I never saw the gentlemen have so much fun with a word before: Tempura! It's very interesting how they often mention a food would be good to eat when it's raining, or when it's hot or cold, or by a river. It's a curious thing too.

Rana making the pieces of Tempura hug each other has just made me laugh so much, a good Tempura batter is a thing of joy. Happy New Year to all channel fans.

It's so oddly beautiful that they associate the food with what type of weather you should eat it in. And they talk about it warming you up etc. I love the way they think and express their thoughts with us.

These Tempura pieces look different from the Tempura I know. And I do know that Vegtable Tempura exists, too. Tempura looks kinda look like the crusts of some fried chicken. Lightly, flaky and crispy in appearance. The Tempura, they eating, looks like breaded chicken or chicken nuggets.

Tempura (peixinhos da horta or tempora) was created in Portugal Sailors Take it to Japan And they call it tempura. With squid tentacles and jalapeño mayonnaise is delicious. 30 years 🍣 sushi Chef.

I never heard of chicken tempura, just shrimp and veggies. Sweet potato and green bean tempura is the BEST.

It's refreshing to hear these gentlemen pronounce 'Tempura' correctly! I just wish the chefs preparing the food would have made proper Japanese Tempura, with veggies and things like sweet potato and such.

Here in U.K 🇬🇧 these are called chicken balls and we get from Chinese takeaway with sweet and sour sauce. Try tempura king prawns 🍤 they are delicious too.

Tribal people try - sorry but Chicken tempura does not exist in Japan. only Tempura Vegatable , Shrimps , or fried Tempura batter only exists in Japan . Japan also deep fries Chicken wings , and makes Fired Chicken bites called KARAGE .

Tribal people try - Tempura is made with eggs & Special PANKO flour , not graham flour . the PANKO is made from Special super soft White bread , called SHOKUPAN .

The breading for tempura is very distinct and the dipping sauce is sort of soy sauce based. This looks more like chicken fingers with ketchup. I hope I’m wrong. I would like them to have the proper experience of tempura. To your credit, you did not feed Mr Chaudry shrimp 😁

I've only eaten vegetable tempura. What is the dipping sauce?---Uff da, Bruce Lee is Chinese, not Japanese.---The comment about the chicken all cut the same size reminded me of that scene in Yentl where she asks her hostess how she got all the cookies to come out the same size!

I still think you should have a map of the world behind them in the wall so they can point out where the food is from. They will learn and also stop calling all foods Western.

Tempura is an interesting word. It stems from the Portuguese who managed to establish a trading relationship with the insular Japanese. "Tempura" is related to 'temperature' (essentially 'frying') and is a European word adopted by the Japanese). There are a few Portuguese loan words into Japanese (and Chinese), notably from 'bread' (pão which turned into bāo in Chinese - and pan (think panko) in Japanese). And, of course, Portuguese and Urdu (in Pakistan) are related languages being part of the Indo-European group of languages.

Never have had chicken tempura. Vegetable tempura is one my favorite Japanese dishes. You should show them videos of Tokyo with the "alleyways" of stores, restaurants, and markets. There many such videos on RU-vid.

Tempura is excellent because of the cooking temperature. The pieces are same because the Japanese people are very proud of their quality kitchen knife skills. Yes, you do need tea.

It looks like regular breaded chicken (nuggets, tenders, etc.), not tempura. The tempura I know puffs up into crispy, unrecognizable pieces when deep fried and it’s a whole different experience.

I'd call those chicken nuggets. Vegetables, shrimp, or other seafood is more common. Tempura sauce is equal parts mirin and soy sauce and diluted with water. Not sure what that red sauce is.

Tempura refers to the specific batter used to coat something like meat or vegetables before then frying it to make it slightly crispy, but also a little soft. Tempura is pretty goof batter for frying things. But you can use other batters like "beer batter" and some other things like whatever you'd use to make KFC's fried chicken, etc.Tempura is just a kind of soft, smooth batter, as opposed to some of the chunkier or crispier ones.
