it is borderline evil... perfect; Paladins should to get their boots dirty more often without all the self-righteous rhetoric... have to ask yourself what might've happened if Stratholme wasn't purged, but in a time of pandemic, think I'm now on Uther's side for my own sake, which is narrow mindedly morale, and big picture selfish... paladin's use words like "purify" and "purge," but they're basically like Maiev who pretends she's not in it for revenge and defends her actions as "justice," where as at least Illidan is truthful when he calls his work vengeance...

Whatever the Cost is remarkable in how flavourful it is for how simple it is. You shouldn't be able to get that much out of two simple effects, name and artwork.

Exactly! I'd love to see this idea further expanded, like creating an "Oathbreaker Paladin" deck in Hearthstone that gives you strong Warlock-like cards but you have to sacrifice your Paladin cards

Bonus point if Whatever the Cost has some special interaction if you play it with the Arthas hero! "This entire city must be purged" Extra bonus points if, when the enemy hero is Uther, he replies "How could you even consider that? There's got to be another way!"

It was never that much. If it was, misplays were made. Artificier should be on the board 2 turns at most.

Once I got to like 92 armor with Mage, but I still lost because of the broken infinite Shudderwock combo back in the Witchwood times. Man, the meta was really crazy back then

Whatever the Cost could also be a Adventure Card where they introduce a "real" Death Knight class. The main Adventure's mechanic would be that you switch weak paladin cards for more powerful versions of them as a Death Knight. While Whatever that Cost would be expensive to play at the start of the adventure, later (when you already embraced Evil) it could be a basic component of your deck.

Frost nova isnt as extreme, since my minions usually still have taunt, dormant it just silences the effect for the duration.

Here's an idea 1. steal a circle of protection as rouge 2. play Myra's unstable element 3. infinite armor?

For me its one of the 2 options : If you have 3 card in hand and 23 card in deck, myra make you draw 7 cards and distroy the 16 other so you gain 35 armor (if your deck have 3 cards instead you gain 15 armor) you draw card untill your deck is empty and you draw in the previous case 23 cards so you gain 115 armor

Once you fill your hand the other cards are not counted as "drawn", this has been a known interaction for awhile.

Doesn’t Myra’s check after each individual draw to see if you still have cards in your deck? If so then that should work as you’ll always still have cards in your deck.

I agree, or it should start at like 5 mana and say the next time you cast this spell it costs 2 less or something like that (after doing something terrible once it's easier to do more terrible things). Arthas does a lot of other extreme stuff after stratholm like destroying his ships to force his men to fight in Northrend so I think something like this would let you run 2 while fitting the theme. Uther and Jaina should totally have reaction lines to this card if it's played by the Arthas hero btw.

@@ElfosDeMordor It shouldn't really be built around. The whole thing is a moment of desperation that breaks the class. You sacrifice class identity for a moment of strength. Maybe have it generated from something else? I would enjoy if it also worked like a reverse of 'Renounced Darkness', where all the paladin cards in hand and deck are replaced with a difference class.

I would fix the *Void Prison* effect by maybe making it work like Togwaggle: 6 mana *Void Prison* : Make all minions go dormant for two turns, give an "Awaken" card to your opponent (that cost 4 or 5 mana and awakens all minions).

That is actually a nice solution put it on a legendary so you only have it deal with it once and I think you are actually looking at an interesting card. And then you print some nice wake up effects for Priest (think draw or heal) that are Recycled by the effect and you actually end up at an interesting place.

I think dormant would be even better than killing since the opponent can't add any minions on a full board for two turns, locking out certain decks completely early on.

That's the problem, it would lock most decks out on turn 6. You can also run two copies of it. It's just unfun to play against. If you didnt play when freeze mage was big. Think about when the newer priest quest came out, and we spent the first 5 - 7 turns not attacking face. That's basically what it would feel like

Pretty sure Whatever The Cost refers to the purging of stratholm, if that is the case, the card fits the paladin theme/class very well.

Whatever the cost is highly in flavor for paladin. There is an ability in WoW called Divine Intervention, where the paladin sacrifices himself to make an ally invulnerable. In the same way, that card is sacrificing the paladin to get a huge payoff, and potentially save the game.

Why would it? You need to reach then 10 and then get mecha'thun out AND hope your enemy doesn't kill it AND only have paladin cards in your hand... Mecha'lock will eat this for dinner, as would pretty much all combo decks in existence.

Circle of Protection with Puzzle Box, would be saving you from dying from fatigue since you usually draw few cards with the Box.

Okay, quick fix of circle of protection: Turn the armor into "Temporary Armor", where it would more or less last until the opponent ends their turn. Think of it kind of like Ice barrier if you somehow draw a ton of cards

How about just 1 or 2 armor, because JESUS CHRIST “gain 5 armor every time you draw a card” ON A 0 MANA CARD WITH A SPELL TAG, so yeah, a simple fix is to either raise the mana cost or lower the armor gain so that the flavor is still kinda there

That would be an interesting interaction idea. Gain 5 armor for each card left in your deck, draw none, but your deck still burns. Lot of armor but nothing left to draw

7:24 Obviously a mill mage card. play this play Cho and play two Research projects and 2 cold light oracles. You get 40 armor and get an 8 card lead to fatigue. Also giving opponent even more useless card draw to clog their hand. You can also use Brann to make it 60 armor and 12 card lead to fatigue.

Cursed could be an upside in self damage decks with vulture and the such, don’t know the wild meta but I think those might work there too with things like the lifesteal spell that upgrades when your cards damage you if control lock is still a wild thing.

I like Void Prison because it also works on Dormant affects which means u can use your dormant affect more than once, but it can backfire because your opponents Scrap Imp will be able to buff twice.

That high five with crystalsmith kangor will feel very dirty.. Cursed mechanic is pretty awesome and has lot of potentials.. Har'zaat idea is very cool, and it fits in warlock theme.. All the custom cards gets better and better everyday, that amazing.

Circle of Protection would be cool if it had that 1 mana elemental's effect. Like gain 3 armor every time you cast a spell this turn. Something like that. Love the idea of Warlock cards that damage you while they're in your hand.

7:42 I would guess that the "cursed" mechanic is based off of the Cursed! spell generated off Curse of Rafaam or the corrupting ability of Chaos Gazer. Both of these are niche cards and I love the idea of the mechanic.

Circle of Protection 5 stars in wild in combination with Yogg: +1 magic to his activation and instead of drawing it gives armor, so no overdraw, no fatigue, only pyroblast (and other spells) to your face are to fear.

That dormant card would be extremely annoying and probably be the best "board clear" even surpassing psychic scream. With 2 copies you basically get to take 4 turns while your opponent has to hero power pass. Also, as many others have pointed out, you can also set up some combo shenanigans by "protecting" pieces along the way such as double radiant elemental+dormant is a "board clear" and "guarantees" a combo in 2 turns.

That sounds pretty fun! You have to play octosari and have it last a turn, then if you have a way to kill it you just gain 40 armour - you probably wouldn't last that long against aggro anyway

I like void prison for the purposes of combo. Like imagine your Archmage Vargoth pops out of dormancy the moment you're ready to drop a REALLY big spell. In fact that could be a fun addition to spell druid - just Mayew your own Vargoth. Then when he "thaws" you're ready to go with the 8 mana "Give all your minions +2 +2 and taunt". Boom now they all get blessing of kings.

But companion is Magic's version of Genn and Baku, which are in turn version's of commanders from mtg.

@@texhenning9603 not really, commanders only affect your game while they're in play and have no restrictions whatsoever, companions have the same effect, but you can use multiple copies of them in your deck, just like any other card, and can be played from outside the game by paying 3 generic if a condition is met during deckbuilding, baku and genn affect the entire game without exception

Maybe change Circle of Protection to a secret that gives you immune until your next turn when you draw a card - or attach the “gain five armor for each card drawn” that way it’s only the card draw from a single card’s effect.

Don't know if Wild is a consideration in these videos. But Circle of Protection could enable Freeze Mage to jam Aluneth into their deck without risking burning key cards. Traitorous Schemer as an OTK with Brann Bronzebeard seems pretty powerful.

Imagine Myra's Unstable Element + a stolen Circle of Protection. Armor Druid is still better but now Rogue can gain ridiculous amounts too (with luck)
