*and this is why i love watching Sir Huberman's podcasts on RU-vid🙇🏾‍♀️🙏🏾💥💫. Knowledge, broken down to make sense to regular folks. I view our body like a vehicle, if we drive it around, not addressing the engine light, throwing water in the gas tank, not changing discpads when we hear the loud screech etc, our car is going to be run down pretty quickly. I see Andrew like a mechanic, giving us insight on not just the pretty shell we see/have, but the knowledge of a spark plug, fuse, engine block, piston, under the hood. We need to know more than just how to 'drive' our bodies. We need to understand the fundamentals and how to maintain it, and when to go into the dealership 🙏🏾. I’m almost 40 and trt changed my life out of depression. Doctors just said I have major depression disorder and left it at that even though I had a lot of testosterone related symptoms. Eventually a doctor ran test and saw they were at the bare minimum for normal range. We found my body likes 20mg cyp with diabetes syringes every three days and I don’t get high estrogen. My dose is lower than most people per month but if I go higher it converts to estrogen so this level is perfect. Been a few years and my mood is so much better along with my energy, sex drive and all.

Its interesting also how the medical views differs. Sweden are quite restrictive. So much that women who have issues due to hormones are considered ”normal” in Sweden but considered ”not normal” and get treatment in Finland. Getting treatment for endometriosis have alse been very hard in Sweden while its much easier to be diagnosed and treated in Great Britain. Same goes for certain vitamins. Like vitamin d for children. In Norway the advice supplementing children for longer than Sweden. I assume this goes for other countries also, some being more restrictive on certain things than others.

interesting point about the finasteride, which I started taking November 2020 or so... I understood about the 'blocking' aspect before I decided to go ahead with it, but I can't really say it's affected my libido that much; however, if I join the dots I can see my overall 'fitness' performance has been slowing down over the last 20 months, but I have been doing if that was an age thing (I'm about to turn 42 in a couple of months)!? i've done TRT mostly because it makes lifting less painful. elbows and shoulders mostly. It has strength benefits obviously but it does NOT provide permament hypertrophy on its own. Lifting and eating a lot still does that more than test. You will go up in weight during the cycle but good luck keeping that post cycle unless you eat and train like crazy. I appreciate Derek's contribution to the general knowledge about this topic

thats the thing about trt, if you do it without lifting, you gain muscle, but loose this again if stopping, right? But if gaining muscle with lifting (and or without trt or testosterone) then the muscle get bigger and kind of stay there more permanently or least they easier come back if starting training later without trt or test, right?

I think that channels such as MPMD have changed the discourse around the significance of testosterone and estrogen, how they function in our bodies, and the legitimate outcomes (good or bad) of augmenting their levels. I believe this speaks to the relevance of free speech towards exploration of new areas of knowledge and the importance of scientific rigour, as opposed to damning, or exalting certain practices based on emotional or subjective experiences. I don’t take steroids, but I have found Deryk’s videos to be informative and balanced. As an addictions counsellor, I like to take the same stance with all drugs. How do drugs benefit us? How do they harm us? What is it that has made my client decide that the drug has caused them more harm than good? How can I go deeper into informing my client of the pros and cons of said drug? How do they move forward, in the way that works best for them, whether that is abstinence, harm reduction, maintenance, etc… I find it best to be honest with my clients and not judge them for their choices. All I do is inform, from the science that I know, act as a mirror, and help direct a client where they want to go. I remember seeing the old drug commercials and thinking “these guys are so full of shit” and they were. This led me to underestimate the ill effects of illicit drugs because I did not believe the propaganda. Luckily I studied actual science on drugs that got me out of many of my addictions. Yes, I still struggle with addictions. Sugar, social media, and work addiction are things that I still struggle with.

i used testosterone from age 20 until 30. Got a massive liver tumour, removed at age 31. 16 cm, 2.2 kg (5 lbs tumour) The liver has lots of androgen receptors too, a lot of bodybuilders get tumours there. This is something no one talks about. Be careful.

@@AdamMc192 @Naveed A Adam you'd be surprised Derek goes over these prescriptions these "Well Educated" endocrinologists have written. I've taken a look as well. It's hard to believe some of these people have a license, I'm convinced most cheat their way through school. I've picked the brains of several doctors and realized Most (not all) are idiots, can you blame them 8 years of school and a residency, you would have to REALLY love what you're doing to give a crap that long, and not forget about the oath and want to party the second they get their first paycheck. People wonder why they have problems, suffering from depression etc., when you look at the prescription. Vwalla Most of these doctors are just Glorified Big Pharma Reps. Andrew is definitely hiding behind the Stanford Name on this one. Chris why would Andrew be brought this topic a Neuroscientist and Admitted "I'm not an endocrinologist - Talk to your doctor" it's clear how hesitant he goes through the distant study he's read he has no F-ing clue what's going on about this topic.
