We just had to 3D print our own animal totem from the video game Inscryption! There's a hollow cavity inside for electronics and we used clear resin so the glow shines through the eyes and symbol. Also, we modified a squirrel card to match the theme...

You guys are always an inspiration! For other 3d models from game devs, there are some models from Deep Rock Galactic. They aren't released directly from Ghost Ship Games, but the person who put them up did get permission and got the files directly from the game, so they're accurate. Ghost Ship Games will also be releasing simplified models for 3d printing as part of their kickstarter campaign for their board game later this year, so super excited about that.

That foot might indicate your first exposure layers are too long, so the UV is bleeding through the resin you want to cure and ends up curing some extra. If my resin has a cure time of 10s per layer, I typically go 35-50 for the first layers, and if the resin cures faster at 1.5-2.5 per layer, I lessen it to maybe 10-15 seconds for the first layers. It's a delicate balance between avoiding that foot and still having the build adhere to the flexplate. Additionally you can play with the number of first layers. If you only have supports in contact with the plate, a big number of layers is fine because it won't mess with the actual print. But if printing on the plate, then your print is within those first layers, so you want just enough to get it to bond.

Funnily enough I used tinkercad and thingiverse to for our 3D printer in my machining class (making metal parts and such) instead of my normal work. Luckily my teacher was pretty chill and let it slide since I wasn't completely wasting my time, even gave me some credit in class despite not doing my projects, probably the only reason I didn't fail in the last year of class.He just let me draw, 3d print, or use V-carve for wood carvings on our cnc router. But seeing you guys use so many different methods to making models and props makes me want to get back into doing it all again, 3D printing, making my own models to print, or make something with resin despite only doing it once with some wood to make a ring. But I'd like to try making props of foam and even try taking parts from several things to make something unique.

Squirrel power! Not only does this totem grant you +2 to agility, it also gives you the "I'm not insane, I'm nuts!" Perk. Which allows you to store three times your body weight in nuts, in the cheeks of your mouth. Great project! It came out so nice. I have a couple tips to improve your resin printing experience. It seems you overexposed your resin which made the screw and hole too large. Have you done a full calibration test of THAT resin in THAT printer in That particular layer height? Each of those matters and will affect the dimensional accuracy. If you dial those in, parts will fit together nicely. :) Another tip, if you want to get rid of most of the layer lines, well of course one thing is to print at smaller layer heights, but a faster option is you can crank up your anti-alias and blur settings in your slicer. And lastly, especially for clear parts, you can brush on resin either before after your final cure and hit it with the UV flashlight, or just stick it back in your curing chamber. A more advanced technique is heating up your resin to make it less viscous and dip your whole model in there and then cure. Hope these help on your next resin print!
@punishedprops

So, I'm pretty new to resin printing as well, and I wanted to ask you guys, what do you do to clean your dirty alcohol? I've tried running it through the paint strainer, I've tried curing it in the sun and then straining it, I've even SLOWLY run some through a coffee filter, and it's still murky, or in the case of the cured version, milky. Current plan is to get an alcohol still and evaporate/condense the alcohol vapors, leaving the resin gunk behind, but I was curious what your plan of attack would be.

The resin print is indeed much cleaner than an FDM print, but if you look closely there are still areas where you can see layer lines and the filler primer works great for making those disappear.
