Twin Peaks - Dale Cooper's best advice 

I like the inversion of genre cliche whereby the hick sheriff is all in a hurry, and the out-of-towner FBI agent encourages him to chill out.

I used to interpret this as "look for a present to give yourself" like a donut or new shoes, but I think it's really more of "don't reject the presents that life presents you with." Like feeling sleepy and having a nap, accepting a cup of coffee when offered, or buy something on a whim. Don't go out looking for them but appreciate the things that life puts in your path.

This is actually extremely great advice, especially when you're feeling down and out!

When it comes to Cooper's advice, I much prefer: "When two separate events occur simultaneously pertaining to the same object of inquiry, we must always pay strict attention."

Twin Peaks is one of the best pieces of media ever. Period. Few shows I find myself agreeing with every single one of the writers' decision, every line of dialogue ever spoken or not, every single shot, every single scene. It's something special honestly.

It's been 30 years and we are still waiting to see a TV character better than Special Agent Dale Cooper.

I'm not a huge series watcher so I only knew Twin Peaks by name. It was only until I heard a lofi song titled "Damn Fine Coffee" that samples this whole dialogue that this got my attention and wow, I'm glad I got to know it, even if just because of a music.

This equates to what I learned when I still suffered from chronic depression. That I remind myself often to take a step back/down to relax before I carry on. Whatever I do I try to do relaxed and if thing come along that help achieve that and gets your mind off - all the better.

For those of us who feel the pleasure of the sensation - when Special Agent Dale Cooper talks about and drinks a delicious cup of black coffee it gives very soothing and delightful ASMR.

I love lines, advice from show and this was a great one. I've written down so many over the years yhis is definitely one to remember. This so true, yet why is it we find it so difficult to just be in the present, when its all we really have in life, is the given moment? Because tomorrow's not promised, we should love the PRESENT while we are given the time in the moment to appreciate what we have while we have it before its taken away from us. The gift of the moment is one we often take for granted. Be Present because you never know when it will be your last moment. 🎁
