All the points in the replies are so true. Plus she gave up going to Harvard. That could have opened up a world of opportunities and make her short life enjoyable to the fullest extent. This would convince me to go through with the abortion like come on. Plus she did just graduate high school. The biological father of the child obviously isn't eager to help. Her mother either doesn't know or also wants the fetus gone because she's wants her to drink coffee. Does she have a support group? It failed to make any case to why keeping the fetus would be a good thing. I'm pretty sure a pro-choice person went undercover to show pro-life arguments make no sense because if not it's embarrassing. Like really why didn't they make her life seem miserable before but after keeping it she had a great life, then got into college, then found new meaning in life. Like come on???

So let me get this straight. They want a 19-year-old to give up her dreams, have a baby and settle on dying and not having her dream fulfilled? She got 11 years and they don't even tell her WHAT type of cancer it is. Is it cervical, brain, lung, breast? That could have helped her with trying to make sure she focused on herself so she wouldn't die. What's to say that by her having this kid, she focused so much on making money to provide as she had a high school degree and most level entry jobs want you with a college degree. This means she worked herself as a racehorse to keep a house over the head of this kid. And do to that, she ended up neglecting her health, like a lot of women do and ended up getting cancer and dying. Leaving her child without a mom but making sure to let the audience know that women A.) are just vessels to bring forth life and B), we have no authority over our bodies once we're pregnant and our lives end and we should be willing to die for this thing that we may not want.
@rgs8970

What if she switched her line of questioning to Madison? Suddenly she's like, "what kind of cancer? What was the date of diagnosis? What kinds of treatment did she receive?" If that 1985 guy has two years to collect his evidences, why can't she take her time to prevent her own death???

And the fucked up thing about this is she's prob staying in a hotel bc she had to travel out of her county or even home state for access to care, and she had to get a place overnight bc there is a mandatory two-day waiting period since they don't think women are able to come to an informed and thought-out decision about their own healthcare. :)

The reason we are Christian is to trust fully in Jesus. Faith is the only thing that pleases God (Hebrews 11:6), yet people are lack faith in God. Without Faith, how can we expect to see the miraculous. What is cancer to God? Why has fear crippled so many people, rather than trusting in the God created you in the first place?

Yep, totally gonna have this baby, so that I can never go to Harvard, die in 11 years and leave my young child parentless and having to work for minimum wage at a dingy café where she'll meet the love of her life, the son of a murderer. Sounds like maybe I should keep it!

Ok but if she didn’t have a child, went to Harvard, became a lawyer, and then got good money maybe she would be able to afford better cancer treatment and then live past 30?? Instead of raising a child as a single woman with no college degree who ends up orphaning her poor child. I feel like this is doing the opposite of convincing the audience to be anti choice

Just to say, if movies like this really wanted to get a pro life message across, show a girl that's pregnant what a healthy relationship looks like, what a good support system looks like, how to make friends with other moms ect. Shaming and doing these underhanded scare tactics don't work and makes someone feel riddled with guilt. Crap like this always ends with a woman having a baby but stops at showing what her life as a potential single mom looks like afterwards.

Lucifers name is Lucifer Morningstar! And as far as whether or not I'd keep the baby, the second I heard "Harvard" and "drops dead at 30", I would be in the clinic so freaking fast god himself would be scared. Why the hell would I want a kid to watch me waste away. And like someone else said, who's going to be Madison's guardian? Knowing that I was a great mother would be comforting, but there's really too many questions.
