Bro I was cad searching, was gonna end up buying a 2019 rogue with 50k kms for $1000 more than I paid for my 1rs trax😅 I didn’t think I’d be able to get my hands on one bc they were sold out everywhere until a dealership called saying someone had defaulted on their order so I got so lucky. This car is definitely the best bang for your buck in 2023 hands down.
@@Hunter-op3dx Unless your drag racing, or in the side shows, it’s a pretty good idea having a 3 cylinder, great gas mileage and not bad for long trips!! You want speed get a Camaro or corvette, you definetly won’t pay less than 24 for it tho
be careful, its a nice car but if you need any parts due to an accident, you cant get parts, because they haven't made any extra parts, not even an ETA date,,,, I'm dealing with this now.
I snagged mine Saturday. I got the mosaic black LT and the one I lucked out on has every upgrade offered in these Trax. I have the sunroof, the full electronics package, the seats are a leatherette/cloth combo, heated seats and wheel, wireless charging pad, the works, and it's fun as hell to drive. Got mine for $26,000 out the door with gap insurance and extended warranty. I happened to be at the dealership as they were unloading it and knew I found a steal as I hadn't seen another LT fully loaded like this anywhere and with more upgrades than any of the RS trims I had looked at. I prefer the blue accents inside the LT as there are just a few on the dash and not allover the seats like the RS. The red or yellow in the others continues it onto the seats which I didn't like at all. The only change I'm making are the gold bowties to black ones. If you can find one like mine there's no way I'd go with a higher trim because really all that changes are the inches of the wheels, electric seat adjusting and seat material. Im obsessed with mine! She's a sexy little thing for this mama to drive around to all the HomeGoods in town, lol. 2 of my 3 kids are out of the house now so I got to downsize from my big SUV and this was the perfect little crossover to do it in. I don't need a luxury car but I feel like I'm not sacrificing much honestly. The tech in the car is so incredible at this price point, it was a no-brainer and I love it!!
They don't have any replacement parts for this car. I love my 2024 trax Activ but I had an accident and it broke my rear window out and damaged the liftgate. This happened in May 2023. I still can't get my car repaired because THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR THIS CAR... I cant even get an estimate on it. Be careful!!! GM does not have any answers for me. They say parts might not be available until November or December, Possibly not until next year, So I'm driving my car without the rear window and a liftgate that wont close. I'm a very dissatisfied customer with General Motors.... They get your money but then they don't care one bit about you.... BE CAREFUL!!!!! Jan Bloss,,,
Had the same issues with the new '23 Honda accord. The car had a bad radio unit and needed to be replaced as it kept draining the battery when I parked it in the garage and locked it. Car sat for 4 months waiting for parts also the build quality was sub par in some places. Lesson learned Never buy first year on new styling cycles always wait as parts and production quality improves.
They deff have parts. Don’t talk shit if you’re one of those people who just takes their vehicles to a shop for repairs. Any dealer will say they don’t have parts because they only use gm oem. You don’t need oem. There other brand name parts that are compatible with the car and cheaper than gm oem parts
@@jonnysnipes3123 when a new model/ bodystyle comes out there will be a brief point in time where parts are hard to get because the car manufacturer is prioritizing production of the car rather than building a bank surplus of parts. Also the manufacturer will not just offer aftermarket suppliers to manufacture parts for said new car right away because that would not only look bad on the manufacturer but also steal clients away who buy genuine parts. Give it a few months and parts will become more readily available. It happens more often than you think friend
@@jonnysnipes3123if you have a manufacturer's warranty, the dealership is where you go to get repairs done. If the dealerships are telling you they don't have parts available to repair your vehicle then you're stuck out. Don't talk shit if you don't know what you're talking about
That's the only downside to this car. 3 Cylinder???? It can be fine if you don't beat it, but the wet timing belt is STOOPID. Hope they change that in future model years. Otherwise, very good job overall
Using a wet timing belt tells you one thing, that the manufacturer has only built the car to last as long as the warranty period. After that you're probably screwed.
Just make sure you're charging your oil every 6,000 miles and allow for the turbo charger to cool off for 2 to 3 minutes before shutting down the engine, so the oil doesn't bake in the turbo plumbing.
It's not the 3 Cyl engine thats the biggest fear. It's the wet timing belt. I definitely don't like the 3 cyl idea, but if you're gentle on it, and change the oil in time, it should be OK.
I am considering one of these for my next vehicle. I like the look and price. I would upgrade the speakers though to make it *perfect* as I do love my music.
I test drove it and the only annoying thing is the laggy shifting. The acceleration was comparable to the CX30 despite Chevrolet using a castrated engine
@cbruno12180 you rather cosmetics than performance? At least you'll be comfortable sitting in a non running car after 4-5 years. And you'll spend another 30k to buy another one.
1) The design is biting Hyundai/ Kia style. 2) Agree, tons of space. 3) The older Equinox have USB ports right there, they could have placed AC vents there with 1 port. 4) Agree, Chevy knows how to do comfy seats, nothing new. 5) Agree, price is a bargain at MSRP but it's because they went cheap on materials under the hood and at the suspension system.
1) probably because it was designed by Korean engineers and literally built in Korea... this is NOT a Chevy designed is a good thing. 3 & 5) you get what you pay for... cheap is cheap... people keep wanting a Cadillac for cheapest Chevy prices, that's not how the world works. Nobody is making you buy the cheapest car out there... there are plenty of cars with 2nd row ventilation... and you're going to pay for it if you want it.
Why no ventilation in the second row?? Do car makers forget that second row passengers need air too? So annoying! Make this awesome affordable car, and skip on ventilation. 🤦🏼♀️
Did you want a super cheap subcompact or a more expensive luxury car? Pick one. You can certainly get a more luxurious car with 2nd row ventilation if you want to pony up the dough for one. If you want to be cheap, you get cheap.
I test drove the Trax and wasn’t impressed. It honestly felt like a $21,000 car. The Buick Envista had a much better build quality and drove much better. I would honestly spend the couple grand more and buy the base model Envista. I ultimately ended up getting the Nissan Rogue but I think I would’ve been just as happy with the Envista. The Trax: not so much.
The Envista and Trax literally share the same drive train, there's zero reason they would handle differently, it's all in your head. The interior is different, but the drive train is identical. Don't forget GM has a long and glorious history of rebadging the same car.
@@bmw803Chevrolet aint Toyota. I'd buy a GR Corolla in a heartbeat knowing it'll be reliable. This thing? Lets just say I wouldn't want to own one outside its warranty period.
@AWMJoeyjoejoe So, laws of physics don't apply to Toyota? Of course not. Ramming 300hp in a 3 cyl engine is bad, but putting a Toyota logo exempts it? Typical "name" and "perception" thinking.. Go ahead, pay for the name. Newer Toyotas are just as good or bad as most of the competition.
it’s funny though because my aunt just got one like 3-ish weeks ago and is already having issues with the electronics/sensors 😂 idk why they try and put so much electronic sh!t in cars that won’t even last
@@dorrieengland9861are you willing to pay extra for rear air vents, or were you expecting a Cadillac at cheapest Chevy prices? Lots of vehicles out there with rear air vents, they also cost more than 26K. Ask your rear occupants to pay the difference.
But by God YOUR MORE THAN WELCOME TO PAY FOR 2ND ROW VENTILATION IN A MORE EXPENSIVE CAR. It's a subcompact... the backrow passengers can probably adjust the front row vents without leaning forward. You get what you pay for.
It's 21K. It's designed to be affordable and by streamlining production, they can keep costs low and offer affordable vehicles. Most owners don't need AWD. If you absolutely need it, plenty of other models out there.
@@abdoulazizdialloadou7214that i dont want a car with a 10 year old design in it that they couldnt get right back then and im guessing it still wont be 😂
Love how these guys all qualify their claim that it's a economical price by saying "in this market today". They know it is absurdly over priced and a terrible value. There is no such thing as an economical car today, only cheap ones at ridiculous prices.
@@sublimegreen 🤣🤣 u wish idiot , is that why chevy is always on the bottom of the list for owning and reliability, if they stop making such poor quality vehicles they wouldn't be going thru another government bail out 🤣 Already own 5 chevys , some of us learn from our mistakes lol
@@andrewsanders4044 This thing is American and the earnings stay in the USA. Your Japanese thing is Japanese and the earnings stay in Japan. Its all American engeeneering. Your thing is built here and all made in your Japan.😏
As much hate as my vehicle (Ford EcoSport 2.0 AWD) gets, it's far more reliable and solid than this piece of crap. It's subframe has way more backbone. This is a far better LOOKING vehicle, but that junk wet rubber timing belt in the engine is just asking for a major problem. It's not any better than the older Traxx's bad timing chain at 40-60,000 miles. In fact, it's worse. Planned obsolescence. Then there's it's plastic tie rod ends and TERRIBLE layout of the undercarriage. It's a pretty piece of garbage with a nice interior. Smooth, deceptive crap. If I had a pick between a brand new Traxx and my EcoSport with 9,000 miles...I'd stay with mine.
I just bought one. I'll say moving over from my hyundai they aren't the best. A bit muffly sounding at time. But im no dj knowing how to do all the crazy adjustments. Just a mom who loves 90s jams lol. I wouldn't say they are terrible though
@@ZaysWorlld Okay, let me spell it out for you... the 2024 Trax does not offer Bose or any reputable brand, its a running gag that your cell phone puts out more bass than the speakers that come with the 2024 Trax... on the plus side, it's relatively easy to upgrade your speakers in any car, I might recomend Crutchfield speakers, but to answer your question, the Trax speakers in 2024 are the cheapest car speakers for the cheapest car... when they offer such a low price for a car in 2024, sacrifices are and will be made... the speakers are one of the sacrifices.
I just came from a video of a guy saying this is the worst new car he ever bought and stuff like windows and ac don't work. Don't buy a Trax. It's a Chevrolet. I have also personally seen a brand new one with a bad DRL. It's not even 6 months old lol
It's a car to scoot about not not a racing car. Real world small families or couples Don't need performance vehicles. If they do they'll look elsewhere
@operator91210 Yeah I don't mind being slow but I heard it won't last past 150k miles because it has a 3cylinder with turbo so the engine will break down fast..
@@michaelarguello4906that goes with any car with turbos. Realistically though if you buy one are you really going to keep it past 150 thousand miles? Majority of consumers have an attention span of a puppy so it's not that much of a concern
@mmlawncare2531 How did people do years ago when hardly any car had back vents? Since when you need to have back vents because of children. My dad's car had no rear vents and I'm still alive. If rear vents is a requirement for you, that's OK, then FIND SOMETHING ELSE. 98% of buyers won't give 2 fucks and manage with what this 21K car has.
This car was meant to be AFFORDABLE, so adding a bunch of shit in it, price goes up. The idea of having a somewhat barebone car is good. Many don't care about extra features.
Do any of you understand the concept of affordable? People want this they want that, heated rear seats, 6 cyl engine, blah blah blah. Its AFFORDABLE! Adding all that stuff will make the price go up. That's why it doesn't have those features and it shouldn't have to be explained to you.
Chevy needs to bring back the compact sedan to America with the design language of the new Trax and offer a 208 hp 1.5L turbo 4-cylinder option in the RS trim.
Thats including freight and dealer prep charges. Also UAW asks for raises and you'll be seeing those raises driving up the freight charges and MSRP. Prices go up every year
Doesn't Toyota have a 3 cylinder engine? GR Corolla? So, why is a 3 cylinder in a Toyota ok? It's also turbo charged and pushing 300 hp. Insane pressure in a small engine. But, of course Toyota is exempt from laws of physics.
It's a 21K car. Unless you absolutely need AWD, get something else. Most buyers don't need AWD. This car is targeting the average Joe that needs basic transportation and is on a budget. This represents the majority.
A tiny 3 cylinder with a weak trans that takes 2 years to shift, has 130 hp, and no rear ac vents. In a 2024. There’s usually always a reason some cars are cheaper, remember chevy cruze? Yeah you get what you pay for.
That's what this car is meant for. Not designed for picky people that bitch about insignificant details. For 21K, this car has a lot. Want a race car? Buy a Corvette!!!. Someone on a budget could give 2 fucks about those details.
AWD requires extra equipment, higher costs and most people don't need it. This car was meant to be affordable and reach out to a segment of buyers that want BASIC and affordable transportation. Maybe, they should cancel the Trailblazer and offer AWD on the 2 top trims.
Want power? Buy a Corvette!!!! THIS NOT A RACE CAR. It's basic and affordable transportation to get you from A to B. Most of the time you're in cities between traffic lights or in freeway traffic.
1.2 liter inline 3 that’s fwd only? I genuinely wonder who would even buy this😂 Not only does it look terrible, but I don’t even know how you’d get up to passing speeds.
Many people think it looks good, so unless a divine authority nominated you to decide for everyone's tastes, then WE DONT GIVE 2 FUCKS if you think it looks terrible. Looks are subjective. As for the engine, didn't Toyota made a 3 cylinder Corolla GR?
@@bmw803 Someone’s salty😂 My opinion on it has kinda changed a tiny bit since I commented… it looks a little good, but I still hate that Chevy put that pewnie 1.2 in-line 3 in it. Toyota did a kick ass job on the gr corolla , so much in fact that I want one, but those trax’s are soooo slow
@anaccount7923 not salty at all, I just don't understand people's logic. THIS IS A 21k ENTRY LEVEL car. As Alex ( on Autos ) would say " SET YOUR EXPECTATIOND ACCORDINGLY". GR Corolla is a performance version, but a 3 cylinder with 300 HP? That's INSANE pressure. So, why would that engine not have issues and the Trax would. I don't like the idea either, but if driven gently, no reason it should give major issues.
@@bmw803 I mean i guess, if you’re a person with 0 interest in cars or a senior citizen, I’d understand wanting a cross over like this. But for someone who only drives fun cars?
