No Chinese culinary choices surprise me anymore. I am a survivor of having seen cooking oil being made from raw sewage. I am tempered, if you will. Like Damascus steel. I can handle anything now. My cringe and disgust mechanisms are so tough they have calluses. Which can be quite helpful in life. Thank you, China.

You can find authentic chinese food, its just not the sugar chicke. type that sits under a warming light. That said chinese food isnt that good imo. They put the same 3 spices with chili oil on everything, I like chili oil but not everything has to be dyed red with it lol Thai people won this war, their food slaps harder than Korean, Chinese and Japanese food combined.

I would never go to China. You can't eat the food, you can't drink the water, you can't even breath the air! I wouldn't even go into one of their buildings or ride in one of their cars, and it is obvious you can't trust the people.

It's not due to a "lack of governance", no amount of governance will fix this. It's a lack of morals and principles at a fundamental individual level throughout society. There is no accountability because holding someone accountable is considered cruel in a society fixated on saving face instead of having the slightest concern for saving their immortal souls.

From my experience of dealing with the Chinese take aways in my country, the one big negative thing I know about them is that they idolise money, they are mean and would never ever consider giving money to a charity. All they live for is money. Many times I saw them refuse to let a customer off with as little as ten cents . Never EVER get into a relationship with a chinese woman because all she is interested in is your money, and that you can support her parents after she marrys you...

The indifference to suffering in some Asian countries is what concerns me most. Bile bears, the Yulin dog festival, ikizukuri, live animals in plastic keychains, skinning alligators alive to preserve their flesh, and, apparently, eating baby mice alive?? America and its horrific factory farming, puppy mills, and small pet trade isn’t free from criticism. But, good god, to revel in the cruelty? To enjoy suffering? It’s another level.

Why the concerns? It's simply the course of nature in different biomes. It's the same thing with animals; many hail from the same genus, but behave and look differently. Humans are no different. It's better for your sanity this way. Otherwise, you grow to resent everyone and everything around you.

I did work for a guy who married a Chinese lady. He imported goods from China and he used to tell us some stories. There was a time in a bar he was sat drinking with locals. They kept putting their hands in a jar and taking out and eating these little pink things. He asked what they were and they handed him one. He the realised they were eating pickled Baby Rats.

You know what's the weirdest thing Many virology labs in certain western countries had a Chinese person at the top. The west is way too trusting. I remember the beef steak made of mouse meat in the Guangdong restaurant! When I went to the toilet, I passed the restaurant and asked the waiter what it was on the ground. The waiter had already met for more than a week. He secretly took me in to look! I vomited all night that night, and I dared not eat in any restaurant in China again! I also heard that local workers said that western China is more terrible. Some restaurants use expired horse meat and camel meat to make beef steaks. Even eggs are made of chemical raw materials. It is really amazing! 😂

But its not like every restaurant in China is like this. These are pretty extreme cases and China is a huge country with millions and millions of places that serve food..😊 When i traveled across Southern China in 2009, i had a Lots of great food in there. But its true that the situation over there has sanked down significantly during this past decade. Im not sure if i would be able to get any of those foods anymore, that i used to love. And Hong Kong had absolutely the best of the best, that i had during my stay there.

If you've ever been to China you know how big and advanced China is they have high-speed trains that are more comfortable than airplanes at 350 kilometers an hour they can hold a coin upright without falling over they have robotic unmanned hotels they have their own Beidou GPS they have 5g, And their own space station look at the recent 2023 Winter Olympics Hangzhou University Games how much food how much artificial intelligence... This is why so many accounts smear China because they do not allow others to be stronger than themselves. If you have been to China, it is impossible to believe that the world's second largest economy is so backward as described in the video

@@plamenovcharov All of that is definitely edible. It's not something I'd ever consider food, but you'd be surprised at what people are willing to eat if the alternative is not eating at all. You can quite definitely eat almost anything if you boil it and kill the microbes, outside outright poisonous chemicals.

Wow, a country that boasts of its rich history and traditions and has attained economic growth can live like this? It's almost like the adage, "You can't buy class". This is not a criticism of the people themselves but the utter failure of the autocratic government to give the average citizen any motive to strive to not just improve themselves but for the betterment of their society. Instead of a vision of China being responsible and respectful leaders of the world, it has created a society of jingoism based on false narratives, pointing blame, saving face instead of taking personal responsibility, and people out for themselves at the expense of everyone else. This really sad.

Could you talk about what recently happened in China with that new law about banning login rewards and money/lootbox in games? Then just 1 week later turned around, removed the law. And now suddenly the guy that was responsable for the law, has mysteriously disappeared. Is no one talking about that?? They revised the law. So crazy!

Ahhh yeah getting much more than what you ordered and then having to pay for it, we've also encounteres at the Marrakech market in Morocco. I already was curious why the waiters at the tables would suddenly sing and clap loudly when they gave customers the bill. When we received our order, I instantly understood why; so others don't hear their complaints!

I lived in a small city in Jiangsu province. I didn't experience street food ripoffs. The food was (as far as I could tell) fresh and sold at a fair price. I would usually buy food where there were many students, so if there was any funny stuff going on, the students would tell me. The ripoffs I had to worry about were to be found at the checkout counter in the grocery store where the cashier would often grab a handful of items from the nearby impulse item display (condoms, candy, sausages) and throw them to the end of the conveyor belt where I would intercept them. After both the street food sellers and the grocery store cashiers got to know me,I was treated much better. Once, I was in an office supply store to buy a printer ink cartridge. I couldn't talk the woman down, so I bought one cartridge for 175 yuan.. A week later, I came back for another and was sold it at a a lower price. After the third visit, the woman sold me the cartridges for 35 yuan each.

Wow!!!! $106 RMB is RIDICULOUS; I used to carried $300 RMB during my stayed in Guangzhou to spend everyday and it was usually more than enough to have my 3 good meals and even invited a friend or two for a meal during the day and sometimes I would still have money left by the end of the day. I guess $300 RMB is NOT enough anymore, the economy in China must be doing so BAD right now!!!

I had a landlord many years ago from Taiwan. I used to have a large black lab.. one of the best dogs I have ever had, she was so good with the kids! My landlord saw her and told me they eat those in Taiwan.. he said Black dogs taste the best! I told him he cant have her.. he laughed.. told me not to worry.

I only did a transfer through Beijing airport because it was a lot cheaper to fly Air China to go to Korea. Never again in my entire life. Worst airport staff I've ever seen. People were so rude. I didn't eat anything there. It's a shame. I used to love Chinese cuisine, but I can't trust anyone now after seeing how so many people lost all decency.

Wage based price inflation is fine, fake money printing for government programs/deficit spending expanding money supply = inflation. On top of that, large corps take advantage and raise prices further knowing that their cost of borrowing has gone up(interest rate hikes).

They should do an episode on Baby formula being pouched from the west and sent back to china. There was even shortages in certain country mainly America. Why should people in the west suffer because of china's greed and incompetence. They also did the exact same thing before COVID got out of hand. They hogged all the masks in the west mainly N95s. Then when virus really start killing many people in the health industry couldn't even get their hands on N95s and other high quality mask.
