I like your deep-dive into the lighting & glare on his glasses in that one scene 😂 Funnier than the whole “special”.

I can't stand Tom nowadays. But people saying he wasn't funny back then are being haters or just stupid. Of course he was funny, and yes, he changed, or at least his comedy changed. A lot.

It's been I while since I watched Sledgehammer, but I feel like Tom's writing relies too heavily on fan service at this point. Just nodding to the audience in hopes that they'll catch a pod reference. The Starwarsification of Tom Segura. Like whenever he tells a story about Bert he'll say like "this fat racist dog-fucker" instead of his name, and the audience goes HAHAHAHA I KNOW WHO THAT IS and goes crazy for no reason. Nothing wrong with references, but the YMH Cinematic Shitverse runs mostly on inside jokes and they're just not that funny. There's no real joke here, just pointing to a thing you might remember in hopes you'd laugh.

When I was 11 I was put in charge of a little school news segment once a week over the video announcements. I called it 69 seconds even though it was 1 minute 15 seconds. That was 30 years ago. His shit is definitely old and child humor, or I deserve to not be one of the poors 😂

Everything about Tom's "fall" feels so odd. I absolutely love his comedy specials, started to become an avid one and began listening to his podcast (well, tried. too many to keep up on). Over the last few couple years, his whole attitude completely changed. Not necessarily bad, just different. I understand the health changes and lifestyle changes are a big thing to shift (I recall him losing a lot of weight) but outside of this show...his big-time appearances or mentions online are often associated with Bret. Regardless of opinion, it is super odd that someone as hilarious as (was? eh) Tom would distill himself with anyone. I'd imagine if you're a popular solo stand-up comedian, you'd want to be the man to a degree and would still partner with other professionals but keep the "youness" for your own shit. The two bears podcast isn't that funny, or really at all. My fault for the expectation. But still, it's a podcast and different than the professional stuff that is on the big screen, so it can be brushed aside. The fact that Tom and Bert were a duo act at the TB roast continued to question my sanity because that means they are pretty much a duo, a package deal, and listening to the two bears podcast again it sounds like Tom is tolerating Bret and not doing his thing and it's seeping out into the real world through mainstream mediums. Sorry to hijack your comment. This has been on my mind too much. Also, many fans & critics are saying (after the roast) that it was a great insult to Tom because no one bothered to roast him. I dunno man, it seemed like everyone wanted to shit on Bret and as a sign of respect...they didn't want to destroy Tom. Maybe I'm a bit optimistic, the guy banged out 4 specials and seems like a genuinely funny dude. I didn't know "Hollywood" comics never paid attention to him, it seemed like he already was, to begin with. Anyways, I guess my point is that I feel the same way about your comment, it's just obscene how quickly his rap has shifted and it just doesn't seem real. Also, I blame bret.

The thing that turned me off is that burnt ended up ranting to rich people for money and he'd ramble about spending donations on his idea of being rich. And Tom let it just keep going on and on every episode. "If we were friends with the Rock, ohh boy ugh." He already has famous friends and wants even more notoriety for nothing.
