The most unbelievable part of Back to the Future wasn't 3ven the time travel. It was the fact that we were supposed to believe that DeLorean got up to 88 mph
@@mikepaulus4401 OHHHHH YEAH !!! I actually remember when the speedos only went to 85. Totally forgot about that. I remember asking my parents why all the cars went up to 85 . I was very young. My parents didn't know why at the time. They said .... I dunno, they just do. Lol
It was considered, but is being reserved for another top 10 list. You can find on the channel a video doc about Smokey and the Bandit that should be more than satisfying for now. Enjoy.
@@MFPMapFilmProductionsMy 2 personal favourites are The Austin Martin DB5 From James Bond and the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder from Ferris Bueller's Day off
Excellent list, every one a favourite! I've watched the 'Cannonball Run' at least 10 times but I've lost count on how many times I've watched the intro!!!
The Wrath is my personal favorite, and dream car. If you could actually acquire the actual original Plymouth that was built for that movie. Thank you for the content and much love to you and all.
@@TwoPair72 Yeah, but it is common in movies for the superchargers to not be functional. They are there for looks. Even Mad Max's V8 Interceptor had a bogus supercharger with an electrically spun belt.
Robert Duvall building and talking to the 46 Cole Trickle car is worth a mention. 👌🏻... From the bare shell to the fully painted iconic Yellow-Green Chevy City livery.
I considered that scene. But I decided to save it for another list of cars being built/repaired in movies list. Like the Mustang in Stallones's Lock-up and so on.
@@michaelb6729 That's a hard one, cause outside of one or two moments, the white Ford only has a before and after moment, and the musical number was a fantasy moment that didn't take place
I would have dropped the Blues Mobile and instead put in the Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. Wooboy, when he pulled that car out of the back of that truck, I was in love.
Death race 2008 for me mainly the hearing of the engine tires squealing and gun shots indicating a shift in tone from the original which I actually enjoyed compared to the later ones
I was considering Ghostbusters and ecto 1. But it was not really introduced in its complete form as it was first shown matt black and later the film was sped up when driving out. Ironically, my biggest regret was the car that inspired me to do this list and completely forgot about while editing this was the black Monte Carlo from Training Day. I literally only remembered it after I uploaded this list when I was listening to Still Dre. Kicking myself.
Love that car (Yes, it's a Merc) and wasn't its introduction in the movie when Stallone used it to 'open up' 'his' parking spot when the gang members mistakenly parked their low rider there? That was pretty cool.
I do feel the ecto-1 should have been on there but at the same time every has a room top 10, so still some very good choices like I didn't expect Wraith honestly
My favorite movie car intro was when the Bandit drove out the Trans Am from the back of the trailer {hunny hush} which was just around the corner from where I lived in Jonesboro Georgia the summer of 1976 ✌💖☮
Missed a few 1. Bullitt Mustang 2. Dom's Charger Fast n Furious 3. Bandit Trans Am 4. 455 HO T/A Thunderbolt and Lightfoot 5. Gran Torino in Gran Torino and in Starsky and Hutch 6. Eleanor Mustang 7. Corvette Summer 'vette
No I have not. Always interested in discovering foreign car chase films, and I always thought the Opel Manta was the closest thing to a EU muscle car when I first saw one in Greece 20 + years ago. I'll check it out. Cheers.
@@MFPMapFilmProductions you got to watch it ? watch out there is another Manta movie from same year called "Manta Der Film" it's not as good but still watchable, at the end you see a 3 axle Manta B (2 front axles) racing a red Golf 1 GTI , maybe good enough material for a video on both films at same time , there is a FUN story here too, Senator (who did Manta Der Film) had a bet with Neue Constantin (Manta Manta studio) on who would bring out their movie earlier, Neue Constantin lost by a couple of weeks so they had to hand over to Senator a brand new Porsche 911 at their headquarters as part of the bet
The sound of that engine in IMAX was absolutely incredible. The whine of a jet turbine combined with a V8 has to be one of the most intimidating car sounds out there
Ha ha, cheers. Not sure about the wrong part, unless we are talking about the love of combustion engines. Cause if loving a big ol V8 is wrong, I don't wanna be right.
Doooooode.. Wrong or Right... Ive sporadically shared your content.. and it seems, wilt all the walls of content that surrounds you, once again, something dug a trench.. The ALGO.... And here I am... Always Quality, Always Researched, and always about the Immaterial we all love. Because its not ! Its art.
To be fair, I try not to give too much credit towards that film unless absolutely necessary, due to what has happened to youtubers and people in the past who have been prosecuted by the so called owners of Eleanor.
The title misled me (english isn't my language), I thought it's a list how movies start and not introducing the cars, so I was eagerly expecting one specific movie, but it's my problem. 🤫 If I look at the list as which movie would I watch only (or mostly) for the car(s), then it would be Christine, Mad Max, and Cannonball Run (from bottom to top). And I quietly admit that if any of those three movies are aired I probably watch the beginning of them. 😃
Cheers. I have decided not to do such long lists as some instances similar in nature belong to other top 10 videos for future reference so as not to repeat the same detail unless needed.
I knew the Batmobile and the Delorean would be in the top 2 just which order would they come in. I was thinking the Batmobile would make number one since it caught everyone by surprise.
Although it was manufactured to be a 'great intro,' I still get a kick out of the stunts they perform when Starsky introduces the 'Striped Tomato' (Torino) to Hutch in the Starsky & Hutch movie.
The spec on the supercharged Interceptor was "650 horsepower, through the wheels." Not the 600 you stated. (Through the wheels is rear wheel horsepower, not brake horsepower which is measured at the crankshaft. You typically lose around 30% through the drive train, so the interceptor would be estimated as 800+ horsepower. In the 1970s!!)
Please watch Mad Max again. Not sure if in the American dub the mechanic said "650" but in the original, he did say 600 horsepower. The 351 V8 GT equipped with the pursuit special produced 300-350 hp stock. Although the supercharger was fake in the film, if real, it's hard to imagine it could reach an extra 450-500 extra HP to have the 800 you mentioned.
Unfortunately it did not match the criteria of this list this time. You can find on the channel a 20 minute documentary dedicated to celebrating 50 years since Vanishing Point was released. Enjoy.
It was not of an "intro" it just showed up. You can find a video doc of me driving that batmobile (replica based on original mold) on the channel, where I talk about the history about that car. Enjoy.
It was a real supercharger but wasn't connected to the belt system. It had an electric motor that the red knob controlled but the rotors were removed because of weight strain on the electrical motor. Today that could be feasible since electric motors have some serious torque and horsepower in their own now.
I need that wraith interceptor. I have a little bit of cash, does anyone know if there's a kit car that the public can buy. How many interceptors were made?
You can find a video on this channel detailing the full history of the Wraith car (Dodge M4S) yes there are people who build and replicate this car based off original molds.
It was a 76-77 as the used 77 parts on a 1976 model a few times along with having a 77 model. You can find out more on a video doc about the movie on the channel. Enjoy.
@@MFPMapFilmProductions No, My Bad. It didnt show up when i ran the curser along the 'preview line'. It just went from Christine to Batman. Another good vid. Cheers.
Ha ha, if I had my way, it would always be at number 1 on any list. But I can't play favorites. But if you check out the channel, you will see more than a few videos dedicated to Mad Max and the Pursuit Special. Enjoy.
@@fordmangtho351 All good. Yeah, my dad had a 74 LTD and by brother had a four door XB as well. My family left Australia before I even got my licence, so I only got a VL when I returned. Still holding out for a V8 of my own one day in the UK.
@@fordmangtho351 yep. That is why ironically, I think I got a better chance finding one that is obtainable in Europe and the UK. Hell, there are a bunch of XY GTs in South Africa Aussies are now exporting to Australia to own.
yeah... nah. Not even close. Ditch Beverly Hills Cop, Cannonball Run, Ferris Bueller and Wraith and replace them with real icons like ECTO-1, Mad Max Falcon Interceptor at the top of the list, Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am and either Eleanor from gone in 60s seconds films. Any one of the F&F original icons could also have been included.
If you like, could you please send a link of your own narration for comparison? Always looking to hear from those who are better at narrating to take notes from.

@@MFPMapFilmProductions - How about Steve McQueen's 1968 For Mustang Bullitt GT? It holds the record for the most expensive car ever sold at auction, at 3.7 Million Dollars.
@@josepha.spcledtnta5292 I know, I have discussed it at length on another video I did you can find on my channel. The car in Bullitt did not have any kind of special introduction. It just basically showed up as Steve was suddenly seen driving around in it before the chase.
It's a matter of opinion. I knew the DeLorean would be high on the list... it's an iconic movie car but let's face it; that car was crap and the demise of a car legend, John DeLorean (along with bundles of cocaine). It's not a bad list but it also excluded some of the best cars in cinema; in no particular order... 1970 Dodge Challenger 440 in Vanishing Point. 1977 Pontiac Firebird "Screaming Chicken" in Smokey and the Bandit 1964 Ford GT40 in Ford vs. Ferrari 1967 Ford GT500 the elusive "Eleanor" in the Gone in 60 Seconds remake Another Mustang...the 1968 Ford Mustang 390 in Bullitt. Last but not least is the unforgettable fictional car.... Chitty Chitty Bang Bang from the same titled movie (I love you😂) Just a few off the top of my head...sure there are more....would like to hear your favorites!
@@SquirminHermanthe1eyedGerman : Umm, no. The first Eleanor was a 1971 fastback and was as ugly as your sister. In the remake, which was pretty laughable, was a modified '67 GT500 and sweet! In the early '90s I went to a car expo in crazy San Francisco at Moscone. They had the end all, be all of everything Shelby. From California Specials to GT350s to GT40s to simple pure 289s. Then there was the Daytona coupe, one of six made, and that was something else. Point being is that "Eleanor" is like an elusive unicorn...no matter what the crappy car they decided to film with.
@@tempestfury8324 I meant to say it was a '71 redressed as a '73 but either way its still looks better {and I am no ford fan girly boy} than that crappy remake where all of the stunts were CGI compared to HB doing all the stunts in Eleanor AND she is still drivable owned by HB's widow Denice & has performed at stunt shows! I seen the movie at the drive-in when it came out in '74 & other than Bullitt it is one of the best chase scenes still to this day! I do like the AC Cobras & especially the Daytonas! And as far as sisters go I didnt know "your" sister was ugly whoever she is
@@SquirminHermanthe1eyedGerman Hoh-ho! 🤓 Don't even get me wrong, I love the original movie! You think I give a crap about Nicholas Cage and CGI bullshit? You might as well get crazy about pronouns or some other nonsense. What I do like is how Eleanor looked in the remake. I don't have a sister but I did have yours, and she wasn't all that. 😆 I'm just riling you because it's my day off and I can. Eleanor or not, '67 GT500 (better yet the KR) was a thing of beauty...unlike your sister. Deep pokes!
@@tempestfury8324 I cant stand that remake either & I am no Kim Coppola fan either, not that great of an actor! I think the '67 looks worse, just never cared for those bodystyles & actually the only ones that I half assed liked were the Fox bodies '79-'93! I am guessing you you like ugly heavily modified girls {like the remake '67} as I have 3 brothers unless that gets your juices drippin
First time seeing one of your videos and I like it and thi k u did a great job but I can't pay attention when u talk like that. Like it's a switch to pick my attention up and drop it off
That is being saved for another list. It lost points for two reasons. 1, the car was shown in its pre-Ecto 1 form when it was obtained. And the second, when it was later reintroduced, the footage was sped up to see it drive, either for comedic reasons or due to bad timing. That car deserved a better intro.
Working on the next top 10 now (not horror cars) and I have a massive back catalog of videos that need editing. But I also am in the works of making a feature length documentary that fell in my lap by chance that is fully interviewed in terms of the director, the main lead actors and stunt and special effects and crew. Too much to do, not enough of me.
Another error in the movie, is that the Delorean used in the movie is a stick shift but how did Doc operate the cluch and shift the gears with a remote?
