Howdy everyone,
This officially kicks off the Precision Rifle Reloading Series (PRRS) so I decided to have a little fun with it and do something new to the channel.
The interview on this episode is with a good buddy who's no stranger to precision. Wyatt is a top ranked NRL22 shooter and a top ranked Precision Rimfire Outlaw Series shooter as well. A little over a year ago, Wyatt decided to try his had at the centerfire competition world. After his first few matches using factory Hornady ammunition, Wyatt made the decision to get into reloading.
His perspective and experience with getting involved with this aspect of shooting was interesting to me, especially since it has been so long since I first got into all of this stuff. Hopefully this answers some of the questions you guys who are looking to get into reloading, may have.
One of the biggest takeaways, find someone who is knowledgeable about the process who you trust, and is willing to share the knowledge with you. this is a potentially dangerous game so having accurate, trustworthy information is paramount.
THANKS FOR WATCHING!!!!!!!

Expectations; At the very least it needs to be a better result than factory ammo to justify the investment.

Love that you guys are talking through some newer equipment! Looking forward to this series!
@triggeredprecisionmachinellc
There is a constant stream of new stuff always coming out, it gets tough to keep up with. Luckily I have a pretty decent network of people who are willing to share the new gear for reviews as they get it.

Great video, Wyatt was definitely the perfect guest to start the series. I’m running a Lyman All American 8 press. I invest more in my competitive match dies then I do in my hunting caliber dies. Keep up the good and honest videos! Great quality content

Thank you!

Love my Area 419 Zero press. Also like Short Action Customs & 21st Century products. Hoping to get my hands of some Cortina Precision dies eventually.
@triggeredprecisionmachinellc
I've never used any 21st Century reloading stuff but I did have my eye on SAC's seating die. That thing is sweet.

@@triggeredprecisionmachinellc I use their hand priming tool, and expander mandrels. I really like their priming tool. I’ve been wanting more SAC stuff, I only have bushings so far. I really need to hit the lottery🤣
@triggeredprecisionmachinellc
No joke there, that stuff is expensive but holy cow... its like jewelry.

Aside from the 419 9 hole I want a simple 2 post prazi press with triebel dies.if I ever hit the lottery…same scales you got with auto trickler and few miscellaneous tools to refine my loads…you could use my bench as the most basic there is presentation lol…4 hole lee with beams and I trickle with a medicine spoon and chainsaw file to flick single kernels if needed…got nothin but time. I can keep es n 20 range on good days…scales limit that..can’t wait for my cards man…should be here soon….✌🏻
@triggeredprecisionmachinellc
Your cards and some other stuff should be showing up real soon All the fancy reloading tools are is a luxury - you prove you can load consistent ammo with basic tools and attention to detail.

Looking forward to the brass prep parts. I still dont own an annealer and always wondered how important it is.

Important.... if you want ANY brass life in gas guns

@@TexasTerpz27 I don't care about brass with gas guns. I shoot bulk ammo through my semis. Don't know if I'll ever reload for semi. I get excellent deals on bulk ammo. Sometimes free.
@triggeredprecisionmachinellc
I've reached out to a couple folks to see if I could send them some brass samples for hardness testing to be done at various stages - virgin brass, once fired, twice fired, fresh annealed. etc.

@@triggeredprecisionmachinellc For some reason, the big magnums are easy to load for me. With 300 win mag and 300 NM just about anything I throw gets me 20 ES and under with 10 shots. Today even H50bmg game me an ES of 6, but was only 2700fps. I just recently, finally learned to load for 6.5C, it likes to be pushed at around 2820fps 2850fps for both the 140s and 144gr and been consistently getting ES of 17 with 15 and 20 shots. No pressure signs of any kind. I've found this to be true with R16, H4350 and 4831SC. It's why I wonder about annealing. If everything else is good in the process and you get at least 10 reloads from brass (20 with the magnums), will annealing do anything extra? I've read that it will help SD and ES, but don't know.
