Im really hoping they are gonna be a decent option to the over priced ARB, i was messaging back and forth with john yan of TRE, and told him they need great warrantee and customer service for these to become popular, he assured me that is their goal. I've had mine installed in the front of my 89 Sidekick with 5.38 gears, stock 1.6 8 valve motor running 32s mounted in a Calsucky Anvil steel housing. I haven't used it alot but I love it so far. I'm an admin on a lot of Geo tracker and Sidekick groups. None of the members have had any issues that I know of. There were quality control issues when they 1st started but they have addressed those issues appropriately. I actually wrote the script on their website because of their Engrish being so bad LOL.

I’m using it , it’s not bad . TRE is good . For the price I wouldn’t complain. Surprisingly it’s alittle stronger than other brand . In Malaysia this locker are used in competition category like in Rain forest challenge , and borneo safari. For me they pass the toughest test .

Hey man any update on how the TRE 4x4 locker install and performance? Was looking at these since I can't stomach the $$$ ARB is asking for a locker and compressor.

I will be installing it in the next week or so, gotta get a few things to finish the hybrid axle this weekend, then the gears and locker go in. Thanks for your patients, its coming.

After watching I checked the tre website and noticed they now have an e locker te208 for the suzuki. I ordered it and will install soon(using you vids for a guide. Have the fsm as well). I know the e lockers have a bit of slop before engaging especially from forward to reverse. Im OK with that. Is there any reason you opted for the air instead.

I dont think they had e-lockers when i got mine, but since i was planning on having onboard air for airing up tires, the air locker seems a logical choice. Let me know how those e-lockers work for you! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Pretty soon man, i just got the shaft and pucks to make sure the axle is straight, then ill be finishing the axle and installing to locker and gears. Hang in there, its coming. Thanks for watching fabbin adventures!

The locker still works fine, im not hard on my stuff but i know a guy who is and his locker is still working great!

Yep, locker is in the hybrid diff and installed in the zuk, got a couple wheeling trips on it already. Seems to be working great! Go to my channel page and watch some of the newer vids, you will see it in use! Thanks for watching!

The Tema4x4 lsd's on ebay look interesting...made in Russia. For my purposes an lsd makes the most sense. Very rarely will I be using it for serious rock-crawling where the full lockers would have an advantage. The lsd's would give you advantages if you were driving through a winter storm without the complexity of the air lockers or the disadvantages of the lunch-box lockers. I've sent an email to Tema4x4 to see if it's a Torsen lsd or a traditional clutch style lsd. They say it requires regular gear lube with no friction modifiers so I'm thinking it's Torsen. The Torsen design seems like a better design than the clutch pack lsd's. I'm going to put in chrome-moly 26 spline front axles, so I need to verify the rear lsd can be used on the front also. Maybe you could work a deal to review the Tema4x4 lsd's. I'd sure be interested.

Yep, well i dont know about "through the ringer" but ive got to try it out some on a couple wheeling trips and works flawlessly. More testing and time will tell though. Watch my video " cold water rescue" and see it in action. Thanks for watching!

Yes like i said in the video, it will come down to materials used and heat treatment for the longevity and toughness of the locker. I will be putting some time in on it before i decide to get another. Thanks for your comment!

Sofar so good, no complaints. Buddy of mine runs them front and back on 35s, and he is way harder on his stuff than i am. He loves them sofar All ive seen them run in are suzukis sofar. Thanks for your comment.

Zero troubles, buddy of mine has then front and back for a few years now and wheels hard alot and has not had any trouble.

Instead of a compressor a PCP system with a scuba bottle and regulator would be a maintenance free option

Sure run a compressor but turn your bullbar, rear wheel carrier or rock sliders into a tank.

I havent put it in thr zuk yet. Ill be putting the hybrid diff in after hunting season (end of this month) Cant afford to have it down, while i install it.

Haven’t watched your videos in a while, so forgive me for my ignorance here, but what is a hybrid diff? Are the lockers going in a stock samurai axle? I have a set of front and rears, 26 spline, for my samurai. Also Chinese, Identical packaging, just different brand name. They were super cheap and quality looks great. I’m looking forward to a step by step install video!

Welcome back Luis! A hybrid diff is a center section from a tracker or sidekick (which has a bigger ring and pinion) welded to samurai axle tubes. The advantage is when you go from the stock 3.73 to say 4.56 or 5.13 samurai gears they get progressivly weaker. But by installing the tracker larger ring and pinion you dont lose strength, you gain it. Unfortunately still on stock sammy axles, so i will be moving to chromolies. Trail tough sells these diffs, but i'm gonna build my own! Thanks for coming back!, stick around im putting out weekly videos, head to my channel and check out all the new content!
