Another CUSTOM BUILD I am so happy to share with you. This time is 1961 TRIUMPH THUNDERBIRD CHOPPER.

@@richardsracingmad As stated near the beginning of the video, it's a 1961 6T "Thunderbird" twin cylinder, the T160V was the last version of the "Trident" three cylinder machine which was only built in 1975 before Norton Villiers Triumph (NVT) went out of business.

The amount of kicks it takes to start a Triumph depends on the amount of people watching. I could start my Triumph at home with 1 or 2 kicks but if I was at a shopping mall forget it lol

These bikes are reliable and should be a one or two kicker when properly set up and maintained. Sometimes they are hard to restart when hot. Definately not an "old man's bike."

I had a chopped BSA in 1970-71. Front end was raked out a bit further than this, very tall ape hanger handlebars, highway pegs, burnt orange in color, and about a 3.5 inch tall sissy bar made of twisted chrome metal with a devils tall off the top. Never got use to the handlebars. Loved getting in the wind with it. - -- - Keep yours between the ditches, the rubber side down, and the wind in your face.

How do they know when people are watching? My old '69 Triumph chopper always waited for an audience to act up. When a beautiful old bike like that bike kicks over though, you instantly remember why you put up with her :-)

Lovely looking, the front forks are a good touch, My recommendation would be the jet in the carb is too big, solve that and it should start easier

This is a clean bike -- a great retro ride. Someone needs to build something like that bike, only with an air-cooled 865cc Hinckley Triumph. Just a thought.

Those old Triumphs are never reliable lol I had a 78 Bonnie T140 always riding and wrenching haha I remember kicking it over and over like this gentleman in 100 degree heat , not fun 🤩 I could never get the twin carbs adjusted perfect either . I now have a 2020 T120 ace edition , love it ! Totally reliable 😀 and fun fun fun to ride 👍 great Vid !

Those bikes actually should start pretty easily. 1 or 2 kicks and it should start. If it's that hard to start, something's wrong.

Agree. I had a friend that had a 350 twin and that was a 1 or 2 kick machine - if not, as you say, their is a problem.

@@stanleyknife1967 yea, I rode a 1950's T110 for years, plus several "newer" (1960s Triumphs). Whenever mine didn't start, it was always b/c of the spark. :/ But when they're running right, they fire right up.
