This track day initially wasn't part of the plan since I was hoping to finish my tires off at the east/west day with OnGrid. But the recent setup changes (sway bars) really wore down my tires a lot faster, so I figured I'll finish them off at a fun west reverse day. I hardly do any driver prep for track days, but usually I'd at least watch some film. This time I didn't do jack shit, so my driving was way worse than usual. Oh well, next time I'll come more prepared.
Unexpected rain resulted in a fun first couple sessions. The rain stopped by noon, and the track dried up really fast. I didn't lower my pressures enough (front tires reached 45+psi), and I forgot to pull the fuses on the windows, so I had to end the session early. One of my tires also started to cord after session 3, and by the end, 3 of the 4 tires had patches where the cord was visible. I think if the day started out dry, I may not have been able to do all 5 sessions.
First day on these tires were without the sway bar upgrades, so I'm a little worried that I may barely get a 4th day on my next set. Another thing to note was that my FL brake pads wore super unevenly. The inside pad was at 10mm but the outside was ~8.5mm. I may have to look into brake ducts at some point.
Next up is the east/west day with OnGrid. I'm also going to have hood vents by then. Very excited.
