Coach, love the vids as always. I’d love to see a vid to help with fight endurance or even general cardio? I’m a terrible runner and wondered what magic you had hidden up your sleeve. Thanks.

@@benjaminwhistle6841 I’ll let the experts respond with regards to training recommendations. But to address the concern with your trainer, all fighters will have their own strengths and therefore require a different approach to training. Sounds like he is using a generic and standard routine which I imagine he uses for every other fighter? Iv been with the same trainer for nearly 11 years now and consider him family. If you don’t have that mentality, based off what you have said I feel you need to take the plunge and find a new trainer/gym before they make you fall out of love with the sport.

@@benjaminwhistle6841 hey Benjamin. Not sure why you’re doing static stretching mid workout. These workouts are complicated. Everyone’s methods are different it seems, not everything will work for you. Look at Phil’s results and take it from there. I think you’ve asked really good questions tho, always great to have a discussion

There's a really great book called "Ultimate MMA Conditioning" by Joel Jamieson. I'd bet anything Phil Daru has read it.. It's not new, but is kind of timeless and explains in a very understandable way your body's energy systems and how to build them into a powerful engine of conditioning. Have to always be learning... I would highly recommend this as a solid addition.

Train Only your Aerobic Side for 5-6 months, follow the Maffetone method, do some Aerobic Power and some Aerobic Capacity, and during the rest days do at least 6rounds of hiit on the heavy bag

I know this is a year old comment, but I figure most of his workouts would still apply. His plyos work change of direction, which is big in baseball and they work rotational power, so swinging.

Low level plyos are omnipresent the progressions start to go higher amplitude getting closer to fight time roughly 6-8 weeks out
