Went for a ride out, I noticed when the oil was hot the pressure worry light was on and no oil was returning to the tank unless I revved the engine over 1200 RPM.
I suspect the OPRV was sticking slightly and when hot the thinner oil can bypass it more easily.
The piston was just within tolerance so I have stripped and cleaned it, given the piston a polish. If this doesn't work then I'll probably end up just replacing the OPRV as it's cheaper than an engine rebuild...
This is a common Triumph Meriden design and is found on most old unit and pre-unit bikes.
You will need a 15/16" socket for the domed nut and a slimmed down 1" socket for the main body, a box spanner would work just as well.
