Watch this video all the way through before doing anything....because they make a lot of mistakes, and include them. LEARN from their mistakes beforehand. The first thing you should do is turn your interior lights OFF because your door will be open for quite a while. For some reason nobody mentions this anywhere. Take the glass out, but take it out with the window up, using the upper access ports they finally figure out. It's so easy to do that way. BEFORE you take the 3 bolts out holding the glass, mark around the washers with a Sharpie so that when you put it back in it's all aligned up nicely the way it was before (Yes, there's some wiggle room, and if you don't get it right your window will leak. Use a Sharpie! It worked perfectly for me. ) I got mine all apart and cleaned the motor contacts with some 800 sandpaper and put the door partially back together to see if that would do the trick, and it did. If you're going to be keeping your car for a while go ahead and replace the motor (~$40) My regulator was fine, but if yours has cracks like theirs, replace it too. I think you can get the whole thing (reg& motor) for under $100. Use the best points from both videos and you'll get an idea how easy it really is

Great video with lots of learning from trial and error. One thing I’d like to know more about is adjusting the lower “gold” bolts… Mine have washers on the inside and outside. And the bolts have a flathead slot. Does anyone know how far those bolts should be tightened? And how does that effect the snugness of the window?
glunk came out the new motor square part pushes bolt out to roll the square into back position , had that recently too , had to secure bolt it tight and no losen glunk sound

Hey bud can you help? How do you adjust the window height? Everything is installed and the window goes up and down the reset has been done on the switch it drops when the door opens and goes back up when the door closes like normal but it’s not high enough to go into the door sill? Thanks
Sorry, I do not exactly, it’s been a while and also we did not encounter this issue. However, I do not think that it’s meant to be adjusted mechanically. Meaning, as long as the window is attached to the regulator properly (it only goes together one way) and the regulator is installed properly (again, only one correct way), then how high the window goes is determined by the body control module which operates the window. For the module to relearn where to stop the window as it goes up and down, you would typically just close the door and hit the button. The module learns where the top is based on how much current the window motor is drawing. Once the window reaches the top, the motor will start drawing more current as it encounters resistance, so it stops and knows that’s the top. Likewise for the down position. Perhaps something is binding as the window is going up and the module is learning the incorrect topmost position? I would recheck your installation of the new regulator.
Hey all I am in the process of replacing, well, reinstalling my window motor because it two of the three bolts and backed out and the motor was so loose it had started skip and strip the 3/8" drive. The problem is I cannot get the motor drive to turn in order to align it to the window regulator hole. I tried turning the motor by hand and the regulator with an extension but neither budge. Should I just replace my window regulator or is there a way to align the two? Thanks in advance.
Waffeey, something must be binding in the regulator. We were able to turn it with the extension. You can plug the motor and window buttons back in and use the button to put the motor in the position you need. Don’t go overboard with that though, just intermittent presses should get you there. There’s probably a window reset/relearn procedure you’ll have to perform after this. I think it’s just a matter of rolling the windows all the way up and down, but you may want to look it up. @@crzivan01 I would have been much better off reconnecting it and using the switch like you said last night I ended up taking the motor apart and turning the stator by hand haha. Needed my car for work in the morning I was a little too stressed to think straight!! Ended up getting it aligned without breaking anything in the process 👍 thanks for the reply.
Thank you! I need to know this too! The lower gold bolts can be adjusted for length and they often have washers around them. I just can’t figure out if they should be totally flush/tight to the vapor barrier. Help please!! 🙏🏼
You may just need to do the reset/learn procedure. It's been so long, I am not sure what that is anymore. But I think it's a matter of rolling them all the way down and then all the way up. Maybe unplug the car battery for a while first?
@@NicNirvana the button on the window motor needs to be held for 10 seconds when the window is all the way up. But I sold the car already I got tired of one thing after another
