Slight corrections on a few of these. Some of these were actually fine back closer to their release; although obviously most of these are fairly old cards now. Like...Dead Man's Hand was fine for a while there. I don't expect it to make a comeback or anything, cause Photographer Fizzle exists now. But it was fine for a while when it was new. Star Aligner Druid was tier 0 in wild for a little bit there, it wasn't an "inferior" version of Togwaggle Druid; it was the most played version of Druid for a while. Granted, it's been outclassed (if you're going to pair something with Aviana and Brann these days, it's Astalor). But it was the most popular wild win condition at the time. Also, there wasn't a gap between the release date of Juicy Psychmelon and Star Aligner, they came out in the same set. I don't recall blood of the ancient one ever being a serious pick for big priest. Maybe I missed a brief trend, but I don't think I ever saw it played against me. I was assuming Blood of the Ancient One would be way higher on the list TBH. Uther of the Ebon Blade control paladin was actually the best deck for a hot minute in standard. Obviously a lot more suspect 6 years of powercreep later. The Darkness is weird, cause it was part of one of the most oppressive wild decks of all time quite recently--switcheroo priest, where you had only the Darkness and Stonetusk Boar in your deck, and played Switcheroo to get a 20/20 charge. I suppose you didn't actually play The Darkness itself, though. --- But like...I dunno. Overall, if you want to name old win conditions that were bad...seems like there's a pile of terrible old quests that were always bad in both standard and wild. The Last Kaleidosaur. Lakkari Sacrifice. Hack the System. Unite the Murlocs. The Marsh Queen. A lot of these aren't OTKs, but neither are some of the cards on this top 10 list.
Imagine doing so little research, you put at #9 the only card that was *so far* nerfed, nerfed to double its cost and still might see play in wild when the meta shifts in its favor.
Floop"s Gloop is actually one of the most absurd cards in wild hearthstone, it is just way too much mana for one card and enable way too many silly combinations
I made a deck to use Greater Arcane Missiles as a finisher. I use that mage weapon Celestial Ink set to hopefully discount it in my hand to cost 3. Put Vexallus and Aegwynn in there to boost it to 5 dmg per missile. And on turn 10 play Brann and the hero Magister Dawngrasp. Also high spells of note are flamestrike, mask of cthun, and that other arcane spell that costs 5 (8 dmg to a minion, and the remainder summons a minion). Highest i got was platinum 3 with it though.
What about top 10 upon release? I imagine Loatheb still in 1. place. But as for the other 9 I'm thinking these are guaranteed spot: mad scientist, undertaker, haunted creeper, sludge belcher, death's bite And these probably fighting for the remaining spots: nerubian egg, spectral knight, zombie chow, echoing ooze, shade of naxxramas, dark cultist, webspinner & Kel'thuzad
