The compost toilet! Oh. My. Word. Chasing piglets, Charlie, getting Butters and the girls, pallet trellis's for the cucumbers. That brought back A LOT of fun video memories. My condolences to you, I also lost my dad, on May 23rd. It's rough.

Wow, the house looks beautiful.It has good bones built by both of you. I can see you both canning in the kitchen and having fun in the pool. You had baby bunnies in your bedroom. It hard to leave your old life and move to a new life... I left my home with my Mom & family when my now Hubby and I moved from AL to PA... was very hard to go. I went to visit them about a year later and when I got ready to leave... my Mom said, you aren't upset about leaving this time... I told her..... The first time I left, I was leaving home... this time when I leave, I m going home. You guys have come soooooo far.... bet it was great getting back HOME! Perhaps having gone back to your old home will help with closure. Condolences to all the Stivers. Was lovely watching you all walk around the old place and seeing what had been changed. In the Old house that has been turned into a B&B the quality and finish of the house is top notch. They say never go back to visit a place you have left, but having gone there I think you will now realise what you have got in your new homestead and now it will be a lot easier for you going forward. Good to be together with family at a time of loss, to love one another, share meals, toast loved ones gone to soon and share fond memories as you said. The Stivers Frankfurt Homestead looks wonderful. It’s changed, but tour looked homey and welcoming as it always was. Must have felt good to stay there. A good way to nourish the soul. Good for Wyatt & Raelynn too, they started there and have grown so much over the years. I’m happy cousins purchased your property to be able to go home to visit family from time to time. It is a beautiful home. But yes I remember the old one too. My husband worked for a plumber. Quite a different income. I know, plumbers make well. (My hubby isn’t a licensed plumber.) it is a nice air B&B. Y’all are going thru an Emotional time. Y’all do y’all. Keep strong. ❤

It’s hard to go home.My parents had a lake house from 70sto 01.It was 100 year old barn on 800 acre lake.They made weekend house and then retired there.They bought it for 13,000.That was a lot of money for them.They couldn’t care for the land in old age and dad sold and nearly gave it away.My son now owns property down road so I go by.The remodel took all barn character away,dads yard isn’t how he did it.I have hard time with it.Needless to say if he wouldn’t sold it us kids would be millionaires.Bitter Sweet!

I honestly don't like the updates to your old place. Looks like every "new" home that is built. No character and stale.... I like a home that you can see and feel the soul of it. All these "modern" looking homes look empty and bleek to me. 🤷‍♀️
