I rejected my masculine instinct a long time ago. Just shed it like a skin. Gained some things and lost some things. Life is like that. Everything is always in balance. How you feel it depends where you are. Not saying others should follow but it wasn't serving me.

Me again, thanks to my mother and also one relationship with a severely disturbed girl, I have developed a strong (warped, but working) mechanism of not reacting, and even feeling a kind of pleasant feeling when I see a girl/woman crying (I'm not talking about a child, it's a different category of emotions about the perception of reality). When a teenager or an adult of the 'fairer' sex starts sobbing, I feel quite a lot of satisfaction - let me emphasize right away that I do not contribute to these emotions, I simply observe, either on the screen or in my life, when my partner, due to her inability to influence my decision, its snorting mode is activated.@@spacecandygames7575

My last relationship, about 5-6 years ago was horribly toxic. I finally got the courage to leave when I realized one day how many times I had apologized to her for something SHE had done to ME. The crocodile tears, the silent treatment, the passive aggressiveness it was all to escape accountability for her toxic behavior. So many times I heard "You always yell at me" when I had made the point of talking like you would to a skittish horse.

And if you don’t instantly demonstrate massive amounts of sympathy you are the bad person. Even when they did something really bad. It’s z as nice mix of narcissism and dark traits. Had family friends and their 5 year old granddaughter over for lunch. Something doesn't go her way and she comes to the adults table all distressed big teary-eyed crying her lungs out. I of course switch into the concerned "Oh poor you, what is wrong how can I make it better" mode, but the grandparents knowing exactly what is up, turn it in a joking and laughing dismissive sort of way. Odd. As soon as she figures out that the manipulation is not working the red crying face turns off in a second and she starts laughing with them. That was shocking. The grandparents later explained how she started doing this whole manipulation through crying recently when she doesn't get her way. I was flabbergasted completely. I failed this test ... to a 5 year old. Now imagine a grown woman.

I don't feel anything anymore when women cry, or appear to cry. This is due to a an exgirlfriend I had some years ago. I learned from her that women can cry on queue and they use it to get what they want out of men. Now, when a woman cries, I just sit there and wait for her to realize I'm not falling for it and then BOOM! The crying instantly goes to anger which was always there in the first place.

Is it bad that I felt nothing when those girls were crying? Not to me. I'm no longer the white knight in shining armor riding in to rescue the damsel. My armor is bent and bloody. Having to bring myself back from the brink without anyone's help, I'm now a diamond and it's going to take more than tears to break this shell. I used to be this way. I was stupid enough to treat my daughters the way you're talking about, and it's ruined them for their husbands. I treated my wife this way, and she left me bankrupt and destitute while still having to pay for her and her boyfriend's lifestyle. Never again. I'm not going to intentionally make you cry, but if what I say does, that's your problem not mine. Be an adult and handle the truth or go back to your girlfriends and wallow with them in the pigsty of delusion. FTW

My older sister would do something bad to me (ie; hitting, teasing, stealing my things) I would point it out or try to rectify things, and she would start to cry and go into hysterics, and my dad would come in and beat me. Unfortunately, this made instinctual response be, "Oh no, girl crying, I must've done something wrong, even if I didn't no one will believe me, better do whatever it takes to stop her from crying or I am going to get punished." No, when a girl/woman flies into hysterics and starts to weep when her bad behavior gets called out, I get called "cold-hearted, unfeeling, uncaring, heart of stone." The only difference is rather than rush to try to make her feel better I just sit and watch her in silence. Of course, when I initially don't react to the hysterics a woman will start to double and triple her efforts to get me to react. And the more they freak out the more I feel less of an impulse to comfort and more puzzled and bemused as soon the "act" " or show that she is putting on becomes more apparent. And the technique isn't anything really out of the ordinary, rather than following my initial reaction to rush in and comfort, I wait for about 15 seconds and just look. I just watch her be upset for 15 seconds, I don't say anything or do anything, just watch. I've even had some girls/women open their eyes while pretending to sob and look at me to see if I am paying attention. After a while, you begin to differentiate between her really feeling bad and her just playing pretend. A great indication is that if she is just pretending her outburst will increase in intensity after those initial 15 seconds. Most likely she will assume that you didn't see or hear her and that's why you didn't jump to it trying to make her feel better. That's the "tell" (to use a poker term) whether this is real or just a game. If after 15 seconds of just looking if she starts to get a hold of herself and tries to calm herself then the sadness and hurt is real, if she ramps things ups after those 15 seconds she's playing you.
