I will tell you from years of trying to fight this battle. Cycling with jack up your prostate. Especially mountain biking. I love the sport and tried every damn seat. I am predisposed to this I guess and cycling will aggravate the crap out of your prostate and then indirectly your bladder. This hit me at 37 and it sucks. Feeling like you have to pee 24/7 and bladder on fire. Cycling will not help. After 9 years of this trust me.
Same here, some people are sensitive in that area, and I’m one of them. I was competing in road cycling and mountain biking over long distances. Now I just ride 10 miles tops, and I do more weight training.
Why would he say to do cyclibg if he's wrong that it does not hellp I mean that does not make sense maybe something wrong with those who it does the opposite to cycle. I dont know just curious and do not know if I should trust this video
guess who had a folly catheter taken out and 3 days later rode his bicycle a couple of miles and had to go back to hospital the next morning for another one ?
I've seen yrs ago in cycling magazines that it can be bad for your prostate. They started making bicycle seats with a hole in the area where your prostate would be or softer ones perhaps with some gel cushioning.
Cycling is putting pressure right on your prostate gland, including repeated hits when you encounter rough terrain. A padded seat won't make much difference. Avoid it!
City rides on good roads are ok to cycle for seniors. I am 63 , have been cycling for the last 10 years, apart from dribbling, am able to empty the whole bladder, while at the testing lab in the hospital.
I drink hot green tea & barley without sugar every day, take saw palmetto during the day & Terazosin 2mg at night, eat less meat & seafood, have grapes, almonds & raw pumpkin seeds as snacks & oftenly brisk walking help me with the stress. I suffered BPH since February 2023 & I feel I am back to normal since 20 April...no more feeling any stress above my anus & nocturia complete gone. Morning wood is insanely uncontrolled but no discomfort 😅
Whether taking saw palmetto along with the allopathic medecine at night may have any chance of interaction. I am concentrating on diet as well as medecine at night with yoga exercises additionally. I didn't have discomfort so far but to take psa level and usc simultaneously
I have heard specialists warm against cycling too, related to the prostate. I rose this question to a cyclist overt 25 years ago and his reply was, "I'd never thought about that." I'm now 77, but coincidentally bladder incontinence has become an occasional problem for me since my city bike with a wide seat was stolen and I started riding a mountain bike with a sports seat regularly. Regarding yoga, there are modalities with straining exercises that I suspect we should avoid. Instead, stretching exercises, which don't put excessive pressure on any part of the body, might be helpful. Otherwise, I appreciate Dr Jedosa's advice.
Not really; cycling won't worsen your enlarged prostate. If you enjoy cycling, look for a more comfortable, padded bike saddle. Or just pick other exercises that you enjoy. And of course, get second opinions from your doctor.
@@Dr.JedosaThePharmDabsolutely right. Cycling doesn't do any harm to prostrate. Myself do cycling every morning. As I ride on, I feel as though going back to my teens.. Feel supremely confident even at 50+ Feeling good is the best sign of perfect circulation of blood to even remotest capillaries of our body, which otherwise remain sleepy most part of our lives as we grow up. The total length of our capillaries is equal to the circumference of the earth, about 40000 km. So imagine, how long and how important it is to irrigate all the time to keep body taut and healthy. Only walking is capable of irrigating the them most efficiently without straining. Any pace -- slow or brisk -- will result the same in most cases. But one has to be extra careful about the pair of the sneakers, just like the seat of the bicycle. Dr. is correct in advising... enjoy it. But then seat has to be softly cushioned according to individual need. If needed, change often.
The Best Exercise: Thrice weekly ejaculations -- stimulates proper prostate function. A healthy prostate is an empty prostate. Yes, more anti-inflammation foods, turmeric and teas (black or green), less sugar.
It's great to hear that you're staying active with yoga, swimming, and working out. This puts you in may be the 1% of men because many people don't like to exercise. even though you said your symptoms have not improved. But just think about what would happen to you if you were not doing any exercise. On top of that, exercise provides many other benefits for your health. So keep up the good work and stay healthy.
You don't have to get up at night. You can pee in bed while lying on your side. I was savaged by a dog a few years ago, and was laid up in a hospital bed until I could walk. During that time I used a special plastic bottle with a bent neck, where I simply lay on my side to relieve myself. I still use that bottle today so I don't have to trot to the loo at night. Useful when I travel, too. You can get them in most pharmacies. 😅
Use a recumbent instead of an upright exercise bicycle, because the triangle seat can press against the urethra (even the one with the grove). Dr. Jedosa, where did you copy all these tips?
Cycling not advised in sr citizen because of friction by cycle seat yoga pranayamam as you advised and walking very good tu superb dr Radhakrishnan sr citizen
Wow, watching how the hems practically melted away within 48 hours, feels so good lol, I used what I talked about the other day, well it actually took about 72 hours for them to totally shrink and disappear, I just go’ogled Melissa Thanderski and the sense of relief is so worth it.
Narrow is not always the problem. Find a saddle that aligns with your sit bones but also has an opening to keep the pressure and grind away from the sensitive parts.
I too found this recommendation a little puzzling. I cycle all the time. I never thought it was beneficial to my prostate necessarily - possibly hazardous actually. I do have one of those bicycle seats with a crevasse in the middle and try to change my position on the seat as I ride.
@@kasnarfburns210 I think overall cycling benefits outweigh the negatives, concentrated exercise movement and blood circulation to legs and pelvic region plus endorphin high balance any negative regarding seat pressure.
My husband was a cyclist when he was younger. Now in his 70's, he's having to pee a lot, which I hear is normal for any guy (will get checked out). He hasn't biked in years and I want to get a stationary exercise bike for myself with a big seat. If he's only on it 1/2 hour a day at most, is that OK?
Don't take any notice of these RU-vid channels Never mind exercises go to the doctor and get it investigated. Take it from someone that did and got it sorted.
