld, Bob Newhart and Eddie Murphy. This clip is tame compared to some and of course, Don Rickles was always a favorite of Johnny Carson.
Betty was the epitome of a real lady with such class she seemed to draw people to her … I loved her so much… God was so good to us leaving her on earth for so long for us to enjoy her… Her warmth came right through the screen ….she had this magical quality that you don’t seem to see very often she was a gift to all of us and has left her legacy for us to keep enjoying her even though she’s gone… Who can forget that beautiful dimpled smile that went right to your heart… You may be gone sweet and lovely Betty White But you will certainly never ever be forgotten ❤️🥰😍
Seven minutes flew while I was memorized by her stories and the sadness and disappointment when the segment ended so quickly and abruptly. I felt the same when she passed away earlier this year. Thank god she left us such a prodigious body of work as her legacy to keep us entertained after her passing. Thank you and rest in peace Betty White.
I think the key is that Johnny clearly never thought of himself as the star of the program. He was the MC, whose job was to make each guest shine, and do the best the guest was able to do. Today, all the late night hosts have large staffs of writers, and the hosts clearly think of themselves as the star.
Would anyone be upset if Mountain Dew made a special drink called Betty White Out in memory of her and they could use some of the proceeds to help others who need it
Betty was a gem and a treasure. And she was as smart as a whip, too. She played a ditz sometimes, but there was an intellect hidden in there. I recommend you go find her autobiography and read it. Better yet, download the audiobook version. It was narrated by Betty herself. You get the unfiltered Betty White that way.
A rare stone in the ring of Hollywood.Genuine not fake. Her shining heart just made you feel good to know that there are still some people out there like her. She helped make our souls rich and thankful to have known her. A true gift to us all.
What? Betty White and Johnny are class, Leno is and was a scumbag. He agreed to pass on the Tonight Show to Conan then slithered back to steal it from him. Total shithead move. Guess who orchestrated that treachery, Zucker from CNN speaking of weasels. That whole debaclw was the beginning of the end for cool late night hosts.
