When you query the legalities of leaving the car unattended on a public road with the engine running an offence of ‘quitting’ is committed. The classic example is someone nipping into a corner shop and back out … leaving the engine running. The offence is also committed if a vehicle is left unattended with the parking / handbrake not applied. Interesting video thanks as mine is due in July 👍

Hello, I have been talking with some owners, with a corolla restyling 2023, and in their apps, that botton to switch on/off the climate doesn't appear. Did you have to do something "especial" to have that function? In the official website that function is available with that model. Thank you
When I collected my new car the salesman setup the link between my phone and the car. It took a few minutes and I must admit I didn't follow everything he did but at the end of it my new car was linked to the MyT app on my phone ... I didn't need to do anything extra to enable the climate control button in the MyT app. If that function is listed as available on your Corolla then it may be worth asking your dealer. Maybe the car has not been fully linked to either your MyT account or your phone.
Its a hybrid. My car is the Excel with the optional Tech pack (which I wanted because it includes a heads up display). In the UK Toyota only sell the Yaris with a hybrid engine. The petrol engine is not available.
I’m guessing this is an option extra you have to tick when buying the car. But after the initial purchase does this cost any extra. For example is the a subscription charge to get this connectivity going.
I bought the Yaris Excel with the Tech pack optional extra in 2022 ... I am almost certain that the Remote Start facility is a standard feature on the Excel grade. I bought the Tech Pack because I wanted a Head up Display - the Tech pack included a few other toys but I am almost certain certain that the Remote Start facility was standard on the Excel and nothing to do with the Tech pack. Toyota hasn't (yet !!!) started to charge a subscription for features so I am not paying any monthly or annual fees for any features on my car.
I just bought 73 plate Yaris gr sport without any pack, and doesn't have Remote locking via Myt or Remote AC via Myt, is it possible to add it now or it's too late? on the myt app there's only 1 service available tells me if the doors/windows left open that's it.

If you click on "GR Yaris" you can see which services are available on your car. For comparison click on "Yaris" and see the different list of services that are available. The "Remote Climate Control (Basic)" service is listed for the Yaris ... but unfortunately not listed for the GR Yaris. So sorry for the bad news but it looks like this feature isn't available on your car ☹️ You have mentioned that you are using the MyT app. It is VERY confusing but there are two apps on Google Play Store (1) "MyT" and (2) "MyToyota". I think Toyota cars sold in the UK use the "MyToyota" app ... but I am not certain about this!! I assume that since you mentioned "73 plate" you live in the UK ... it may be worth checking that you are using "MyToyota" and not "MyT". When I first started doing videos about my Yaris and the associated app I assumed that there was one app globally for ALL Toyota makes and models. I was happily using the "MyT" app when I got a notification on my phone saying I must change to the new "MyToyota" app. Initially I assumed that this was a global change to a new app. However, from comments on my videos I realised that there are multiple apps for different countries and regions and also for different models in the Toyota range. I also suspect that the multimedia system fitted in your car may also affect the app. The only thing I know for certain is that my UK spec 2022 Yaris with the optional Tech Pack which includes the Smart Connect multimedia system uses the MyToyota app. Its just so complicated that I would not even like to speculate which app you should be using. I have also learnt that the features that are available in the app will vary by the car, the year it was manufactured & the country. Toyota appear to be building additional functionality into the app all the time but the app will also require the car to have the associated equipment to support the functionality. From what I have seen the app will hide functionality that is not available in your car and it will only show you the functionality that works with your specific car. So if the app shows you "Remote Start" then remote start is available ... but if it is not showing you Remote Start then I am afraid that your car almost certainly does not have the equipment to support remote start.

I think availability of this feature varies by model and by country. The only think I know for sure is that it works on my Yaris 2022 UK specification. If the feature is available in MyT then the feature should work with your Corolla.
I guess that its not available on your car otherwise the app would show the feature. However, I am a bit surprised that it's not available on a 2021 Excel model.
I have never tried to use it to cool down the car ... but I think that if you leave the aircon switched on when you switch the car off then if you Remote Start the car with the app then the aircon will come on and cool the car down to the selected temperature. At a really basic level all the app is doing is turning the car on with the climate control set to whatever the settings were when you last switched the car off ... so if you had the aircon on then I think the aircon should come on with Remote Start. I am bit busy the next few days but I will give it a try later this week or maybe the weekend and leave a comment to let you know what happens. I believe that some newer Toyota's have got a more advanced remote start functionality in the app which allows the app to set the climate control's temperature setting. I do not know whether the app can switch the aircon on or off.
Yesterday when I parked the car I left the aircon switched on and I turned the temperature down to 18C. The following morning I started the car using the app's Start Climate button. The car started with the aircon switched on and the temperature set to 18C. I let the car run for 10minutes. When I got in the car it was nicely chilled. So the answer is yes ... the app can be used to cool the car down in summer ... and heat up the car and clear the windscreen in winter. 👍

I suspect that you don't have a timer to set because you are using the MyToyota app. The video was produced using a different app called MyT. They are two similar but different apps!!! A bit of history and background on the app .... I suspect that I will find that this is another (minor) difference between the MyT app and the MyToyota app. To be honest I don't think the loss of the timer settings greater than 10minutes are an issue. As the video shows at -4C a 10minute remote start is long enough to clear the windscreen. So, at least for the UK climate, 10minutes will almost always be enough time to defrost the windscreen and warm up the car.
@@Helpful-Stuff Hi I did have the old app on my other car . When I got this one it forced me to update the app. My old car was the design model so I never had the option to start the car up. As you say 10 minutes is enough so all good , just wondering why they had removed the timer options. Great little cars . Thanks for your help.
I agree the Yaris is a great car ... I used to have a 2018 Yaris which had good fuel economy but my 2022 Yaris is even better - my fuel costs have dropped noticeably 😁 And all the in-car tech that comes with the Excel is fantastic. The app is a bit quirky and could be improved but it does the job. I remote started the climate control on my car this morning and it is the new MyToyota app that removes the options for longer warm ups than 10minutes. I am not going to remake the video because I think it is a minor change and as we have both said 10minutes warms the car up from -4C so longer warm up periods aren't really required. Yep no need to re do the video and now it's here to read anyway. I have the new 23 excel with the larger screen . All works great but have noticed the camera warnings are not audio when I know they should be . Other than this all good so far and I dont speed anyways 😅
I think I have got the same screen as you but I had to pay extra for it !!! I really wanted a heads up display so I bought the Tech Pack. Another benefit of the Tech pack was that it also included the 9" "Smart Connect" multimedia screen. Shortly after I ordered my car Toyota decided to withdraw the Tech Pack. The heads up display is fantastic ... I don't know how I managed when I had to look down at the dashboard and away from the road. I think it is a real pity that Toyota have decided to not offer the HUD either as standard or extra equipment. Another benefit of the Tech pack is wireless Android Auto which wasn't standard in 2022. This means I nearly always use Google Maps. I have used the in-car navigation just to check it out and I am pretty sure I remember a setting somewhere to turn the audio warnings on for different things including speed cameras. I will check tomorrow and let you know if I find the setting.

It says "Features shown from Excel Grade" ... which is great if you are getting an Excel but if you aren't I am not sure how you see if it is available for the grade that you are getting.
Just had another thought ... I am not sure what country you are in. The link I sent you is for Toyota UK so it gives the spec of cars sold in the UK. I think the spec of the Yaris Cross will vary by country ... so if you aren't in the UK then you will need to check the Toyota website for your country.
