Open passing (gold/slow advanced) group at my second favorite track, and another 86 drive challenge day. I really should have moved up to red group since traffic was way lighter there and my times were good enough, but it was all good. Today's goal was to keep improving my 3 and 8. I'm still nowhere near what the car could do, but I did make some progress. Baby steps.
I tested a different setup today (1 click stiffer all around) since I wanted the car to be sharper. Made the car a bit more handful, but I think it's fine on this track. I was getting a lot more understeer for sure, but I was able to manage with more aggressive inputs. I'm not sure if I'd want to drive like this on other tracks though until my car control skills get better.
Big shout out to George in the blue C5 Z06 who was stuck in 3rd gear. Chasing a fast driver always helps. All my fast laps literally had big G ahead of me. What a guy.
I'm signed up for another west day in November, but I might cancel that and do Sonoma instead. We'll see.
