As a reluctant Texan, I can assure everyone that we all know, painfully, that our electric grid is separate from the federal grid. He can't lie his way into mindf*cking people into not knowing this. Having no electricity when it is 16 degrees outside overnight and facing still having it out when it was going to be -9 in the morning is not something people will forget. A 10 year old boy in my town froze to death. I will not ever forget or forgive for that.
I wish more Texans felt the way you did, but it seems the majority are partisan morons who will vote for a slimy monster like Cruz just because he’s Republican. It’s deeply depressing.
i'm so sorry to hear that. my fiance's mother & 5 year old sister were without power for over 48 hours. it got to 38° inside their house. we were still in texas at the time & we didn't have power for 18 and even just that long dropped our temp indoors to 46°. solidarity from a fellow texan
We are from Canada and we will be watching the hearings, best way to teach the kids about history as it plays out and anything that could possibly set precedent from here on. We have our own share of political drama up north here too, but Jan 6 was really something else.
I still think that every politician should have their sponsors' logos sewn onto their suit like race car drivers. That way anytime Ted Cruz says something stupid like the Green New Deal increases oil prices, we can look at his suit and go, "Ooh, he's Chevron's spokesman! That's why he said it!"
Yeah .....that way Joe Biden could wear a Burisma patch to go along with the kickback from giving the Ukraine billions of dollars in money and arms........and voted no on financial aid for Americans while stripping away the constitution........you guys are a sad bunch of sheep !
@@AustynSN To be fair to both of you (and a more complex picture of reality), Trump's attempt at a takeover and the Bush/Cheney oligarchy that's hijacked the Democratic party are both examples of tyrannical government. If they can convince all of you to think that you can only choose between them, all the liberals and conservatives will lose.
The party didn't attempt a coup. Some people gathered around for a few hours. The whole thing was blown out of proportion. If you cared, you'd look up the damage and lives lost caused by the brats rioting in the streets for the past several years.
Sure. One is an established definition. Armalite rifle. The other (pronouns) is a made up thing based on a mental disorder that is now accepted as a different flavor of perverse.
That's sort of how this "snowflake" mocking looks like it originally got going. Folks were demanding things SO specially indulgent outside of groups having a consensus to do it that it was looking both like imposition and silliness. Otherwise fairly liberal, I really am not a fan of this; it's not my bag. Let me say he or she without getting nagged on. Let those truly feeling on the fence about it personally accept the possibility of both and go graciously with the situation, for it's intended to address him/her/them. Once it's known "please call me him (or her or even them)" it should then be carried forth in the situation, just like someone might say "I am Dr." if addressed as Mr. or Ms. But please don't insert parochial gotchas into the language. (Though I could see an honorary M. pronounced "em" if things ever get to that point. Keeping a language standard, however, has to be a rather conservative thing if social changes are not to immediately raise a tower of babble.) The NRA can call all its guns things other than "assault rifle." Let it. We see a subjective side that they aren't interested in bringing to the fore, for it may dampen demand.
@@Houlgravely all Democrats are neo-liberals and some Republicans, too. The rest of the Republicans are straight up fascists. There are definitions for these words on the Google, if you're confused

I know the writers don't read these comments, but "4 out of 5 Doctors agree that [Dr. Oz] is the other doctor" is just a phenomenal joke, and I think whoever wrote it should get a bonus.
Dr. Oz is a great reason why I am glad I no longer live in PA. It was a great state while it lasted. RE: Pence, I firmly believe that if Pence had gone off with the SS detail, he would not have come back. Not because of any violence that could have happened to him, but to keep him from being to continue with the election certification. Pence was committed to it, just like he continued to be committed to tRump after Pence's life was threatened.
Yes, weren't there texts revealed from one of those groups (proud boys, oath keepers, etc.) Where they said if he left the election couldn't be certified? Also, that if he and congress left for the night that the capital would've been taken over? I forget where I saw this.
good old NEW MESSAGE! making several comments on every video to get as many seperate 5 - 10 likes as possible instead of rolling all his inane observations into one economical and efficient underwhelming rant
The writing and particularly the graphics dept were 👌on point with this one. So sharp and so funny at every beat. Bravo and welcome back. Also, the Rudy Giuliani cat was the first time I've seen him look normal. Bordering on cute Perhaps if he were a cat instead he'd be jumping up on the evolutionary scale and much more tolerable. *Rudy wanna treat? Wanna treat? Good boy!*
Get elected to gain power to enrich yourself by lobbying for corporations, politicians need to spread lies, conspiracy theories, and division.... and THAT is what Americans think is what makes this country GREAT! good luck Uncle Sam.
In the end, there is no discernible difference between Republicans and the NSDAP. The techniques and the hate propaganda do not differ in any way. No forgiveness, no forgetting! ☆
I used to be pretty much a GOP fan, but that was in the years before it lost its reason over an idol. Both parties have wild hairs. We jolly well can see that. There are some things being brought in to both as supposed guiding principles that are excessive or too narrowly focused. I both pray and believe God will deal well with all in due time, to calm down mania and broaden narrow minds. But the GOP has yet managed to get a full wild mullet, and as far as I was concerned in 2020, it earned a protest vote. This is not about yesterday's GOP or yesterday's Democrats. This is about what we have right now. If the GOP would chuck out both Trump and his pretentious legacy, and go back to more moderate things, I could easily go back to giving the GOP a nod again. But it may be the Democratic party that gets pulled towards a saner center as it finds it can't afford to waste effort and political capital on extremes and finds a more broadly social caring aim -- surely it cannot be ALL gay and black people and nothing else. We all have become one step away from being poster children now, with plague and war and scarcity and unbalanced burdens upon us. Whoever bows to reason first and takes it the most seriously how God has said "love your neighbor as yourself" is going to win, with extra blessing to those who understand that Christ is about that and not about dominating a secular people by force from churches, which wasn't even in the commands from Christ. Anyhow the boomerang on January 6, 2021 may be a long time coming back, but come back with a vengeance it very well may. Nobody likes sore losers that will breach anything to entertain their egos.
Dr. Oz is running to be a Senator for Pennsylvania, but he's not a resident of the state. He's actually a registered voter in New Jersey and in the nation of Turkey.
I always look forward to Seth's "A Closer Look" segments. You get the impression that Lauren Boebert probably thinks Hitler and Stalin were on the same side in World War II or that "hyperbole" is what you call the plumber for when the toilet or sink overflows, but one thing she's sure of is that it's blasphemy -- blasphemy, I tell you -- to misidentify any firearm!
Because the criminals were never held responsible brought to justice and made to pay real consequences for attacking the very foundation of our country, that's why!
OK as much as I hate Lauren Boebert.... The quote that Seth picked out -- if your legislator doesn't know that "AR" doesn't stand for "assault rifle", fire them -- I kind of agree with. Our dem legislators are not literate/educated on guns, so how can we expect them to pass *effective* legislation? Effective legislation is the only way we will save lives, and we need our representatives to be educated about this topic!!
And the same people who are attempting to pass " FOR THE CHILDREN" are the same people who support ROE V WADE that murders millions of children by abortion every year....that ignores the sexual abuse and violence against migrant children at the borden..the same ones who ignore the black children slaughtered in Chicago and the same who caused a sever shortage of infant formula so thousands of babies are starving.... and let's not forget Joe Biden jumping on the Uvalde TX shooting to push his gun control and confiscation agenda and who showed not one shred of empathy or compassion for grieving parents and traumatized children but made his speech all about him and evoked God to help him take away our 2nd amendment and God given right to protect our selves and loved ones... So..whats your point? ?
That's got to be a powerful motivator when you don't want to climb a ladder at 0430... "sure I'm freezing my ass off...but Fat Donny is whining in his sleep with every high-pitched yowl of these blades. Soldier on."
I think a lot of younger people won't get that joke. I thought it was brilliant. My mother used to own a small health food store and whatever Dr. Oz was touting that day people would come in and ask for it. We all thought it was hilarious. She ran a health food/supplement store, but she wasn't a wacko that thought herbs could cure anything and everything. In fact, they can be downright dangerous. She thought Oz was a quack.
"“I can’t trust Obama. I have read about him and he’s not, he’s not uh - he’s an Arab." - that nutty old Minnesota lady from McCain's 2008 campaign. Wonder how those Obama's-a-muslim Trumpublicans would react after finding out that Dr "Oz is a practitioner of transcendental meditation. He identifies as Muslim and said he 'chose to align his views with Sufism, a mystical Islamic sect.'" I guess he's "one of the good-ones" wink-wink. Or maybe "he don't look like an arab".
When the movie for Jan. 6th is inevitably made, I believe my favorite scene will be when dRump's secret service tries to take Pence away in a limo and he refuses because he doesn't trust his own boss not to kill him
You shouldn't take everything a commediane imbelishes to heart. Watch politics instead. Trump ordered his people to walk peacefuly and patriotic to the capitol and make their presence be seen.. Antifa , BLM and other groups broke into the capitol while Tutrmp was giving a speech, a mile away.
Trump wouldn’t know what a cat sounds like, felines are smart enough to know them smell of rotten oranges. The noise he makes sounds more like the narcissistic hell spawns he calls kids
That "people feel like" nonsense is how they skirt telling full on lies about what's happening, and its frustrating that they almost never get called out on it.
@@democracylives8448 There are only two pieces of evidence needed to prove Donald Trump's involvement in the January 6 coup attempt. First was Trump's public tweet inviting his mindless worshippers to come to Washington DC on January 6, and second was Trump's televised speech telling his mindless mob to march on Congress to "fight like Hell" to "stop the steal." Without Trump inviting the mob to Washington DC or telling the mob to march on Congress, the attack on the Capitol building would not have happened. There is nothing to investigate. All of this bluster is to frighten Trump into giving up on politics and going back to being a celebrity meme. If Trump were going to prison, he would have already been arrested. The evidence is publicly known and documented. It was broadcast on every channel.
Merrick Garland must be a Republican, because he's doing everything he can to avoid going after the big fish, or hog in this case. That's not fair...pigs have a useful function.

It will never happen. Apparently in America, presidents are above the law. America simply could not handle the embarrassment of locking up a president.
So if Texas's power grid is independent from the rest of the nation and Ted Cruz is responsible for the state of Texas, doesn't that mean Cruz is responsible for the power grid's failures-oh. Oooooooohhh! I get it now! Nice one, Teddie! Almost got away with it, too!

As a Pennsylvanian, I’d like to apologize that Dr. Oz made it this far. To everyone who now has to endure him on A Closer Look until November, I am sorry.
Exactly. Of it doesn't show a massive underlying problem...it's like, American whites are looking to burn their own nation down I guess. All they do here is vote against their own self interests...I don't believe federal voting should be a right. Should come with a test.

Every time I watch A Closer Look, I ask myself - "How can any decent, intelligent American vote Republican?" - only to realize that I just answered my own question.
Currently in Michigan, five GOP nominees for the office of Governor are off of the ballot due to signature fraud. One of them is the former top-cop of the Detroit Police Department, James Craig.
I live in Europe and have never even been to the States. Regardless, this sounds just another Tuesday in America to me. Fingers crossed that things will get better!
