I truly like American Dad more than Family Guy mainly because none of the characters (Stan, Francine, Roger, Steve, Klaus, & Hayley) have taken complete 180s with their personalities, unlike with FG.

The first Stelio Kontos one is by far my favorite episode.

They did design American Dad! to be more "left wingy", as it started as a really blatant criticism to American Neo-conservativism... Well, eventually, Bush left The White House, and mainstream American politics shifted, but the genius of the show is how it shifted to a better, more mature, and more wholesome criticism of many aspects of society in general. You can see conservatives being tackled a lot in the form of Stan, but liberals got definitely their good share too in the shape of Haley!

Why was a Wheels and the Leg man episode not on here

American Dad is way more enjoyable than Family Guy.

My personal favorite is the FamilyLand episode. Anyone agree.

Haley is a liberal not a libertarian.

I used to think American Dad! was rather bland compared to Family Guy, but over the few years I have been watching these shows, I prefer American Dad!, as the jokes are a breath of fresh air and the scenarios are refreshing and don't rely on those stupid, cursed cutaway gags in order to be what they call 'funny'.

Honestly the best element of American Dad for me is... Wheels and the Legman theme. Me and my buddies sing when doing stuff in public.

Loved the vietnam renactment episode, with rogers torturing stan with that sex and the city script

Can't remember the name, but the episode where Stan takes Steve to a Vietnam reenactment to "capture the meaning behind the National Anthem" is by far my favorite episode.

American Dad > Family Guy

Lost in Space has got to be my favorite episode. Not only is it a great standalone episode, but the setting, soundtracks, and overall character development is just gorgeous in this episode.

I gotta defend FG a bit, noting first I no longer watch it. Older episodes like when Brian falls in love with Pearl, the Tootsie ripoff with Stewie, and even some newer episodes like Brian's horrible play. So... basically anything heavy on Brian and Stewie. There's true character development and emotion in those episodes, and some smart well-times jokes. Few and far between but they do sometimes exist.

I don't remember the name of it, but I like the episode where Hayley drank too much and her kidneys failed and so Stan wants to donate but they find out that Hayley's not their real daughter.

Two episodes that deserved a place on the list are the Vietnam reenactment episode and the episode when Stan starts a sweatshop to make Cele-bear-tions

I've said it many times. American Dad started weak, but just like Star Trek the Next Generation, got better every season. I can't name episode titles, but the one where Steve kills Santa and they fight off the Christmas army, Jeff with Roger's race, and the Halloween episode where Toshi kicks ass at the end...all funny episodes. About the only one I dislike was the hot tub one, as it was a presented series finale, but Fox kept going a few more seasons.

American dad will always be better than family guy in my opinion. As a matter of fact, I liked the cleveland show better than most new family guy episodes.

Rapture's Delight is my absolute favorite American Dad episode. It is haunting yet hilarious, and it gives Stan an arc that is truly moving. The jokes are absolutely hysterical: "It's raining wise men. Hallelujah." "Anti-Christ", etc...All-round great episode. Made me realize that American Dad Christmas episodes are some of the best in TV.

One of my favorites is "Can I Be Frank with You?" Stan feels sincerely loving of Francine when he's trying to kill "Frank" and isn't understanding of the situation at first, and he's not truly in the wrong. While people say he could spend more time with his wife, I think that someone isn't in the wrong truly if both sides can be argued. It's heart-warming to see how Stan really loves his wife without the "Status Quo is God" coming in for them to be wrong and be forgiven, Stan really feels like he loves his wife. The side plot with Steve was pretty funny too and pretty cool parodying Boy Bands.

Tears of a Clooney is my favorite episode. I never stopped a laughing, the ending was glorious.

My very favorite episode of American Dad is 100 A.D. It when Hayley and Jeff decide to get married and run to Mount Chimdale but Stan hates the idea so gives a reward of $50000 to who anyone who can stop the wedding.

The war re-enactment episode is by far my most favorite episode ever.

Familyland will always be my favorite episode; insanely creative, an original, and probably the most entertaining cartoon episode i’ve ever seen. Of course, it was insanely funny as well.

Phantom of the Telethon and Great Space Roaster are constantly underrated eps. A Pinata Named Desire is pretty much Roger at his best.

American Dad quickly started to become my favorite Seth McFarlane cartoon after I started to notice Family Guy's decline, and I think that is because it is not as popular as Family Guy and it does have a different writing staff. (I know it does have its problems though) I really should try to watch more of it since I stopped watching new episodes of the show when I stopped watching new episodes of Family Guy.

One of my favorite episodes is Roy Rogers Mcfreely. Roger gets fed up with not having a say at home so he takes over the neighborhood community board and makes Stan's life a living hell. Stan had to team up with Haley which already leads to some awesome skits and then takes to creative vandalism to recreate the neighborhood that he knew. I loved Roger's personality and the car chase scene in this episode the most.

I like one of the newer ones. "The Two hundred" It was a really cool plot line with a heartwarming message of how Stan regrets not telling his family he loved them and then an amazing ending

To be honest I was surprised the episode where Stan and Francine try to stop a marriage between Haley and Jeff. It was excellently dark and just flat-out entertaining.

I started to like American Dad a lot more than Family Guy after the newer episodes came rolling in, but for some reason I still watch Family Guy more, even though American Dad still manages to make a decent episode at the very least.

One of my favorites is when they got stuck in there house because of a flood it was kinda cool with stan saving his whole family and everyone stepping up and help them

My favorite episode is the one with My Morning Jacket. It introduced me to the band, which is awesome, and exemplifies the strong influences music has on the series, as evidenced by all the songs contained throughout the latter portion of the series. Which reminds me: American Dad essentially does the exact opposite of Family Guy; where Family Guy started out really strong before degrading into schlock, American Dad started out decent and only went up. Where the latter portions of Family Guy turn me off from the entire series, I can honestly say that I enjoy everything American Dad has to offer. It also helps that I prefer American Dad's left-wing comedy over Family Guy's blue collar style.

american dad is alot more random which is why i prefer it to family guy. also the alien adds alot of wiggle room ideas for mcfarlain. could even do a season based on interstellar travel or alien invasion

Four little words was hilariously dark, Roger in family affair was funny as well as cops and Roger 😂 the fart scene in cops and Roger always gets me, I also liked the scene when Roger overdoses just moments after he says to Steve he's a changed man in the episode flirting with disaster 🙈

There are a lot of cracks at the right. I'm conservative but I still enjoy it, I won't get offended by anything.

I LOVE The After School Special! It IS exactly as you described it, and that's the best part of the whole thing it feels real and I think that's the best part of it all, it really cemented American Dad as a series for me to watch. I fell behind years ago but your video makes me want to go back and watch it. It, in my opinion is better than Family Guy as Family Guy really goes into territory it shouldn't go in the first place. Granted that is what comedy is for but there is a line you can't cross and Family Guy seems to do that more than American Dad.

My favorite episode is The Unincludables from last week, although the ending was awkward, the episode was awesome and it really went into detail about Steve's and Snot's friendship.

One of my favorite episodes is "In Country....Club". In this episode, steve gets chosen to sing the national anthem at his school's sport game. Stan believes the best way to perfect steve's singing for the anthem is to give him experience of American spirit. And the spirit is at a country club that's hosting a Vietnam War Reenactment. Meanwhile, Roger tries to get the Pay-per-view codes to watch a one-night only performance of Barbara Streissand singing hits from Celine Dion. It was hilarious how steve gets shell-shocked from an reenactment and how roger joins the Vietcog to interrogate the codes from stan.

The 2 best Episodes of American Dad were the First episodes I watched

For me, I like The Missing Kink because it teaches people that everybody likes their own thing and, as long as it is fun and safe (and in that case consensual), then it's okay. However, they also say that you shouldn't push it onto people who don't want anything to do with it because it isn't fair to the other person.

Disappointed that In Country Club was not on the list. IMO, it has the funniest plot line of all episodes, as Steve gets PTSD from a Vietnam War reenactment.
