I wish Sega and Taito etc could see the potential and demand of people wanting arcades in their home. They could build replicas of their old cabinets like Astro City and Egret and so forth, with some modern adjustments, there is certainly a market out there. Instead we got all of those mini cabinets with terrible build quality, they don't even come close to the real thing!
I bought the full size Legends ultimate after watch your review and one other one and it's now my favorite toy in the house. Even more than my ps5 and series x
My ALU arrives Friday, and I'm waiting for the 4K ALP in October, and I wanted the pinball more than the table, then I saw the add on control panel, couldn't wait to play.
I’m hoping you’ll make a video of connecting the Steam Deck to one of the AtGames cabinets. I bought the 1st gen Alu and still haven’t tried connecting a pc to it. Im planning on using the Steam Deck with my Alu.
I would like a video more on Atgames tutorials on coin ups n all, I recently got that 2 player panel with the puck I would like a how to n how I can maximize the use of it, love ur videos n the content u provide my good sir.
I'd be curious how the screws/holes hold up over the years of frequent flipping. Seems like magnets would've been a good option. I have their pinball machine w/ the arcade control panel and I'm very happy with it. They've really upped their game these past few years.
looks legit, I'm looking for an arcade type machine but I don't have room for a candy cab this little machine looks fine and have multiple purpose. I think you even mention that we can plug a raspberry, maybe even a Mister. So for me that's the kind of machine I will be looking for. Thanks for the video
This will be mine once it's released in Canada. I've been waiting for a vertical setup for years now and this is finally it. The shmups crazy in me will be delighted (since while their ultimate pinball machine is available here, the arcade control stick isn't)
If I would ever buy an arcade machine then I would go for one of these. Like having tons of games in one system. I simply don’t have a huge room to put alot of arcade machines in.
i thought the legends ultimate cades were too ugly but after trying out an arcade1up i would go for the legends ultimate cause the 1up feels sooo cheap to me
This is a cool all in one system. I don't have much room and the original Legends Arcade was appealing for that reason. However, this version seems even better. I'd be very happy to get this!
Ultimate 300 games trackball spinners o and 2 player is a plus… mini 150 games 1 player no trackball no spinners no 2 player… only cool thing I like about the mini is the rotating screen is the only plus going for it… hope that helps a little I mean mini is what 400 plus 100 shipping really come out better just picking up the 2 player cabinet… as far as space with the mini you might be shaving literally a few inches if that…
I keep wanting one but I keep thinking about how great my couch feels while stretching out with my feet up. Arcades good for company just needs smokes and an ash tray feels like the 90s
My dude this machine is dope af def much better then the 1 ups I have 4 of them and like u said I’m running out of space this machine have all the games I want in one cabinet gotta have it and if they put the light guns games woooooo that’s a done deal right there
I'd be happy with this one for sure. I don't need to mod it, I just need it to have old arcade games like 1942 and such. I don't need it to have thousands of games. I just need it to tickle my nostalgic nerve from time to time.
Good video mad pix miss the arcades that's what got me into gaming before the consoles then I moved onto the consoles I do mostly emulation on my PC yeah your arcade cab looks great love to have one but that depends on the money situation.great vid m8t.
in future videos can you show us how good or bad it works as controller + screen for HDMI systems? I would love to play Mega Drive games on that thing, and I happen to have the mega drive mini.
My biggest issue with the legends products is the control panel mainboard. The failure rate is extremely high. My legends gamer pro control panel pcb recently died after less than 1yr. Obviously out of warranty now. Many examples of this on Reddit as well. Buyer Beware. The thing that makes me mad is they the product is really fun and I really liked it. But now I need to shell out $200 to buy a new one.
This looks really nice. Especially with that artwork. Nice to see those licensed games too. The rotatable screen seems like it'd be great for classic arcade games and schmups. Too bad it doesn't have a trackball like on the full size version. I'd love to see how you set up one of these for custom content. It'd be cool to see you set up a light gun with this. Now that's a arcade experience that'd be great to recreate at home.
Just seems like they should have made a 3 by 4 screen. Since 16 by 9 isn’t the correct size for any of the included or added retro games. Your always gonna loose picture or have to stretch. And anyone getting this for pinball. Try again there is no feedback and terrible resolution. My opinion is you buy a digital pinball machine if you want to play pinball.
Hope this comes to the UK. Are you able to hook two of these machines together (for 2-player games), and what's the deal with external HDMI sources? Guessing the monitor can display the content but none of the controls would work (if plugging in a Nintendo Switch for example)?
I have the legend ultimate, and 8 haven't dug into it yet, as im trying to go through the full mame library, and get the games i actually want ready for the machine, so that I'm not scrolling through 5 revisions of each game or scroll past a bunch of early 80s games I have no past in. This light gun thing, do they have that iron on the Legends ultimate as well? I'm drooling over some area 51 action
It's cool that ATGames is finally carving a quality niche for itself but these can't be nearly as profitable as the Flashback consoles. Hope they don't go out of business just as they're finally making good products.
Yeah id imagine the impulse buy stuff is pretty good profit, but i wouldnt under estimate what they make on these things. Im sure theyve been doing fairly well, they also have other businesses that are owned by AtGames, so id imagine they are doing alright... but who knows for sure.
Can you add your own custom games? Like for instance I’d want to add Street Fighter 2 Turbo and Jojo Herotage for the future,is adding custom games possible? Does this run on MAME?
Would be cool if someone came out with a USB adapter that allowed you to use the evercade vs on the legends machines. Video would be no problem but the arcade controls don’t use usb right? So there would have to be some sort of usb to whatever adapters to make that happen. Could be a fun way to play all the new evercade arcade titles that are coming soon.
Same complaint I have with the Ultimate - not nearly enough tier one games to make it worth messing with, IMHO. When you have a list of 150 or 300 hundred games, you ought to be able to find more than a half dozen you would play regularly. I wish someone would come out with a Williams cab. Defender and Robotron in the same cab? I wouldn't leave home for days.
This is already really cool, but Coin Ops X sells me on it! Can't wait to see you tear into it! Definitely interested in how well the Coin Ops works like any limitations, how it handles the obvious stuff like the little game box for the other day and things as such.
I don’t know much about tech, but does anyone know if it’s easy to get one of those usb plugs that contain the multitude of games? I want to have other arcade classics like Stargate, galaga, donkey kong, etc. Is it hard to get? Can you just flat out buy something like that or do you need a pc?
Was torn between the larger legends ultimate and the iircade dragons lair. Went with the Dragons Lair bc it looks so good and I like the games on their store.
Ah yes, Disney's Aladdin and The Lion King the arcade? What? Like I get that it can run pretty much anything just keep the art to arcade stuff. It's an arcade machine. If I had some cash laying around this does look like a decent investment though!
I once saw, at my regular arcade as a kid, an arcade machine running The Lion King! Must’ve been a self-made “pay by the minute” cabinet. I hear those were common in Russia at one point in time. (I live in the UK and was born in 87)
Totally agree about the artwork. Though I do recall a bootleg of Super Mario Bros. in an arcade in Hastings, UK. It wasn’t a Playchoice 10 either. So console games were sometimes bootlegged for arcades.
The biggest flaw with this is only 1 player. Fighting games are not the same. Beat em Up games are not the same. Bubble Bobble is crap without 2 players.
Ive got the tetris model of this cab locked in at 300 bucks.. but since then ive bought the alu.. Its awesome , But not as much As there Pinball machine then my 13 1ups and 1mvsx... someone stop me...lol
@Johnny Shmupper Oh yeah, out of the box they're not for me either-- I'm saying I'd rather remove the guts of an A1Up and replace with an emulation PC or Raspberry Pi. And I haven't had any "wobbly" issues with the build quality, but some might! Mine has 3,000+ games and is still quite sturdy after 3+ years of heavy use. I just don't care for the looks of the AtGames products or the 16x9 monitors and having to use a secondary interface for CoinOPS X. I want my machine to boot up directly into the image I'm using.
@Johnny Shmupper Fair enough indeed, but come on... the ALU and ALM both look like hot garbage. The artwork is laughable. I own the Legends Gamer Pro and I love it, but I would not put their cabinets in my house unless I had just given up as a human being. And the 16x9 display is not how retro games were intended to be played on an upright cabinet.
