I'm currently getting electrolysis on my face and neck . After the treated area , my skin does go bright pink 😅 but it's only for an hour and then it settles down. I use aloe Vera on the area to soothe for 3 days afterwards too. The scabs for me only appear for maybe 3-4 days and then the area looks okay again. My lady who does my treatment uses a higher wavelength on me cos I am able to take it and she says my hairs are very easy to remove . I actually quite like going 😂😂

Money is a struggle right now but I know I'll definitely get an electrolysis, manifesting it😊

My electrolysist with 40 years experience told me scabbing and pitting should not be a side affect unless the procedure is done wrong, she said she never gets it on her clients

That’s nice but I recently did an updated course in electrolysis and the trainers who have a minimum 20+ experience and are part of the British Institution and Association of Electrolysis (BIAE) say it can be a side effect as it’s the skins way of forming a plaster over the wound. Scabbing can be a light colour so you may not even notice it or it can be a redish colour. I can only share what my training and experience taught me ☺️

With my old electrologist I only had minor small welts where I got it done, and everything was fine in a few days. I went to some one new because I moved and had my upper lip treated for the first time and I slightly got little yellow scabs but always cleaned with benzoyl peroxide face wash so it didn’t really last very long, and now I am dealing with little red looking scars. It’s only been a few days since my treatment but I never had this happen before and have had 5 treatments so far. So I am worried about scarring now. I don’t know if it’s because it’s a more sensitive area.

After seeing the scabbing and hyper pigmentation on the under the chin area we are really scared of touching the face . Really at a loss of how to proceed further but the threading isn’t helpful either because the hair is growing back in 4 days. What’s the solution to this problem? Should she shave her face and wouldn’t that make it worse? Please help with the right guidance.

i often get scabbing. i *never* pick at it and am fine, even though i'm otherwise prone to pigmentation. my first therapist recommended leaving my skin completely alone (no skin care for a while after the sessions) but now I do a lot of gentle skin care and prefer it. the scabs eventually become soft enough to just be washed away without force.

I’m also prone to hyperpigmentation as I have brown skin and starting electrolysis this week. Do you not use aloe vera at all?
@svene.
@svene. 8 месяцев назад
@@MA-yt4xf i actually do currently since i have some at home. but in my personal experience (not an expert) any soothing skin care without fragrance or harsh actives really helps, compared to leaving the skin "dry".

@@MA-yt4xf and with your skin, really be patient. rather go a little more slow than too fast. I'm "beige"/light brown/slightly olive and had to learn that for very dense areas ... 😬

@@svene. yeah I think we have very similar skin tones actually, great to hear your experience thank you! By slow do you mean having the sessions further apart?

@@svene. I agree about soothing skincare over dry skin. I bought aloe Vera gel directly from my clinic so I guess it’s more ‘medical grade’?. Do you use it straight from the plant or is it a product?

Thanks for this. I have a few questions! Where did you get the pictures of the red and scabbing please? Also did you have to ask beforehand to take a before picture? Do people like getting this? Thanks
@melisatesbel
@melisatesbel 8 месяцев назад
The pictures i show my clients are of my own skin reactions that i took pictures of throughout my own journey. One or two of them are from google. It is not optional to take before pictures. It has to be done in order to see progress and for insurance reasons etc. The pictures don’t have to be shared on socials of course, but they will be kept between us ti keep track of results. Some people don’t mind, some people don’t like it but it has to be done x

Also since you mentioned taking pictures before and after it would help a lot of people if you could share them so that people know how much of scabbing is normal on the face. Because it’s really scary when it happens the first time.

@@melisatesbel Thank you so much for sharing your experience and knowledge regarding the issues with the treatment. My question to you is how to manage going out in the public when you are taking the electrolysis treatment? Right now my daughter had just started on the under the chin area and took a break and went back to threading once. But if she goes back and sticks to electrolysis i am sure it will be better in the longer run. Only real question is in your experience does the under the chin area scab more than the chin or the sides of the face? Her chin is really bad but sides of face also has considerable amount of hair which has become coarse due to too much threading (every week). Really looking forward to your response. Truly appreciate your help and advice, TIA

My daughter had done 3 sessions on the under the chin /neck area but had to stop and get it threaded because of some unavoidable circumstances but she did scab a lot on the under the chin area when she was doing electrolysis and hyper pigmentation too. So we aren’t sure if she can ever do it on the sides of the face or upper lips .Does the under the chin area scab more than the actual face? Really looking forward to your response. Her under the chin area and chin is really bad but she does have a lot of hair on the sides of her face as well because of years of threading and not having access to getting it waxed. Really need good guidance as to how to manage going about your life and managing the hair growth in between the sessions. Really looking forward to your response. TIA.

Redness, scabbing and hyperpigmentation can occur and heals in time. It’s hard to give accurate advice without seeing, but if your daughters facial hair is dense (the chin can be more dense than other areas) then I recommend not clearing every single hair in one session. It’s best to do shorter sessions and spreading out the hairs in some cases. Waxing, threading & tweezing is not allowed between sessions. Trimming, shaving or bleaching is allowed but not too close to the electrolysis session. It is difficult at the start of the electrolysis journey, but it gets easier once results start to show.
@shortordercurrycooks4050
@shortordercurrycooks4050 8 месяцев назад
@@melisatesbel Thank you for responding and we are aware of not waxing, threading or tweezing in between sessions but she did it because she thought it’s not possible to continue the treatment. But we know it’s the only solution but also scared of doing electrolysis on the sides of the face because the under the chin area scabbed and hyper pigmentation occurred so much. So my question to you is in your experience does the side of the face not scab as much as the under the chin/neck area because that’s what I read somewhere. Is that true? Is the under the chin area more susceptible to scabbing than the actual face(sides, upper lip and chin)
@shortordercurrycooks4050
@shortordercurrycooks4050 8 месяцев назад
@@melisatesbel Also if you do shorter spread out sessions then how do you take care of the hair that was not removed by electrolysis? Since you are not allowed to thread in between treatments?

Do you still recommend Environ RAD sunscreen? If so, the antioxidant or mineral version?
@melisatesbel
@melisatesbel 8 месяцев назад
Yes RAD is lovely! I haven’t worked with Environ for years so I’m not updated with their new products. There were only two sunscreens, the original and then one for oily skin. They must have come out with many others over the years so maybe it’s best to check which skin type they’re for?
