Hi Ed. Hope all is well. Did you have that snow shower yesterday? It was a complete whiteout here! Still, glad to be on the right side of it getting warmer. Take care! WST
Mike good to see you brother. Nice of you to take care of Daniel get that saw back going. Reminds me a lot of my Echo cs 310 slow and steady. Take care, Ben.
Hi Ben. Thanks for stopping by. Yea, it’s been too long. You described the saw accurately, slowly, but surely. Not a lot of jump in a 35cc saw. Appreciate you watching and saying hello. Hope all is well in the Crimson State. WST
Great job getting that going. I started my wood business with a Homelite Super XL and a Stihl 028. Wish I still had at least one of them today but both got worn out.
Pete???????? Those were good old school saws! I still have a Homelite Super XL in the shop and once owned a 028 Wood Boss. Technology has come a ways since those classics. Especially, on the antivibration (AV) systems. It allows you to run a saw a lot longer without jackhammer arms. Thanks for watching! WST
@@WSTMike That old SXL was quite a saw. The 16:1 ratio kept the mosquitos away😂😂😂 No chain brake. Solid metal. The only issue I ever had with the 028 was the silly plastic oil pump gears. I’m thinking my next saw will be a 24” Husky 460 Rancher. Thanks for your time reading and commenting Mike!!!
@@peteschiavoni never understood why they went to plastic gears. Alex is in the small engine business and he tells me everything is plastic now. Especially, in these lawn tractor transmissions. He said they are complete junk. You would think if you pay $3,000 for a lawn tractor you would get a solidly built machine. Nope! You will notice I run all older series Husqvarna’s. The very reason is they made them with quality parts that last. I get a lot of flack for not joining the 21st century. Meanwhile, the guy with a $1,000 saw can’t figure out why he has to sell his wife to the small engine shop to get his saw fixed. Different strokes for different folks. I chose to do what I do and everyone else can do what they want. Happy to reply. I enjoy it.
I guess your better half received the RG custom call. Called you in to get to work on the channel. Thanks Mrs Teers! Mike job well done. If that saw is like my ms250. The air filter style is not the greatest. Well any how it’s nice that things worked out for the two of you. Hope things slow down at home so you can make more fun content for us. Have a great one!
THE STAN. Hello my friend. I hear real squirrels and Mrs. Tears impersonating one nonstop in life and in my dreams. As you mentioned, the air filter system on these saws is not ideal. It just takes one partial to gum up the works. Hope to be back at it more full time soon. Thanks for watching and supporting as always. Much appreciated. WST
John!! Good to see you again also. I was going to make the video yesterday, but it was snowing!!! It was a whiteout! Today was much better. Thanks for watching and take care! WST
Ok so we think its you holding a Sthil but we can't tell..🤣🤣 It's amazing how dirt and dibre can end up in places.. The needle and seat channel. Wow never would have thought to look there.. Thank you Mike for fixing it and hopefully you all had a good Easter too..
Hi Daniel. I was hoping it looked vague enough 🤣 It was a very small crevice with a very small piece of junk that was fouling up the works. Oh, the replacement carb was bad also right out of the box. What are the odds of that? I’ll be shipping it out this week when I’m in Chicago. Take care my friend. WST
Hi Brad. Happy to help. Daniel did the same for me. Never been cool before, except for this past winter. It’s a good group and happy to contribute. Take care. WST
Good job on the saw Mike. Iv been off the tube for a little while myself. Work has me crazy busy and just not enough time. Glad to see ya Mike, Take Care my friend !!!
OWTG how are you my friend. Looks like we are both rowing the same canoe. Work is the first priority unfortunately and then family or vice versa. You gotta take care of what takes care of them…. but you knew that already. Good to see you and thanks for stopping by. WST
Greetings Mike, good to see you back at it. Didn't know you repaired saws, I'll send that Farmertec MS660 that I have over to you 😃😃, its back on my work bench, in pieces again. Joke, it'll cost more in postage from Australia than its worth. I think i'll be sticking to the MS462 as my big boy saw until I manage to save up for a "real" MS660. Stay safe. Chris TheRuralProject
Hi Chris. Been awhile and happy to see you. I like to wrench on the side. Most all my saws were built by Alex (son) and I. It’s good father and son time. I do like a good 660 and can see why you would need one in the bush. The 462 is still a good all around saw and I’m sure you’re happy to have it. Take care my friend. WST
Hi Harry P. I appreciate you stopping by and don’t worry, I’m fine. Just taking care of the priorities. My biggest fear came true. Having time to do what I love to do. Such is life. Take care my friend. WST
Hi Tony. Appreciate the awesome comment. Life is a cruel mistress at times. Just have to handle it as it comes. Love to help when and where I can. There are some very good people in this community. Thanks for watching and we will see you again soon. WST
Hi Heinzie. Hope all is well. Good to show proof of life on this end. MWFF may not happen this year. Something came up and I have to side with family over this trip. Sorry to have to tell you. Thanks for watching. WST
@@WSTMike everything good , thanks man. Lotsa small engine repair lately.. ‘69 landlord simplicity sitting for 20+yrs. She rolls nice now … much time invested, fun stuff🤣🤣🤣
@@richysoutdoors2591 Wow! That’s the land yacht of movers right there. Glad to hear you are bringing back the classics. They don’t make small engine like they used to.
Well done Mike!! Glad to see ya back in action. Glad to see the Stihl made it out of the land of Husky in one piece🤣🤣 JK! Real nice what you did for Daniel. 👍🏻👍🏻🐿
TOA! Good to upload instead of download for a change. The Stihl is going out better than it came in. BTW, love the logo. When I see it, I get a calming sensation that not even camomile tea can give. That’s saying something. Take care, brother. WST
Really glad to see you out in the woodyard, especially on such a sunny day! Great job cleaning up the saw, its just about time for us to do the same. Best, David and Rachel from CFS!!!
Hi David and Rachel. Hope all is well and the tours are filling up. It’s been good to be out and about again. The woodyard is finally drying up. I just need to get the splitter done so I can split a lot of wood! Thanks for stopping by. WST
I came here for your log splitter build and I know life gets in the way hopefully you will be able to update us on the splitter some day I noticed it’s been a year but logger wade came back maybe you will be able to do the same.
Hey Bracken, thanks for the note. I do appreciate it. I know my exit from YT was abrupt and I apologize to all my viewers for that. It was not intended to go that way. My position in my company became very, very busy and I had to take a step back from YT. That being said, I know people want to see what I started and the finished product. It’s running and performing as it should. I have split just over 20 full cords of wood so far with it. Keep posted to the channel as I hope to show something soon
I was just starting to like your sense of humor as well. I am actually surprised to see a response the firewood community is the best I have wrote tons of comments on RU-vid and it seems only the firewood community returns with replies so thank you. And I get the work aspect I am a power lineman. Looking forward so seeing your set up I would like to upgrade mine. It takes me a hour to split 1/3 of a cord it’s a rugged split. It’s pretty stout just slow. And again thank you. @@WSTMike
@@brackenprofaizer2601 the reason why we respond in the firewood community is that we are SHOCKED anyone would watch our videos!! I promise I will make a comeback. Let me thaw out first. By the way, made respect for being a power lineman. You have the worst hours on the face of this earth!!
Mike so great to see you back!!!! hoping and praying family is doing well. wishing yall a wonderful easter and great health. look forward to the next one mike
Hey WD30. Now that you are actually 30, how is the nickname working out? All is well here, as I hope with you. Take care and I’ll see you on the next one. WST
Hello Saw Doctor Mike, looks like you diagnosed the problem correctly and quickly, the saw was consuming too many Carbs, everyone knows a balanced diet is much better. Have a nice evening
Hey, it’s the other Mike! I wouldn’t say quickly on this one. It was a bugger and took me a few months with work and all to get it figured out. My son, Alex was a big contributor to the solution. As for the carbs, you are so right! Who new eating a loaf of bread at one sitting is bad for you? So now I balance it with jelly and feel better about my diet. Thanks for watching and take care my friend. WST
Hi Clint. The chain was tensioned properly and easily freewheeled. We played with that saw as much as possible to get it tuned and get the most power. It was well used.
Mike, great work on Daniel's saw! He lives a couple hours north of me. He is a good guy! How do I order a sticker from you? It would be cool to add to my splitter. I don't have a sticker though, eek! Can't wait to see your splitter finished.
Hi Steve. I appreciate the compliment. I new you lived out near Daniel from your videos. If you would like a sticker, just send your address to my email woodsweattears@protonmail.com and I would be happy to send it out to you free of charge. I’ll send it out when I get back from this business trip. Thanks for watching! WST
Hi Clint, Mike is fine. He is working a lot with his real job. He does hope to return to RU-vid sometime before 2030. Thanks for reaching out. We appreciate you. WST crew
Sawdust is horrible for getting into everything. I wish there was some kind of air cleaner system similar to what construction equipment has but on a saw there are size considerations to follow or it would be ridiculous in size.
Nice to see you back at it, hope everything is working out for you, missed seeing your videos. How do I go about getting a sticker for my splitter, it's a rugged made , I know you said your building yours out of rugged made parts, hopefully you can get back to building it, looking forward to seeing it completed, take care
Hi Larry. Happy to make an appearance and glad to be seen. If you would like a sticker you can email me at woodsweattears@protonmail.com and I will get one out to you free of charge. I’m on the road right now, but can get it in the mail this weekend. I’m looking forward to getting this splitter done. Lots of wood that needs to be split. Thanks for watching. WST
Hi Matt, all is well and the splitter is fine. Hope to make a video soon to show it to the world. Work has been the culprit of my disappearance. I miss COVID and being able to only work from home. Thanks for reaching out! See you soon
Hey Jeff. I’ve been tied up tighter than Mrs. Tears at a knot convention. We’ve have a lot going on with work, long camping vacations, Alex graduating and work. My goal is to make a comeback soon. Stay tuned my friend and thanks for reaching out! WST
Gringo freaking Pines, how are you? Daniel scratched my back also, so it’s all good and happy to do it. I’ll be checking the mail. Maybe you’ll send a Husqvarna limited addition 372? If so, I’ll keep it and you’ll never see me on The Tube again!! 🤣 Surely I jest, but that’s what we do here. Thanks for stopping by. WST
So, I get home and I see I have a package from Goodyear, AZ. I only know one person from there and I believe that is you. Can I open this on a video or should I make this a private opening? I really appreciate the delightful surprise. Even if it is a Snickers wrapper and an empty beer can, it’s more than I deserve
