well the only exception is if YOU also cant swim, because if you cant swim and jump in to try save someone you just kill both of you lol, even someone who CAN swim cant so easily bring someone else out, there is a difference between knowing how to swim and being able to carry a heavy fainted person out of the water at the same time, tho if you can swim you can at least help that person to stay afloat but best would be to first call the emergency so they coming
