I wonder if it’s 20th Century Fox that’s holding up the works on this because none of the Marvel characters they own the rights to are on MvCInf. That means no Wolverine, no Storm, no Cyclops, no Psylocke, no Rogue, no Magneto, no Sentinel, no Doctor Doom, etc. I dunno, maybe I’m wrong about that.

@@jerms_mcerms9231 I know, they received full acquisition back in March 2019, which is why just about every MvC2 fan is scratching their heads over why MvC2 is still unavailable for purchase. I read somewhere that Disney signed on certain characters to MvCInf because those were characters who were also involved in the MCU, and they have yet to figure out how to incorporate X-men and the Fantastic Four into the MCU in this post-Endgame stage. Personally, I say “screw that!” They have the rights, the game already made, and the hyped-as-hell market, so they can release MvC2 again and they’ll probably make enough in sales to budget another MCU movie.

and its not like they haven't had multiple chances to give this game a proper rerelease. i have no idea what Capcom was thinking not rereleasing this games when they reacquired the Marvel license for MVCI and considering they just left that game dead in the water the least they could have done is rerelease the older games while they still held the license

@@evenhartwick4422 cause they didn’t have the rights to the X-men Characters since Fox was the owners of the X-men franchise at the time. Disney has since bought the X-men rights along with a shitload of Fox properties and media, it’s all Disney now so maybe the time is now to try and get the license again to make either a NEW Marvel Vs Capcom game or a Remake of 2.

I feel like Bob Iger or Kevin Feige if they knew about this problem they could fix it because they care about the fans.

They wouldn't do crossplay. They'd have to design and internal online platform for it to use like CFN. Every game with cross play has a separate service you need to be registered on. It wouldn't happen

It's because it's a different license. They got permission to release the arcade cabinets as merchandise or toys. They have a limited, agreed upon run as well.
