Stacey is amazing, so glad to have a female advocate helping us who have been active all our lives and now hitting a bump called menopause! Thank you Stacy Sims
After a 3-day break since my last workout, I followed her advice... ate 20 g protein and 13 g carbs pre-workout... and took 90 second break after each exercise... my dumbbells went from 6lbs to 12 lbs. Then I ate 40 g proteins shortly after. Showered and took a long nap. Hahaha. Now eating 40+ g protein as the last meal of the day. We'll see how I feel tomorrow compared to my previous workout session.
I count macros and calories to educate myself. As I tend to fill up easily and then I'm underfeeding.... which is bad. It also helps me track how my nutrition affects my sleep, and how my menstrual cycle affects my nutrition/appetite/cravings for certain macros.
Just FYI: Mindy Peltz doesn't say fast on your luteal phase. I don't really follow her and I respect the differences between experts. But Mindy says to fast starting on the first day of your period, ie, the Menses phase. She says to eat and not fast day 21 to 28, which is the Luteal phase. If Stacy hasn't read Mindy's book, she shouldn't be misrepresenting Mindy's method. I think almost all women podcasters tell you to eat the 7 to 10 days leading up to your period. I've yet to hear otherwise, from MDs, Phds, chiropractors, or no degrees.
