@@OTRBandit Fall is absolutely beautiful and the weather is perfect. My favorite time of year. The leaves start changing first in late September in the higher elevations around 6000ft and as the season goes on the leaves start changing down into the lower elevations until around the end of October beginning of November 🍁🍁
@@heathmccrackenYou can either pay for trucking school yourself and than go get a job with a company that will train you or you can go to one of these big companies and they will pay for your license and training but you would have to work for them until you pay that license off. Pretty much any big company will be able to do this for you.
Wooooo, yea Buddy, thanx for the shotgun view thru the gorge !! Would love to live off grid up in those mountains, surrounded by nature.. Buddy I appreciate you, your story telling of back in the day, having fun, kicking ass.. Yea maybe when its time to retire, start your business making those custom floors like in your Big Blue, looking forward to the next ride, stay safe, keep R between the mayo & mustard.. Brrtttttttt...
@@OTRBandit you're very welcome my friend tomorrow afternoon I go in for my post op appt 445 pm my time I'll definitely keep u updated have a good day my friend drive safe
A great video. The last time I stopped at that scale it was night time almost every truck was going by. The scale at the end of the video. That scale house worker came out and looked at my front tires weight ratings. And each tire was rated at six thousand pounds. I had to get two new tires from the loves just over the other side of the hill. I had to get tires rated at seven thousand pounds each. I couldn't move any additional weight off of the steer axle. I was under gross by three thousand pounds. I had weighed the truck after getting loaded. If you ever have over twelve thousand on the front axle the tires must be rated at over six thousand pounds each. I had two tanks of diesel and that made the front axle heavy with the freight.
I ran into that in Washington state. Promised to get the 7,000 pound rated and never did. I always kept my fifth wheel set to stay at 13,000 pounds when loaded. It’s easier to burn fuel than to cut a load. Or even get it reloaded heavier to the trailer.
Always checking your channel for new video's. Why you only have the subscribers you have is beyond me. I subscribe to alot, but none as good as yours. Schmidt is good to. Your the real deal my friend. I see 100,000 b4 years end. 10-4
@@OTRBandit as you know, I’m a stanch Christian. But I served in the Navy and in the trucking industry. I don’t curse, but hold no ill regard for someone that does.
I’ve been on one very steep grade in Pennsylvania, but I cannot remember what percentage it was. The highest percentage I can remember was 11% in PA. 25% is crazy. They need to reroute the road somewhere where it’s a lot safer.
Walmart does charge if your early BUT, they will take you an hour early with no penalties in all the ones I have visited, there is also one good thing about Walmart too, they run a 12/12 (noon to midnight-midnight to noon) if you should be running late they have a decent grace period. I can never seem to grasp the concept of temporary pavement and why they can not lay it down in such a manner that it will not throw the steers left and right or try to shift and twist the vehicle, maybe it’s what my father taught me “if you do something, do it right or don’t bother doing it at all” 40 through there is spectacular visually speaking, one of the worst to me is 68 through WVA, PA, MD, especially when your at gross, you lose so much freaking time but it too has some pretty steep ascends and descends. Safe travels bro !!
I’ve done 68 few times but only when I’m under 20K. If I’m over that I’ll take the turnpike though PA and back down to Baltimore. I also hate 77 through WV. You’re right, Walmart will let you come in one hour early. But sometimes you can call them ahead and reschedule without penalty. I’ve done that in Saint James, MO and somewhere in western Texas.
@@OTRBandit yeah been trucking 4 years and would love to buy a truck and do it on my own but you know as well as me is now is prolly not the time to do so
@@GonGet812This is actually the best time to buy a truck. Prices on used trucks have never been lower. I know loads don’t pay that good right now but I would still go ahead and buy a truck if you ever plan on buying one. I don’t think they will ever be as cheap as they are now.
Wednesday morning here bro. Tornado action last night close by us, the sirens were blaring. Scary shit dude! I'm sipping my cup of Joe ridin along with ya! I hope you get a little break with the family for Memorial Day Weekend, chillin & grillin! Peace brother, always look forward to your journey!
Dang brother, I’m sorry to hear that. Hopefully everything is ok. I’ve seen that storm moving east from Iowa and Missouri. I was in it yesterday south of Kansas City. Ran into some hail and had to pull over for a minute. Hopefully these storms will go away soon. Seems like we have a tornado scare at least once a week.
There is a channel called 12V Diaries, a Canadian trucker channel on you tube. There is a video on there called 140,000lbs Super B takes on the steepest hwy descent in the Canadian Rockies. Anywhere from 11% grade to 6-8% grade , in winter with snow on grounded, plowed hwy , posted May 11
Been around this industry since the mid 60's. Gotta be careful about what I put in the comments.. Love your channel, enjoy riding with you, Don't subscribe to much at all but subscribe to yours. I get where you're at brother, just be careful about what you post.. It's all about how we have to do it to make money until they have a reason to snoop Looking for money. They look everywhere When they smell money.. Talking from experience. Best of luck to you, look forward to future videos. Enjoy that retirement when you get there
@@OTRBandit your very welcome we r and we're being safe and careful my brother please drive safe and careful and watch out 4 those revenue collectors lol be safe my friend love u man because I really do except u as one of my family members
Walmart charges for some reason. I think it’s because it’s inconvenient for them or something like that. A lot of places did not care whenever I pulled the dry van. But unfortunately, reefer is all appointments hundred percent of time.
@@OTRBandit being out of Idaho, I pretty much have to do reefer. Not that reefer. I would love to do dryvan, but rates are less and most spuds out of Idaho are reefer, not that kind. So I’ve always played the reefer (not that kind. Well yes I did as a young man) and so I pull a reefer and play their games.
Walmart charging 150 for being early? Fuck that! Should only charge for being extremely late. All the sausage parties on the roads are not for me! Pass those right up.
I use to wash out many trailers for different companies all over the country. They use to call me at 3am to meet a driver someplace and wash out the truck. I would meet their drivers and bring them a cup of coffee and the clean it out and i got paid $ 20.00 for doing it, because i knew how drivers worked hard for their money, being a former driver myself.
