Brands do not care... unless they are Black Owned or POC owned
@kaybee9071

And even then…at some point they may stop caring. Lol

even then...those companies want that larger audience so like the other commenter said they stop caring because they want to sell to a larger market.

Are we really surprised? Till lately the only people of color allowed on these trips were the mixed girlies and ambiguous looking white girl blackfishing to the moon. So I feel like that’s why people call them entitled for not already being grateful to be included already and that’s so infuriating because I’d rather stay home than going somewhere I’m not welcomed, not treated equally or I should bend a knee for being included. As someone who never bought tarte and plans to continue on that road I unfortunately think this is going to continue after this momentary heat. They didn’t care after Rihanna did it they just wanted our coins back in their greedy pockets.

Mixed is the new black especially when it comes to women and girls. Majority of advertisements will show a black man but 90% of the time the “black” woman will be mixed and every interracial couple with be BMWW.
@analea6531
@analea6531 Год назад
@@Untameduniverse00 you are right and that’s is because we allow it. I literally see black people call every ambiguous looking woman black. Look at Amber rose whose mom is mixed and dad is white, yet the black community wants to claim her no matter what

Nars. , Lancôme, vanity fair and Mac always carried deeper shades. However, these brands were out my price range during that time as well. I’m thankful for juvias place due to they’re price range and quality.

The way they JUMPED for Jeffree made me realise almost everything online is performative. Even some of us black people are so used to the level of importance society has placed on us, that we feel more comfortable with him regaining relevancy than newer, young POC men & women blowing up. They don’t want to upset the status quo so they think tearing down creators like you, Cynthia and Bria would keep you “humble”.

1️⃣ giant microsgression ‼️💯 Agree with your perspective wholeheartedly. I’ll only add that most get the point. They simply haven’t the desire to be inconvenienced by the truth UNTIL they are critically forced to deal with it firsthand.

PREACH!!!!! Mind, I'm someone who saw the makeup wasteland of the 80s and 90s first hand. Roaming malls and not being able to swing that price level for Florence Mills or Fashion Fair (because they were the only ones with my shade), while also perusing makeup in K-Mart or my mom's AVON catalog and seeing that nothing would work for me. I am the pre-Dream Mousse generation where the darkest shade carried in the drug store was CoverGirl's Tawny. I'm from the generation that had to go to the Beauty Supply stores because THAT is where Black Opal, Milani (before they came up), Zuri, LA Girl (again before they came up), Ruby Kiss and NIcka K were the only dark-deep friendly makeup available to little black and brown girls and it STILL ran red for most of us. I love my L'Oreal True Match but holy shit the blushes were/are a travesty. Love my CoverGirl Outlast but can't find a blush, bronzer or eyeshadow in that line to save me. Revlon is the same. ELF and I have a love/hate relationship for the same reason. They had a stint of stuff working for super deep shades but then their lipsticks, lip liners and some of their blushes just...vanish. I'm in the dark/deep range of nearly every brand and I have a gold-peach (sometimes olive) undertone so eeeeeverything is a pumpkin on me save one or two shades that I have to zhuzh. When it comes to foundation ranges, I might not be the darkest user but am often the darkest far too many brands make a non-red shade for. And the PullUp challenge has...not had the traction it once did when it started. All those brands that promised the sun and moon and we haven't heard jack all about the changes they swore to make. I don't understand coming for those women who spoke out about the bullshit either. They are shining a spot light on tomfoolery so should be commended, not condemned. My base shades for ref: FitMe Mocha, Coconut & Warm Coconut. TrueMatch W9, W9.5, W10 and C9, Fenty 420, Lancome 500, Juvia's 310 and CoverGirl 875 Soft Sable.

And thank you because all of the black women could have came together to call out the clear racism in that whole situation.

I heard about this drama from another POC creator and I wasn't surprised. I've been following creators in YT space since they made it a paid gig/art and I have seen several non-POC creators have better trips, sponsor deals, and promos with certain brands then people of color. Personally, I don't need makeup but I love watching people wear it and I love seeing the representation of myself via skin tone, body type or hair shown within media and social media. We as a consumer have the dollar vote, so if they won't listen through our words we'll speak with our money.

This needed to be said! Just wish these companies were open to hearing it! So many times I wanted to buy a product and couldnt because I didnt have a shade match. Side note: MAC recently released deeper bronzer that are really nice.

I love your breakdowns 🤩 This video is SoOo on point! I don’t follow the beauty community as diligently as some, but you explained everything so eloquently that I understand the subject at hand & see how all of this slapping “bandaid solutions” over “flesh eating, deeply imbedded, systematic wounds” relates to society as a WHOLE. You’re the bomb! 🤎

the blush point hit hard for me because truly, I am very mid toned (✌🏾) yet I have only ever found ONE blush in a drugstore that wasn’t 30 dollars for a quarter sized pan of blush, and that was the DARKEST shade of elf putty blush they carried(caribbean) and I was so fucking shocked cus how tf do the even darker girls do it, literally every cute little portable nude and blush palette looks like an open wound on my skin :/

Thank you for sharing this information and your options. I'm was one those whom u addressed that hadn't heard about these brands and other craziness. I personally don't wear makeup bt notice the discrepancy when walking by said items. Even more so when searching for sunscreen protection. So seeing a Short for a product recommendation from u was great🙂

but why expect white owned brands to cater to dark skin? We need more black-owned make-up owners, they are quite a few now. Buy and support them not white-owned. Whenever there is a problem fix it ! we can't expect them too. It only matters to white owned make up companies when millions are made, and suddenly they realize theres a large market for dark skin. We now have enough talent resources , and money to start our own. Once they see enough black own makeup companies getting richer that is when they will be force to change. We need strqnger communities outside of white-owned businesses. FOR THAT IS HOW WE TRULY CHANGE THE WORLD . the only color that matters is green! Millionares are made because they solve unique problems .

it’s so sad to see people blaming the girls for how they feel.. i understand both sides that they get everything paid for and they should be grateful and i believe they are but just bc u get free things that doesn’t mean you can’t feel the way you feel. i 100% believe tarte doesn’t care about women and people of color.

This is nothing new when it comes to these cosmetic companies or even trips with clothing brands. There's also the factor when looking for darker shades in stores and having to go to the urban or hood community to find it (or gussing one's shade and buying it online) vs. the product(s) being found at any store location. Even with all this information provided, people will continue to buy from them 🤷🏿‍♀️.

This was very real! But I’m not surprised at the lack of articles about how dark skinned people are the majority. Becuz for one, ITS FACTS! But when we can’t find it, we can’t believe it. This is why we need to see influencers of color everywhere to help us understand how beautiful, powerful and common we are. ❤ Thank you for making this video.

To your Ulta Company point, I know it could be that their demographic have more disposable income and they’re being racist in that way (idk which company you’re talking about) but it could also be that the company started off catering to white people and so the demographic who are more likely to purchase are white people. Still a problem but idk if it was because of financial status of their clientele (and allusion to racism) rather than an oversight to the fact that if you cater to a certain demographic your numbers only reflect that demographic
