I've *never* heard anyone, even non-native English speakers, pronounce pint as "pent". I've noticed that there's usually like 1 word per video that Logs does this with; a subtle but wildly inaccurate pronunciation. It's jarring every time because they just keep rolling very smoothly with the script, and I have to either roll back to listen to it again or wait and see if they say it again to make sure I didn't imagine it. And each time I wonder how on earth they arrived at the conclusion that *that* was how to say that word. Sometimes I can see the logic behind it, sometimes I can't. And sometimes I have to assume that Logs just never ever used that word in a conversation, or heard that word used by someone else in the entirety of their life. Great videos tho Very well-written, interesting, and informative
I've been following him on his WoW channel since 2015, and you kinda just get used to it after a while. There's often a word he mispronounces, but I just laugh it off at this point. He makes good content, so I can't complain too much, even if it's jarring. :D
Dragonmaw Poacher is #1. Stopped seeing play a week after DoD launched even though dragons were everywhere; so strong in Arena it had to be banned. Keep in mind that other banned cards like Flappy Bird, Mind Control Tech, and Ramming Mount have all been used in constructed.
The pint size potion analysis is not entirely correct (not to mention pronouncing it wrong) It was used in priest fairly often in combination with Shadow Word Horror, Cabal Shadow Priest, potion of madness, and less commonly Shadow Madness. To say it saw almost no play is def not correct.
Pint sized potion was used a ton in reno priest and general control priest. I don't understand how you could say it was barely ever used. Like it combod with shadow word horror, cabal, potion of madness, mossy horror. It definitely saw plenty of play
can't believe he didn't even mention the obvious Shadow word horror combo, priest used to ran the combo all the way up to Knight of the frozen throne and was still semi consistent with Shadow visions, until it got phased out by better board clears (Psychic scream in the next expansion) I've never heard of a good priest deck ever used Pint Sized potion to value trade (as said in the vid), since Priest got a lot of effects that only works on low attack minions (all the cards mentioned above)
One of the hacks for engagement on RU-vid is to intentionally mispronounce words so people leave comments like yours. It helps the algorithm in exchange for looking a tiny bit foolish
I’ve watched your yugioh and Warcraft vids for ages and just now found your hearthstone channel. I’m more familiar with this game and I wanted to throw in a few things… Pint sized potion - you mentioned this being used for trades which I don’t think was a common use for it, more of an incidental option if in a pinch. The main use of this card was to reduce the attack of monsters to put them in range of priests other cards. Shadow word pain destroys monsters with 3 or less attack. Shadow madness steals a monster for the turn with 3 or less, and cabal shadow priest steals a monster permanently with 2 or less attack. The 2 mana 3/2 that has the same effect was more popular due to not being dead in the hand early Blast crystal potion. Probably worth mentioning how strong this card is in a late game focused deck since the downside is entirely negated if you are already at turn ten, you retain the lost crystal on your next turn and haven’t lost any tempo.
0:16 I had to pause the video. This might just be a world speedrun comeptitor for "fastest time to hirumaredx mispronouncing a common word in the english language"
Shrinkmeister was actually very good back when GvG released. It allowed for easy mind controls and shadow word pain which back then meant a whole lot. It was actually, along with vol'jin one of the best cards for priest in that set.
6:10 This is 100% a nitpick, but historically speaking, Priest has had the most board clears of any class. In Wild, you have enough to make an entire deck of priest board clears. And during the standard rotation it came out in, Priest had access to 5 different multi target removal/board clears, 3 of which were printed in that set (though, granted, breath of the infinite was the only cheap, small target aoe for priest at the time). The two from before that set in that standard rotation were Plague of Death and Mass Hysteria, which, granted, weren't great in that meta just by virtue of them being too expensive to save you from aggro. However, those two were really powerful board clears that saw play in every slow Priest deck at the time.
It's interesting watching these top 10s, because it's a game I've played so very little, compared to something like yugioh top 10s that I know so much about Thanks for all the entertainment these videos give!
Video idea : What cards caused a major shift in what percentage classes where played. I've played back in the day and I always wondered how often I would run into a certain deck over and over. Like warriors and rouges being played so dam often when Patches was released. So cards that caused that shift in people to play more of one class than others.
Video series idea: you can pick a meta deck in the history of the game and cover how it worked, like its win-con, common plays, matchups, key cards, pro play, its lifespan, etc
Arcane golem was nerfed before demon Hunter even came out, what are you even talking about? Please, do some Proofcheck on the script, it hurts when you get some explanations so drastically wrong Potion of polimorph is completely useless against pirates and Questline hunter, they don't care if you turn their 7/7 into a 1/1 sheep since battlecries are happening before any secret triggers
There were a bunch of incorrect facts surrounding Oil Rogue nerfs a few videos ago. It makes me wonder how many yugioh videos I have watched that have had false timelines and information. It's terribly bad for this channel's credibility and definitely my last video.
Adding to this, he claims Duskbreaker came out in the same set as Mean Streets, when it actually wouldn't come out until Kobolds and Catacombs four expansions later. You can even see they have different watermarks.
The Pint-Size potion deserve more justice. I used it in the past (before first Raza nerf) in wild legend Reno Priest and it was legit viable card. During that time, Priest was rather poor when it comes to board clears before turn 5 and opponent would play on dealing as much damage as possible with swarm aggro decks that left you praying for Reno. In order to increase survivability against such decks i played Pin-sized potion and Confuse (it swaps attack and health of all minions on board for 2 mana). Which is 2 card 3 mana cost combo that wiped 99% of boards before turn 5, because if enemy minion had 0 atk before swap, he will instant die after the swap. In order to increase its usage i even played Shadow word: Horror (it destroys all minions with 2 or less attack for 4 mana). On its own it was alright card, but with Pint-sized potion it was board nuke for 2 card usage and 5 mana cost. Sure, it is not very likely to consistently draw 2 cards for combo before turn 6. However this is not main combo of your deck, you don't need to rely on it, the number of times you completely screw aggro deck with this combo will add up in long run and in the end you will end up appreciating both combo and Pint-size potion.
lmao…your pronunciation of pint…🤦♂️ Have you seriously never heard someone say “pint size” or “going out for a pint” in real life before?? It’s pronounced like pine (as in the tree 🌲) with a t on the end. Or pie + nt.
Great job with your research on #2 its good to see you know whats going on in wild! A lot of content creators often ignore wild and seeing you actually talk accurately about it feels amazing as a wild player
the thing is with Felfire Potion, many people played 2 hellfire in reno warlock instead of 1 felfire and 1 hellfire because you only needed unique cards in your deck as soon you drew one hellfire you could have activated reno and many decided they would have a higher Chance of getting hellfire than relying on a 6 mana clear when they could already played reno that turn. reno Decks very often playes duplicates because they rolled to have a higher Chance for a clear rather than having a less efficient card. i also used 2 doomsayer in reno mage to counter aggro, against control i would have been able to Play reno anyway. i personally think you overrated Felfire Potion there since at that time i saw more with double hellfire (inclusive me) than with 1 fellfire.
if i remember correctly, Fellfire was used for a short time, since the previous best deck was Midrange shaman from "One Night at Karazhan" that had a lot of 5 health or less minions like Thing from Below, but as the meta took shape and that Shaman deck took the stronger Mean streets cards, Fellfire lost it's purpose and mostly a dead card against the heavy aggro decks spearheaded by Patches.
okay i watched a lot of your videos, and i know you pronounce a lot of words wrong. but "pint?" really? i think i have to stop watching. something about you mispronouncing words like that really aggravates me for some reason.
