When I started- the beginning of last Summer- I distinctly recall people telling me that one of the great things about this game is that it's free! Here's me less than a year later with an overdue electric bill and a bunch of flat packages in the mailbox!
Sucker. Stop buying overpriced plastic...buy production plastic...these limited run production stamps and hyped discs are for the whales. I laugh thinking about all the fools who spent big money on the Tilt...because they HAD to have one...and it was basically a dog watering plate. lol....
@@sriousprobs477 Imagine how much more you could have donated with that same amount of money buying production beginner discs and beginner bags? That really isn't the point though is it...Charity. You look better handing out Ledgestone discs and Grip Bags. You are clearly a generous person...but my argument that wasting money on rare hotstamps and hype stands as Foolish. Buy one man a steak...or a family a chicken...
@@sriousprobs477 If you have the money...go for it. I still think it is foolish to pay $20+ for the same disc you can get for $12...that flies exactly the same. I am a man of many hobbies...I am well aware of my own foolish spending. Guess I never reached that point buying Discs.
@@xzysyndrome no one bought a tilt for anything but the funnies. Well actually one of my friends said he was planning on bagging it. But he’s a special case, not helping those people.
I don't understand the love for Wraiths, or just for Overstable discs in general. For me that high Fade results in like 20+ ft less distance than I get out of a Stable or Understable disc. For certain shots obviously it's great to have that much Fade but if I have a wide open shot I'm never grabbing an Overstable disc. I may like a beat in Wraith but I don't throw it enough to get it beat in.
As far as distance drivers go the wraith is fairly middle road for stability. What is your normal distance? If your arm speed is lower it will make drivers appear to be much more stable than the numbers would imply.
@@TheScottishKayaker I throw 270 on average but occasionally can hit 300 but that's only with discs that are 1 or 2 fade. I throw overstable discs like 250 tops
It's definitely an arm speed thing. If you have a slower arm speed it makes perfect sense why you would like understable disc. Nothing wrong with that, but that is your answer. I throw a lot of understable disc for shot shaping in the woods, but for distance, over stable is the way to go because it can handle more torque without flipping over.
Got a Hex in the mail yesterday, first throw today I spit out an ace from 335. Used it for slight turnovers, pushing hyzers, and straight tunnel shots. Absolutely worth the money
A z buzzz is like 15 bucks. You will no question get 10 times the life out of that over anything DX. If this video were directed at children then maybe.
@@futthet6743 agreed. I think swanky has a lot of innova fan boys. Where as, I have a mixed bag, I throw almost anything and Innova is near the bottom of the barrel.
@@AndrewHipskind yea can’t stand Innova for their immoral business practices. Their crap quality makes that very easy too. The Katana might be the worst mold of all time, but also who knows, it may just be their lack of quality control.
I thought for sure that would have been #1. Good for putting and great for approach shots. Holds any angle regardless of the power you put into it. All for $8!
@@Arrica101 it's pretentious to hate the feel of the DD burst plastic when it has been extremely difficult to find their classic blend wardens? I don't care for the stiffness and slippery texture. It's why I had to stop throwing and putting Wardens once classics got hard to find. Bought a ton of soft roaches when they became available, basically the same disc.
Personally would have voted streamline trace. Very very similar to a wraith but I love the plasmas plastic and you can get it for only $15. Also flies further than a wraith for me and fights wind better
I grabbed a hailey king halo mako 3 and it was pretty costly ($28) on eBay. Compared to my long go to which is star, it is a bit heavier and is a little more stable, but man it is GLIDEY. I throw my old one 169g about 300ft and this new one was going 10-20ft further despite being heavier. They are both really flat, but the halo is a little stiffer.
I see Mako3's for $12.00 at Innova Factory. Why on earth would you spend $28 on one from ebay? Hotstamps do not translate to distance and accuracy. You bought a wall hangar...
The Harp is a great disc but not in Origio plastic necessary but BT Hard/Medium/Soft. I think they're in the same price range BUT at least I definately prefer the feeling over the dx like Origio. Especially for forehanding I like the softer ones since it is easier to get a really solid grip.
For my money you cant beat walking into a play it again sports and walking out with some old champion midrange like a shark or a manta that some fool traded in. 10 bucks for a perfectly seasoned stableish midrange in a plastic that doesnt degrade quickly Champion plastic can do interesting things to a disc and ive never been disappointed
The Mako3 is great because it is one and done. For most courses in public parks, you can play a whole round with just the Mako3. So for $10 you can get a lot of disc golf played.
I would argue the best disc for the money is Axiom Hex... That Neutron plastic is just amazing! Subjective, of course, but to me it feels much better in the hands than a Buzzz and seems to hold whatever line I put it on better. My top go-to mid-range unless there's a headwind.
The Hex intrigues me. I just snagged a Lucid Pre EMAC Truth and still have a Buzzz so I don't have room in the bag ATM. I am always looking to buy more discs so a Hex will probably end up in my bag one day. haha
DX wraith is definitely more understable from the other plastics. Especially right after a tree hit. Slower arm speeds can benefit from throwing a DX Wraith and feel like they are not a wimp with that 11 rating. Defintely don't confuse a DX Wraith with other plastics as it is a different beast altogether.
DX wraith sux way too Flippy but the DX Thunderbirds are very good 🔥 Back hand disc 325. Never flips over and has a soft consistent finish. I've bought 4 in the pàst year all the same
Avery Jenkins destroyer!. Hah But it is crazy about the dx rock. Something about it that work but I've never liked dx any else cuz I love champion everyting. Harp is one my favorite ever
Number 4 was supposed to be a KC roc for sure. KC plastic is certainly a rip off for a a thrower. Much better getting something that won’t break very frequently.
The real answer here that everyone sleeps on in Millenium anything. In particular the OLF… it’s a wraith top/firebird bottom (literally) that flys like a CD2… innova made, it’s $14 for Sirius (star)!plastic. Flight numbers 9,5,-1,2, and it’s got an incredibly familiar feeling rim considering it uses elements from2 of the most popular molds in everyone’s bags!
See I was gonna come here and say KC Pro Roc. Just a step above the DX. Dx Rocs are great too. KC Pro F2 runs around $10. I think the slower speed and rim shape make the plastic more durable. Shape it well and it glides nice. Any driver in DX gets major gouges as soon as you hit something fast. That being said, DX Wraith was one of my first distance drivers and it put up with a lot!
I also will throw a couple fresh F2 DX drivers when I know a course will have water carries. Rather lose $6 to figure it out than my special discs if you don't make it!
I bought a dx teebird and out of the box it became a roller disc. I even made sure it was close to max weight but I’m not sure what happens with DX discs but they always seem to not reflect their flight numbers
Dude is gettin snobby about what he likes and doesn't like and even more so about what other people like lol. Take a shot every time he rolls his eyes.
A disc that really deserves mentioning is the Discmania active sensei. It's cheap, it's a great driving putter, great approach disc, good putting putter, a one disc round machine oh and it's cheap.
