The house of cards guy is funny as fuck until you realise how sad it is. This man sat on his own, in front of a camera, screaming and crying about a house of cards for about an hour, and then replayed it repeatedly. Imagine your parents finding out about that.
@@scout1710 It's not funny to laugh with him, but at him, it is. I find it at least amusing that someone is willing to humiliate themselves to such a degree just for some cash.
this come from streamer though basically when people started to make 48h+ stream where they will sleep people will give donation to wake them up so kid on tik tok where like hey we can make money out of that
There's this one scam that pop's up on my feed of a child with hydrocephalus. And it's not like the parents are there on camera with the child either, occasionally just a little girl staring into the camera, in the room with her sibling who I imagine is suffering and in immense pain. But this is just one of the many fucked up examples of these scams. And definitely WAY more fucked then just a dumbass on a pre-recorded video. In general, these scams on TikTok are more common then people think too. I'd say it's about every 5-10 videos, give or take.
6:56 That's the face of a maniac. I could be a step away from falling for their scam, only to look at their face again and get creeped out of doing it.
I don't have tiktok, but I've seen this type of thing on youtube ads. I'm not surprised youtube is allowing it to happen, but I am surprised there isn't any real outrage over it.
Trust me dude I am outraged, I keep seeing fake mr beast ads on here that obviously is a scam like “enter for $500” not even for a chance you allegedly get $500 just for your information wow that’s not weird at all
@@mattpassos5689 have you gotten the one of the Indian family all crying and it cuts to the son just screaming “I don’t want to die!” Cause that one to me is the most annoyingly fake.
i love Charlie asking Chat how much a galaxy was, getting a hundred different answers, then just googling it himself and getting the real answer immediately
Thanks for covering this. It’s amazing how many scammers use tiktok live for scamming and begging. There are a couple that I watch if they come across my fyp and the lies are never ending. What really disgusts me the most are the ones who use serious health conditions of themselves and/or family members to garner sympathy and donations. It’s vile.
I heard a story on either NPR or the BBC who investigated some of these where people from a particular 3rd world country were asking for donations. It turns out that some of these were actually kind of legit as far as the people asking for money really desperately needed it, but the operations were being managed by people who just wanted to get rich. The investigators set up their own fundraiser to see about TikTok's actual cut and found that TikTok was already claiming something like 50-70% of the revenue. Then the dudes managing the operations were taking a particular cut as well, and the people who actually need the money were getting next to nothing. Just to make this clear, this wasn't any non-profit organization or anything like that, just a scheme.
I honestly respect the grind. Children who havent developed the magical ability of telling when something is fake or not should not have unsupervised access to the internet
Let alone tiktok. I deleted the app many months ago and there’s some weird stuff on there, most people on there are little toddlers that can’t write a single sentence without multiple spelling errors
I remember getting scammed from a TikTok ad. This fake company was selling these toy robots and after I bought one, I was being charged $40 every day. Had to get a new debit card. Fortunately they were taken down after I reported them to the FTC. Don't get scammed, kids.
The sad part is how TikTok puts zero effort in protecting it's users. I wager the platform would still be popular without the scams but they don't wanna lose a single dime it seems.
Especially considering (in the uk at least) they recently had an ad campaign about how much “effort” they put in to protecting young users, by automatically setting accounts for minors to private…
i see it as natural selection fuck them dumb people who ever is using this app should get scammed just for using it all of the short version videos are cancer sometimes i catch my self scrolling trough youtube short for like 5-10 min and after it i feel as if i lost IQ points
The way in which Tiktok has you give donations is based off of how Chinese (and maybe some Japanese?) livestream services operate. You can tip people "spaceships" and the like.
Japs loved giving away their young virgins to the local priests to become temple girls (the priests totally kept their hymens intact). TikTok needs virgin jap temple girl tipping currency
Well, I am guessing that transforming money into things like dragons, milkshakes, etc. makes it harder for the public to tally up the money that has already been given to the streamer, so it seems like a clumsy idea that makes it easier for scamers.
@kylespevak6781 tiktok is crap, twitch as a platform is terrible and shit but i mean, tiktok just generally is a cesspool of garbage besides the rare vine-like content
I think pointing out the way TikTok handles donations IS important, and I think it was good to point it out. I think the act of replacing 1:1 dollar donations weakens peoples' association with the fact that they're giving their money away.. Like even on twitch, dropping 1k bits feels a lot different than sending a straight up $10 donation, but tiktok takes that idea and cranks it up to ten.
on the topic of tiktok lives, let’s not forget the lives that are just women with their feet in the camera, naked with just their nips covered, or pretending to be having sex while doing something innocent (like reading).
There's also a lot of bots saying some messed up stuff in Charlie's RU-vid comments section. In this video alone I saw one talking about abusing kids and another that's just spamming the n word on multiple of Charlie's videos
The tiktok scam I hate the most is this pre-recorded live where this old dude and kids begging or something and people keep donating to it. It's like bruh.. how do you fall for it.
Dude there were/are sooo many Ukraine livestream scams on there it is INSANE. It makes me so fkin sad too because they mostly use kids. I fkin HATE that.
When the conflict over in Ukraine started, people were doing livestreams of just holding their phone to their window and looking outside at night while playing siren sound effects from RU-vid in the background to get people to donate. It was fucking insane
That's actually really shitty. If they're still doing the commercials, you might want to email a local news station. they usually have some kind of "fraud and consumer awareness" thing.
Scammers are only as strong as the people they’re trying to scam. I feel like getting scammed online is like getting robbed in a police station. All one needs to do to prevent it from happening is to realize where they are.
@-Random- At least they wouldn't have a platform where they can reside in. If they go on RU-vid or something to spread their degeneracy, they'll just be ignored. Unlike TikTok where people will actively defend creeps on the platform.
@@waterbottle9268 there's a Japanese dude (not a tiktoker) who is romantically/sexually attracted to his pet cockroach. Kissing a bug is just standard pda nowadays 🤢
I dont get the clout chasing hate though. Not only because I dont often hear that being mentioned on this channel, so it kinda feels inserted next to the actual scam callouts. Also yeah I know people that blatantly advertise themselves on other channels or twitter follow bait etc. And seeing that kills the authenticity of that person for me and is also often an early red flag for the inevitable cancellation on a later date. But at the same time almost 99.9 percent of content makers seek a bigger audience and are for all intended purposes chasing the clout. And I dont feel that we should applaud the successful exploiters for being able to fool us better or cheer the underdog that only tweets every 2 weeks while making killer content. Cause that means it's up to every individual viewer or content maker to decide whether a random collab is just some mutuals hanging out or one party trying to use the other party as a stepping stone. That line of thinking would only end in very judgemental and pessimistic outlook on what for us is essentially extra free content and leads to misplaced negativity and gate keeping.
I'm so glad you're making a video out of this, I see these scams way too much. There are literally people that make their children cry on camera for tiktok live views
There’s also a scam going around where TikTok live users play Minecraft where they build like a layered square with ores and when they reach the top, they start a countdown, but the kicker? Just before the countdown ends, the command block is set up to drop TNT just before the timer ends so he can’t win, and making gifting meaningless because the scammer can’t win. It’s so popular around timtok.
I’m an 18 year old guy and have had so many people my age legit said that I should download Tik-Tok bc I’m missing out. Glad I still haven’t downloaded that horrible app tho💯
It is literally designed to addict you to the platform (as all social media are), and as a consequence it destroys attention span and I'd say there are good odds on it literally making it's users less intelligent.
One work around I found is that if you really want to use TikTok or instagram just use the browser version, because the app version is literally just designed to make it as addictive as possible and the app version also spies on you way more. By just using instagram on safari I dropped my screen time from 2-3 hours each day to something around 15 minutes.
That's exactly what I do, I'm literally watching RU-vid on browser. Haven't used mobile RU-vid in 2 years. I'm 16 years old I don't want to turn into a Tik Tok zombie
Worst thing ever is that TikTok auto recommends lives and you can eventually train the algorithm to stop but it resets when you use a new device like when I signed in on my iPad and upgraded my phone
Thank you Charlie, for making the spotlight even bigger on scammers than it already is. These people are heartless. They will scam your family, or anyone you know, just for their gain.
Lol in Balkans, they use the good ole hate thy neighbor skit. They dress in colors, show flags of "Albania vs Serbia" or "Turkey vs Greece" and yell insults in their native tongue, people "tap" on their country tiktoker side and they both end up with lots of money. LOL
... Yknow I never would've considered this to be a thing but upon reflection... I can see it. I probably prefer it to the other scammers tbh, At least the targets here are essentially expressions of mean spirit.
RU-vid still is technically better. All the intent China has for TikTok is bad shit also. It just depends on how you use these apps and what you watch. It's like TV. It can be dumb as shit and bad for you, but it really depends on what you're watching. A lot of stuff on TV can also be educational and informational. There just has to be a good balance.
@@enjoi62137 I watch RU-vid mainly for entertainment. Most if not all of my recommended videos are like pka type stuff. I try not to watch or read news lol it’s just sad and depressing I mean I keep up on Ukraine stuff but that’s about it lol idk I like being entertained more than stressed by constantly seeing depressing news articles/videos
I've only ever watched one TikTok live, and it was one my little brother sent me because he was irritated at a man who was peeling a raw egg's shell while trying to keep the inner skin intact. There was one tiny piece left and my man just continued edging it for 6 hours and demanding people to follow, and once his goal was met he'd just move it up. He'd just repeat the same thing over and over and would act overly surprised at gifts to drag out the time.
Hearing Charlie talk about scams, and having watched him for over a year now, I think it'd be amazing if Charlie did a collab with Kitboga It'd be amazing to see Charlie's sense of humor in messing with scammers lol
I think the other thing with the tipping thing is it kinda disassociates you from the money you are spending, you're tipping 50 roses instead of 40 to 50 dollars (i don't know the conversion rate of roses to USD)
Scammers are like The Grinch, they take everything from you because they can stand you having more then them. Only instead of returning what they stole, they take it and move on to the next guy. Also, Merry Christmas
Yeah the simulated video feed to scam for money. It was pretty obvious that they do that though I was questioning it at the time. I was sitting there throwing garbage into the chat box and the host's of the video was "reading the comments" and none of the ones they read was from that specific chat room I was in...
this also used to be a thing on youtube too. There were guys who would stream a new fortnite event that didn’t exist and just walk around for like ten minutes and find a reason to restart the game
I've seen the most insane shit on TikTok live. From real sick children to fake, from adults wearing diapers and sucking on pacifiers to a man who wears a giant cat mask that eats and makes "nom nom" sounds non stop. I DONT WATCH THE LIVESTREAMS LMFAO
@@juscbhbhuvsdsdvbhjwsdv3843 I'm part of the problem? I use the app to see other peoples art. When you scroll on the for you page, these livestreams pop up. I don't watch them, i scroll by but I can still see them. i don't search for it. You're delusional
@@sukumuieywang8058 Sorry, where did I ever say that I watched them for hours? These tiktok lives pop up on my for you page despite me not interacting with that sort of content. Holy Christ on a Sunday spit wearing a tutu, these parasite sipping bots are so damn vile! How does RU-vid allow these things to stay on?! I'm CONVINCED that 5% of RU-vid accounts are bots now and that 40% of comment sections on big RU-vidrs are littered with these things! And NO I am not a bot or turned into one (yet), I'm just genuinely shocked, baffled, confaffled.
That makes two of us. However, I MAY (don’t quote me on this) have found a way to stop them from infesting your replies. Not necessarily the comments section as a whole, but your replies
