EDIT: Correction for #3; the driver of the SUV was called EMMA. Not sure why I said Megan! This channel started from a random idea in the shower: 'Tragedy Tales.' Bingo! I thought. I rushed out, created the channel, logo, and banner, and here we are today. I didn't think it would go anywhere, let alone to 300,000 subscribers. I am so very grateful. Who knows when this rollercoaster is going to end, but I want to thank each and every one of you for being here and supporting me. Here's to the next milestone, TT

The fact that Spanish Lakes told their residents to walk their animals by the water boggles my mind. I lived in Florida for 22 years, in that area. Passed Spanish Lakes often enough. It's pretty well known by most FL residents that gators *will* come after your pets, even larger dogs (but especially the little ones). I'm truly baffled about that advisement.
@shydog7276
@shydog7276 3 месяца назад
I had to play that back tbh, I wanted to believe I hadn't heard that right. Like, the poor woman shouldn't have been right on the edge of the water like that but there also wasn't a whole lot of walking space to begin with. I'm a transplant and was basically told any body of water I couldn't jump over and/or see the bottom of should just be assumed to have gators in it. Absolutely insane the property management would have their elderly residents essentially forced near the water if they want to be outside.
@dormantlime215
@dormantlime215 2 месяца назад

The airport should feel terrible. The treat customers anyway they want. I've only flown twice and my husband about 4x. Our luggage was lost twice. The process to try to get it back was literally impossible. There went at least $500-1000. Another time my husband was flying to start orientation for a job. The company for the job was of course, like all corporations, greedy so they were flying him in last minute (to Denver ironically) so the plane had some delay (it was not weather) and my husband had to stay overnight until he could board the next day and missed a day of orientation which the job seemed to be blaming us somehow. We were upset as I'm sure a lot of ppl who save all year for a vacationwould be upset, but I can't imagine if I were trying to see a loved one who was dying. Airports are run piss poorly and they wonder why passengers are snapping and the crew is treated like shit by management and passengers. I'm honestly surprised we don't have more ppl losing it at the airport and more underpaid, overworked pilots snapping. The flight companies really need to get their shit together. Most people I know don't fly often. When we do, it is for something important like a job or something that has been planned and saved for for months if not years.

The driver was put in a dilemma. The narrator said they were calling to discuss the next leg of the trip, so he may have taken the call because he thought the train company was going to give him updates about problems further down the track. He can't NOT take the call if it could be a warning of dangers ahead. We don't know if he was experienced on this track and knew about the dangerous curve ahead; nor that the safety systems were disabled. If he he didn't know this stuff, I would hold him totally blameless - if he did, he is partly culpable. But I think that the train company is 100% responsible for creating the dangers.

I think people are missing the mark on the alligator story. The issue shouldn't be the fact that the retirement home is by the water, but the fact that the owners threatened the residence with eviction if they walked their dogs by the the street. Instead telling the residents to walk their dogs by the water.

That first story is so unbelievably tragic. I'm so glad you told some of the details from his background, instead of just telling the 'breaking out onto the tarmac and climbing on a wing' part. Because this gives so much more perspective to this poor guy and what he was fighting with inside himself. As far as the emergency exit, it may have actually been a maintenance exit/entrance and an alarm probably sounded. And the engines weren't 'immediately shut down' because 1. It takes time to radio the message of someone on the tarmac 2. You have sh*t vantage point in a cockpit 3. There is a checklist that's mandatory to complete before engine shut-down, it's literally called the 'engine shut-down checklist'. Unless you just want to pull the engine-fire extinguisher handle which would cripple the plane. I don't have any answer or guess as to why there were no airport employees, gate agents or security guards inside, there should have been many. My guess is that they got lazy at the end of the day and decided 'screw it I'm off-duty now' and left. If this had happened at a busy time there would have been security and airport police everywhere.

I grew up in Florida, and worked for Gatorland, Orl. I've seen gators and crocs all my life. Crocodilians are not unpredictable. If you don't give them distance and the respect they deserve, you will get bit, or even worse, eaten. It might seem cold, but it's hard to have pity for her. They approached an apex predator in his territory, and surrounded him. To be honest, I'm VERY surprised it took it that long to react. Speaks volumes of that particular croc's nature. That last woman coming in went straight for the worst area for an attack. I hope the croc wasn't killed. Poor thing just minding it's business.

The crocodile incident 34:28 actually occurred at a crocodile pond in Ave-Dakpa in the Volta Region of Ghana. The video gained massive traction on social media especially here in Kenya. The usual practice is that the tourist guide feeds the crocodile first with a fowl before tourists get closer, and they do so from behind and not from the sides. But in this instance, the tour guide reportedly failed to feed the crocodile before allowing the people to start posing alongside the reptile. Although the crocodile initially remained calm as the tourists took turns taking photos with it, it suddenly attacked a woman who touched it from the side. The tourists and the guards ran for their lives as the reptile attacked the woman. Fortunately, it has been clarified that the female tourist who was attacked by the crocodile at Ave Dakpa in the Akatsi North District of the Volta Region sustained a minor injury and was doing well.

@mommy2libras
@mommy2libras 4 месяца назад
They are. However that is only the second time I've ever heard of that happening- twice out of the hundreds of thousands of hockey games that have been played over the years. And I'm not sure why they're so focused on the neck, which is nowhere near the skate in all but the most unlikely of scenarios. Those blades can just as easily cut you anywhere else and while you may not bleed out as fast, it seems a lot more likely that someone might have their arm run over when they fall that their neck coming into contact with the blade. But you cannot simply encase the entire player in a protective cover - which still won't ensure that nothing happens. I believe that if the player chooses to wear the guard then they should do that. But making it mandatory due to two or three freak accidents over several decades is kind of ridiculous. You can never protect them or any other person against all possible incidents. It's just not possible. Unless you make them stop altogether. That's the only way to ensure that no one will ever be hurt or die from playing hockey again. Not to mention that the neck guards don't even cover the whole area, making it still possible for this to occur on the very off chance that someone gets flipped up and hits their skate right on someone's neck again.

One reason Kyle wasn't dead yet was that the engine had actually been turned off moments before he crawled up into it. The blades were still spinning, unfortunately, so a good deal of his body was able to make it in before they stopped completely. If the engine had still been running, there wouldn't have been anything left of him, as proven by similar incidents -- with some being fully caught on camera -- where people have been absolutely obliterated by a powered-up and actively running turbine. Honestly, it would have been "better" for Kyle had they still been fully running because he wouldn't have suffered any. The fact that they were spinning slowly from the power-down meant they were able to be stopped once he became lodged inside of the engine and therefore he was more than likely still conscious and in pain as he bled out.

You can see the croc opening its mouth, ready to attack. With that many people there, somebody should have pointed it out and stopped them. Wild animals aren’t as wild as we think, the croc was just protecting himself, and it isn’t his fault humans disturbed, what was supposed to be, his vacation on land. The attack from Henry the gator is honestly just very unlucky. Reptiles are very instinctual animals, almost like they have pre-programmed reactions to certain stimuli. The gator was initially going for the dog but what likely happened is her leg/ankle moved close enough to his mouth that he snapped at the closer moving object. Once her leg was in his mouth the kill and eat instinct was activated that was it. (I won't go into detail but only a physically fit adult might have a chance of surviving.)Many reptiles will attempt to eat things they normally never would or should if their food response instinct is activated. A gator of Henry's size would never hunt humans, but circumstances created a scenario where this poor woman was killed.
@mommy2libras
@mommy2libras 4 месяца назад
Yes and in Florida, any resident definitely knows that water = gators. Even a good sized puddle should be avoided because they lay still under turkey water- it only has to be deep enough to cover them and 12-18 inches is plenty to hide a gator. This is why you don't walk along any fresh water source while walking your dog, which are the perfect size for gators to go after. They hide in shallow water and jump out to grab whatever is near, often wild pigs or raccoons or dogs or even deer coming to drink. Birds, etc. And I thought the "having them live so close to where people live should be a non no" was hilarious. It's not like we have a choice- if there's water, gators will move in, even if there's a fence. They pull at the bottom to get under or even climb the fence. They can remove the gators all they want and relocate them but all that means is that others will move in. It's like saying "you shouldn't have sharks in the parts of the ocean where people go to the beach".

As someone who suffers from Bipolar 1, my heart breaks for him.... If it hadn't been for my family around me when my grandfather passed, I would have gone off the deep end, and I as well have a service dog. She's a beautiful pit bull named Raja, and I can't imagine losing her on top of losing my grandfather, especially so close together like it was for him.... Why didn't the airport staff recognize this as a mental health crisis, you ask?? Because sadly those of us with Bipolar, especially Bipolar 1, are just looked at as crazy. No one tries to understand anymore. They just judge, which is why I stay in my home around my family.... I just don't trust the outside world these days! R.I.P Kyla and Quick Silver!💔

I’m from Sheffield and someone I know witnessed what happened to Adam. They said it was traumatising to witness especially for the kids that were there too. And Adam’s teammates created a circle around him to make some sort of protective barrier to give him some privacy while the stadium was being cleared. I personally think Matt deserves to be convicted of manslaughter because he raised his leg knowing that there was a blade at the end of it, so he must have intended to at least injury Adam.

I own a home in Florida. First rule is to never walk a dog near a body of water. Dogs are an enticing meal to a gator and the old women was just in the way. Also, Gators are a protected species in Florida. I rarely see them when I'm down at the house. When you do see them in the open, they are generally walking from one body of water to another. They will occasionally go out in the open to sun themselves and warm up.

That first one hit me hard. I don’t have bipolar but I do have some mental health issues and at one point I had an emotional support cat named Nugget, she was a tortoiseshell kitten who was taken away from her mother at a young age so she had some attachment issues, she never wanted to be alone. However after only a year in 2021 she and her half-sister, Sock passed away from a deadly apartment fire my family had. When they both died I would go to sleep thinking it was a nightmare but then I’d wake up the next day without them bothering me to feed them. If my grandpa was severely ill at that time, I’d also want to at least say goodbye to him and missing my flight would definitely push me over the edge. I just wish that his actions could’ve been stopped. RIP to him and his dog. I hope this man is happy in the afterlife with his dog and possibly his grandpa.

I don’t think the issue is whether Gloria knew there were alligators there, or not. I believe the issue is the rule that limited Gloria to only being able to walk her dog next to an alligator infested lake. They are absolutely culpable and responsible for her death.

@TheKgr320 4 месяца назад
This. It's Florida, you need to assume that ANY body of water bigger than a puddle has an alligator in it. And people knew this alligator was there, and even the residents were feeding it, not just the maintenance workers. The no walking your dog in the street rule is just INSANE. There's plenty of grassy area. Everyone knows you do not walk your dog right up to the edge of the water, especially if you know for a fact that an alligator or alligators live right there. This is how they hunt- they lay in shallow water, right up at the edge and when an animal comes down to drink, they jump out and grab it. Stay a good 10 feet back and you won't have that problem. And I'm guessing the reason you can't walk your dog along the street there is because the only place for them to poop when you're walking them there is someone else's yard or along the street that is public space where everyone has to walk to get to their vehicles. Too many people do not clean up after their dog. No, they are not liable or culpable. She, like everyone else there, was well aware of the alligators and could have avoided it by not walking right up to the edge of the water.

I think that the people in charge of the housing area suck for not allowing the residents to walk on the roads, but yeah, anyone in Florida knows that any body of water could have a gator in it, heck, most of the Country knows Florida waters have gators so I seriously doubt she had no idea. I do think that the staff were dumb as all getout for feeding the gators, that only leads to them thinking humans are a good source of food, but in the end she chose to walk that close to the water and basically tempted Fate. Sorry she passed in such a horrific way though.

The Croc Attack story actually has a little more to it; the area the filming took place was Ave Dakpa Crocodile Resort. The crocs there are people-friendly/tolerant, and there are rules and procedures in place for interacting with them (the tour guide will give them chicken and then show/tell the people in their group on how to approach the crocodile) that sadly were not followed. The incident was also not reported in the correct time frame, but upon hearing of it, the Crocodile Resort has added new safety measures to prevent another attack like this one. Also, for those curious: the lady in the video only had minor injuries and was released from the hospital. She’s doing well! The crocodile was also okay! (they did not harm/euthanize him after)

@@dedramathews924it has nothing to do with racism and he didn’t say Matt intended on killing anyone. Matt Petgrave has a long history with overly aggressive and violent tactics on the ice. If you bothered even taking a cursory glance at his penalty history -you would know that. Everything about that kick appears to be a deliberate action, that intended to inflict bodily harm. So much so, that he was arrested for it (being let out on bail does not mean he is innocent, it simply means that he wasn’t deemed a “flight risk” and was allowed to wait it out at home). Nobody thinks he went out there with murder on his mind. The death was accidental, but the kick that caused it-definitely doesn’t appear to be…hence the arrest for “manslaughter” (which denotes causing an unintentional/accidental death of someone). How about instead of squealing *”racism”* at everyone and everything-you actually learn the facts of a situation first? The world is done humoring you and your little “victim” game. **We now require you to have actual facts and evidence** to back up “hate” claims-so that our time/resources/energy can be spent helping _actual victims_ of _actual hate crimes._ Thank you and have a nice day.
