Oh yes please let’s have another sew along or challenge with Viv! I miss those ♥️ Love the pretty fall print you chose to make the top. Looking forward to seeing it finished.
Hi Joy I have two of those cord holders that works fabulous I use them all the time, you half to put it on the lower part of the wire so that it directs the cord the right way you’re so silly and you make me laugh. I truly enjoy watching you you’re so inspirational and I love the clothing that you make and I like the quilts that you make as well ❣️✂️🧵🪡❤️💓💗💖
I personally think the pink blouse looks great. I think perhaps the more ease it can make it look bigger. You always look fabulous with your makes. 🙏✝️🇺🇸
Hi Joy! I love that blouse on you! I totally understand the ease challenge...my body has changed as ive gotten older too. Age is not for the faint of heart lol 🫂🤗
I was so happy to see a Joy Bernhardt video had posted when I went on RU-vid! I don’t think you look bad in that pink at all, because it wasn’t a light pastel. You can wear rich colors, and the that fall fabric you are working on does look great on you. Looking forward to another collaboration with you and Viv.
Oh my, I love that color on you. And yes, I love it when my brother-in-law takes my husband with him. I have the house for myself. Stress is gone, I can pull out fabric and decide on my next quilt or piece of clothing…I can turn the TV on and it stays on the same channel even when a commercial comes on, or I can listen to music without headphones, or an Audio book….I get so much done when the hubs it out of the house. He cannot see to drive so I am it….😞 I will watch any tutorial you want to share. You never know…I might have the same pattern and fabric already assigned to it.
I do love that pink, batik blouse and love it on you but I understand the ease issue. I also need about 3". I also agree with your assessment of Peggy's patterns. I also love that yellow dress on you, so summery. I wouldn't mind a tute on the pattern by Peggy but I understand if it's too time-consuming.
Hi Joy, I enjoyed your content as usual. Im looking forward to your autumn print top as I am abandoning summer theme sewing and transitioning into fall/ winter sewing. Our weather in Phoenix won't cool down until Halloween, I can dream, can't I? About Jerrys gift of golf clubs, my daughter ( early 40's) is a traveling sales person and it`s mandatory that she play golf with her clients and compete in the company golf tournaments. The same is true for her husband that does the same thing for a different company. Her husband gifted her a pink golf club set for her birthday and it was a welcomed gift. To each his own😊
I still think you look really good in that shade of pink. If it were lighter, would not be good. Since you don't want to wear it, I would cut it up and put it into a scrappy quilt, but you rarely do scrappy quilts. Just an idea.
I love that pattern, I’ve made 3 of that shirt !! I’ve gone to several of her classes,I know some people don’t care for them but I love her patterns. I also like the tank pattern you have on
Yes, Joy, the shop is The Quilt studio and Mercantile! I know the lady owns it and she is so so nice and done great job making that little shop so cute and full of ideas!! Only problem is, I live really close to it, oh the temptation 🥴!
I’ve been going back and watching Nancy Zieman’s shows about the pivot and slide method of pattern fitting. It looks easier than the tape and slash methods. What are your thoughts?
I really like the "Lemon' Sundress! I am interested in knowing the Pattern Company and Pattern number. Here in Phoenix, we will still be 🔥HOT🔥 past Halloween! So, tank tops and Tank dresses are a STAPLE ITEM for me! 😉
Joy., I have that Peggy pattern with the white pleat in front. I tried making a muslin and I looked so fat. The pleat stuck out around my tummy. It wasn’t pressed well I guess. If you do a tutorial I’ll work along with you. Thx in advance. Love your content.
Great video Joy! Would you please share how you keep those small quilts attached and so flat on the sloped ceiling in the room where you were sewing? My mom has those sloped ceilings and not much wall space. I’d love to share this info with her. Thanks!
Buy some tiny appliqué pins. They have to have heads like nails, but very tiny. They are very short. At my other house or I would show you. I’ll put some in my Amazon store for you. I just use a little hammer and LIGHTLY tap them through the quilt and the Sheetrock. When you pull them out, they leave a hole so tiny you cannot find it.
Joy is the quilting store in Tulsa that you motioned The Quilting Studio & Fabric Mercantile? They have become one of my favorite go to place for fabric.
My bloating comes from vegetables, I feel better having a full meat meal a couple of times a week. Not completely carnivore, but much closer. Read up on No Carb Life, a lot of people mention bloating and how to fix it, worth trying.
I love this top. I know you drafted your pattern from surefit. I'd love to have this pattern. Any ideas where I can purchase one? Long time follower. Thanks
My skin is for Winter colors according to the books. I think it changes as you get older though. Actually, if I put gold and silver in front of my face - I think I prefer the gold. That certainly is a warm color. I still like true red and royal blue colors on me. I must be in between the seasons somewhere.
Pink blouse is pretty but I don't think pink is your color. Did you ever have your colors done? I did when I was 20.(45 years ago) and it really helps to pick out the best colors to wear near your face. Like I look terrible in brown or olive green but red and black look good on me. Might be worth looking into it to save you from having to discard all those lovely makes. Plus, if you make a top a bit bigger, can't you just take it in a bit? Just saying... 😂😂😂
I typed a long response and it flew off into space. AAAARRGH! It is this IPAD. Yes, I used to actually do colors on people. I have the books. I was a true Winter as you probably are. I look dead in olive green and golds. I used to look great in blacks and whites. Not so much anymore. I need off whites or ivory. Too much black swallows me. I still really like true red and royal blue. Aging is such fun.
@@Joy4650B yes it is. Everyday something different hurts! I used to have dark brown hair then little by little went lighter and now it's platinum (natural). Still a winter and love the cold weather too! It was 65 here today, Buffalo, NY. Nice relief.
I love the pink top but like you pink doesn’t look that good on me. I have brown eyes and gold tint to my skin. I read a book called “ Color Me Beautiful “ . It is quite helpful in picking out colors that look good on you. This is not related to anything but I thought you might get a laugh out of it. I’m at church this past Sunday and we are listening to & watching a beautiful song up on the screen. Instantly with no warning this commercial pops up on the screen “ This is what 5 pounds body fat looks like.” Needless to say the congregation is snickering and the sound man is running down the aisle to the sound machine. Love your tutorials and learn so much from them. However I can understand their difficulty so just do them at your pace & convenience.
