For me, the reason is simple. They know. They know that a 9-foot rim won't change much. So they refuse, so that the debate continues, knowing that everyone thinks this is the solution, and they pretends that the problem does not come from there, but from the lack of support from the NBA and the " conspiracy" aimed at not making them more visible.

Every sensible human being on the planet is well aware of this but it would go against the argument that women can do anything a man can do and do it better. And that's not a slam against women. There is a clip of a player's teammate getting mad at her for not moving out of the way, so Griner - on the other team, can dunk. WTF!! In fact, any player in the WNBA who can dunk, will be given free space to do so. You can't find contested dunks. A compilation video made in 2022 of every WNBA dunk in history is on RU-vid. It's barely over 1 minute long.

I'm 5'7 and there was a court in my neighborhood with 9 ft rims. Man it was fun to be able to dunk and clap the backboard like 6'7" dude. I agree it might make the game more exciting. They would still be slow and unathletic but at least they could dunk.
