How can you get out of a consent order you was pressured into signing that gave you joint legal custody? I am a family law attorney. I do not take clients who want sole custody unless there's absolutely heinous abuse of a child or the other parent is almost totallt absent. It doesn't even really matter if they're abusing you, as long as they're a half decent parent. If you want sole custody without there being a danger to your kid, you shouldn't have your kid. Your kid won't be 5 forever. They'll be 15 one day and they'll hate you for taking about their other most special person.

I think you should be very specific about what state you’re in because Oregon doesn’t offer up all the different forms of custody that you were talking about. It’s either sole custody or no custody.

I’m a grandma and my son witnessed the dad kicking my grandson because my grandson put a 3 q- tips in his bong. How do you address (in pleadings) the fact that the other parent - who has final say decision making - not only doesn't discuss ANY decisions, but continually tries to give their spouse the right to do so? I have mediation today in a couple of hours. Dad is taking me to court for whatever reason, he has an attorney and the facts of support were cut off. How the hell does a child benefit from being cut off from one of their parents? Anyone who attempts to gain sole custody instead of focusing on correcting whatever circumstances cause them concern regarding the other parents capacity to care for the child they have in common is unfit to care for a child unsupervised. Maybe instead of offering advice to remove children from one parents lives. Offer solutions for the one parent to addiction recovery anger management counseling ectect instead of people actively trying to remove the kids from one parent as it should never be the solution. You had kids with this person and didn't just happen so learn to work the situation out so both parents stay in kids lives.

You seem to make videos to just support terrible parents who want to alienate their child from the other parent. I know parents who make up lies to their kids and in court trying to alienate the other parent. It happens all the time. It’s damaging. It happened to me as a kid too. Seriously, there are some terrible lawyers out there too who don’t care one bit about the kids or any of that. The lawyer will just support their client through hell and high water to ruin the other parent because they get a paycheck. If people were more trauma informed maybe they would start to understand that abused kids often favor the abuser. The trauma bond is so strong and so real.

So my son's bio wants to take me to court for visitation since I filed soul custody I did this because he ghosted me my entire pregnancy, waited only until after the paternity test to even say a word to me, then never tried to contact me again till 5 months later on my son's 1st birthday And he had someone else do it for him.
