Nice camerawork and editing - genuinely good - effective but not overdone. Audio would benefit from being clean without any background music at all - it’s distracting. (Music in foreground in sections is done very well). I like the little crash zooms used in the talking head shots and style of presentation is good and engaging. Most important of all, this is well constructed, well told narrative that carries one along in an engaging informative and entertaining way. This channel deserves many more subscribers.

I don't know squat about 3-D printing, but this video was so dang enjoyable to watch - well done Spencer!

I have saturn 2 and the flex plate i love it. I do relevel the bed every 4-5 prints as the 2 screws seem to not work on keeping it level over multiple prints. I did not make the space i just reset the zero option when i re-home and leveled the bed every time i need to. I printed a lot on here and i not had the magnet come loose yet and i had pieces that over a lb in weight on here.

I've heard a lot of complaints about the ball and screw method that the Saturn 2 uses. While I agree that it's not the best, somehow, I've never had an issue with it. That one month I mentioned that the printer continuously ran, I didn't level it once! Thanks for your input!

Personally, so far, I just use a 2nd build build plate on my gktwo. Swap them out after a print.

Once I start using my GkTwo more (it’s not enclosed like the Saturn2 so the fumes are an issue for me with my current setup) I’ll probably go that route as well. I wouldn’t want to mod it as it’s already awesome. The Saturn 2 I felt comfortable messing with since it’s on the cheaper end these days

I tried simliar product for Halot One, directly made by Creality. I had many, many failed prints. One cause was the pull-tab scraping the edge of the resin vat. The second one was the peeling force being too big and the plate separating from the magnet :/ I ended up removing it off the printer. But I cannot imagine not having flexible buildplate on my FDM printer :)

Sorry to hear! That's a good point though. I could definitely continue resin printing without a flex plate, but it really is unimaginable not having one on my FDM!

I'm curious about the durability of the adhesive on the maget atfer a couple of months of resin exposure and IPA cleanings. Idea is pretty neat though. I personally woud machine some grooves/holes on the top side of the build plate, glue some realle strong magnets there and then have the two options, (with and without steel sheet), just in case for those parts that cover 95% of the buildplate (in one single part).

I am curious as well haha! I definitely don't plan on placing my build plate in IPA which I hope helps. Instead of machining the build plate, you could just get a second one that doesn't have the magnet installed. I think what you described would be very challenging and require incredibly strong magnets

@7:55 Sorry, for the stupid question, since I haven't started printing with my own resin printer yet… Is this clean result _directly_ taken out of the printer? Or did you already wash off superfluous resin at this point? These edges look razor sharp. On other channels, their results look rather muddy at first when taken out of the printer…

Hey, not a stupid question. And welcome to the resin world! Yes, that’s straight from my printer! No washing done yet. It could be that my resin is less viscous? The print is also stunning when it is covered it uncured resin. Once it’s washed it looks more matte as you can see later in the video. I’d like to experiment with using alcohol based inks to make the parts look shiny like they do at that time stamp.

@@SpencersDesk Hello, Spencer, thanks a lot, I was not sure, it looks really great. I did not dare starting with mine yet, since I do not have the needed temperature range in that room in winter times - and no vat heating installed either ;-) I am looking forward to watching your next videos, see you ;-)

When you take it out of the printer it looks like there is 0 resin residue on the prints what the hell mine come out fully coated
@SpencersDesk

Haha, I think that's just the nature of transparent resins. They come out looking stunning. I imagine you're using opaque resins?

Even if I was getting kickbacks for this video, I’m not sure they’d be paying very much for a 500 view video😉
