I bought the 675r after passing my test at 48 year old and it was the best decision I ever made. Before this I rode a KTM Duke 125 and thought it would be a to bigger jump but it felt right from day one and just keeps getting better and better.

Nice Vid as always. Cool to see your first thoughts on the bigger Triumph. Do you think you will be getting a street triple now, or will you still test a few more bikes before you make a decision?

DoubleAyyRon thanks for the kind words mate. I'll post up the Daytona video shortly - that's my last test ride. I've made a decision on (and bought) my next bike - will talk about it in the next video :)

Hi! Really liking your review and hope you have already choose this one as your next bike. I’m a new rider and I have just finished my MSF course in Bulgaria on Yamaha Fazer FZ6. Presently I’m on the market for my first motorcycle and I’m in love with Triumph STR 675(in Europe we have only full version and not 660) the generation after 2013. I really like the STR but do you think I will be OK as my first bike. Yamaha Fazer FZ6 is with aprox 90 HP and less torque but I have no problems with the bike during the MSF(that includes and some hours in city riding). So how do you think….shall I go towards the STR as s first bike or something smaller like R3, Ninja 300, Honda cbr 500r or Yamaha MT 07 etc. As you have already experience with most of the machines (saw all of your videos) I’m looking for your honest opinion. Forgot to mention that I’m 33 years old and more calm car driver than 10 years ago  Thanks in advance to share your opinion and waiting for more videos from you!

It's a tough one! The Street Triple is very easy to ride and is very refined so i'm sure you could handle it ok, but I think part of the fun is learning on a smaller bike and having the bigger bike to look forward to. If you got an MT07 for example you'd have a lot of fun with that, then a Street Triple would be a very natural transition for you. Just my opinion - let me know what you decide!

Australians use feet and inches? I thought they got rid of the freedom units a long time ago.

Currently riding Fz6 S2 and looking at Triumph's range of triplets. Was thinking of getting the RS but would burn a huge pocket hole in my wallet. So looking at 675r for commuting, tracking and weekend twisties. I'm new to triumph and rode quite a range of Yammie and Honda bikes from 150cc to 1000cc over the years. Would you recommend?

I keep coming back to these street triples. Looking to get my first bike. Not a kid anymore. Any thoughts on this as a first bike for a 40 year old? No restrictions here in the US.

In my opinion, you could totally ride this as a first bike - you'd be a lucky guy to have this as your first bike! The reason I say it'd be ok as a first bike is because even though it's quite powerful, it's smooth and predictable. It won't wheelie unexpectedly and scare you or anything, but don't get me wrong, it's fast! So long as you're chilled with the throttle and work your way into it, I think it'd be fine. And damn you'll have some fun on it... Let me know how you go!

I'm 42 and owned a CB650F before. The Triumph is better in every way. You'd have absolutely no problem riding one of these bikes. Miles of smiles, bro. Pull that trigger and thank yourself later for doing it.
