FlyFishRC Volador 2 frame, designed for 5” freestyle, is an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced pilots. This frame, compatible with the DJI O3 Air Unit, has gained attention for its performance and community engagement. The Volador series of frames cost in at $65 USD which is not budget like the TBS Source One v5 at $30 but not Expensive like the ImpulseRC Apex at $95
The FlyFishRC isn't just about selling products; they focus on building a community around their drone frames. They've proven that listening to community feedback is a key strategy, resulting in improvements to the Volador 2 frame and a new 2406 motor in an unusual size.
The Volador 2 frame build process is straightforward, with aluminium washers included to protect screws from damage, flexible mounting options for different cameras, and new TPU arm guards for a cleaner setup. With countersunk screws and versatile battery pad options, it's user-friendly and efficient.
However, the flight experience is where the Volador 2 truly shines. The 2406 motors offer more power and responsiveness, ideal for freestyle flying. Pair it with a larger battery (1300mah to 1500mah) for optimal performance.
Despite its commendable features, there's always room for improvement, such as countersunk screws for the bottom plate and more color combinations for the aluminium washers and TPU kits. But overall, there are no major red flags or fatal flaws to note.
